Are you sure Platonic is the word you wanted to use? That would be the first time i saw a performance vehicle being advertised as chaste and non-sexual… Usually it’s completely the opposite and marketers are falling over themselves about how erotic the experience is :joy:

“So what made you want to come here?”

“Uh…I think the main point of the automotive sports…is to, drive a car and really feel it. Many people chose to, put their 300hp engine into the car and hope for the best…it’s-it’s not really what we doing.”

“Okay, I suppose you’re making cars that aren’t so powerful as them for a reason?”

“Well, yeah. Firstly it’s cheap, meaning everyone uh, can get those cars without having to break a bank. Secondly I think many of us seem to have the forgotten what made the driving experience memorable to begin with…which is to just drive and have fun. We’re trying to maintain these values in our cars, so don’t expect a lot of advanced features in there; this is all about back-to-basics.”

“The Kou-Pei you see here is exactly what I meant. It’s uh a bit more expensive than our usual model line, but we tried our best to cut down cost and weight as much as you can to maintain…the uh, authenticity of driving pleasure. If you want more power, we have that too, The Velocity is more or less the same car with a better chassis, the more powerful engine and quality in general. Now this is our top-of-the-line model, and even then it’s still cheap enough to be around the same price as say, a Miata.”

“Well, everyone here is packing a lot of horses for this one. You see them using turbos, traction controls, all that. You’re sure you’re up for this?”

“We don’t come here to win; we are here to take part in an event and enjoy what the car community has to offer, and that’s what matters the most to me, oh and of course, how else would you get the public to know your cars?!” - Rolk Kennetha

The World Premier of the 2020 5th Generation Tanaka X-Series

From left to right: 1st gen Tanaka 300X Turbo (1989), 2nd gen Tanaka 300X Turbo Spec A (1998), 3rd gen Tanaka 300X GT (2006), 4th gen Tanaka 450X S (2010), 5th generation Tanaka 450X S (2020)

Since its debut in 1985, the X-Series has always been Tanaka’s flagship GT car. In 1995, the 2nd generation was born and it was very popular. The 3rd generation, which was introduced in 2005, was a technological marvel. The current 4th generation X-Series has been in production since 2010. It was clear that a replacement was essentially needed to keep the evolution going.

Tanaka 450X S shown

Introducing the all-new 5th generation X-Series, another revolutionary chapter in Tanaka’s history. This new GT car still retained its sporty and full of character soul, only that it is more elegant and luxurious than ever before. Clearly by seeing it, the car is more taller and longer than the outgoing generation. People used to complain about the 4th generation’s cramped interior, the new generation solves it. The pure driving experience is kept from the previous generation, thanks to the NA 4.5 litre V8 in the 450X which revs up to 9300RPM. You still have a chance to buy an NA car from us. AWD is optional if you can’t handle the power. We also still kept the variable hydraulic power steering instead of our usual variable electric power steering. No steer-by-wire for our sports cars. We want car enthusiasts to enjoy our sports cars.

Tanaka 450X shown

But first, let’s take a look at the X-Series in its purest form, the 450X. The body was beautifully sculpted and designed by Lavelle Studios (special and warmest thanks to @titleguy1 ), with Tanaka designers tweaking with details all over the car. The front gives an elegant yet aggressive stance. The sides have vents which lets hot air go out of the engine and also adds to the side profile. The side windows are visually connected to the rear window with a gloss black trim which goes through the B-pillar, again adding to the side profile. The rear is meaty and aggressive, continuing the theme from the front. Part of the taillights goes down to create a contemporary look. It also have some uses which includes having space for a side indicator and make the rear vents become part of the taillight. The rear foglights and reflectors are also integrated cohesively into the rear diffuser. The ducktail spoiler is actually a part of the body and the truck seamlessly. The result is one of the most beautiful and attractive looking modern Tanaka vehicle ever.

Open the door and sit inside the new X-Series, you wouldn’t want to get out of the car again. The interior is also sleek and attractive. A classic clock by Richard Mille is put in the middle. High quality material was used in the interior. Starting with the seats, which are made with luxurious leather (surrounding the inserts) and wool (for the inserts). One line of wood trimming goes surrounds the interior of the X-Series, making it look cohesive. Tanaka’s luxury infotainment system is shared with the Aventus, which is Tanaka’s flagship full-size luxury sedan, which is innovative and ergonomic too. The screen is as big as an Ipad Pro (in its biggest available size). The gear lever is rectangular-shaped wrapped with leather with crystal inserts. The steering wheel is wrapped around high quality leather (or optional alcantara) with some parts being wood as a trim. No blank switches to be seen, no visible plastic to be seen, only the highest attention of detail was put in the X-Series to ensure a luxurious, prestigious, elegant and amazing experience.

The chassis of the Tanaka 450X

The drivetrain of the Tanaka 450X

Of course like all generation, the 5th generation is front-engined. The chassis is made of glued aluminium, with double-wishbone front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension. Depending on the trim you chose, you have the option of either a 444HP and 333lb-ft of torque 4.5 litre NA V8 (engine code: Z45DI-A2, only available in the 450X and 450X AWD and it revs up to 9300RPM) or a turbocharged version of the same engine (engine code: Z45DI-A2 Earthboost, only available in the 450X S and 450X S AWD), which produces 590HP and 559lb-ft of torque. AWD is optional on all current versions. To insure your utmost safety, all the safety systems available today are in the X-Series. Autopilot is also included.

The 2019 Rigore pavilion at the Goodwood Festival of Speed has many interesting attractions to experience. With driving simulators where you can test out the all-new 2020 Rigore Caelum MT-R and an owner’s paddock that serves refreshments and snacks, the Rigore pavilion gives a rich, encompassing Rigore experience to all that enter. A VR experience is also available - when you approach the cars at the pavilion, an AR system shows you the car that you’re looking at and the important statistics along with a visual breakdown of the powertrain and interior.

Of course, the pavilion also has a melange of iconic Rigore cars - from the original 1965 Angeles to the 2019 Apophis, there’s an entire lineup of Rigore vehicles to enjoy.

Mondo Automobiles at Goodwood. Day 1.

Every cloud has a silver lining. Every coin has two sides. For every beauty, there is a beast.
The other is the pinnacle of civilization. This is a force of nature.

The Mondo E10 Naga.

Fire Breathing Excellence.

Built on the base of Mondo’s flagship, the 6th generation Mondo E10 released in Geneva this year, the Mondo E10 Naga puts performance in the forefront, without compromising the excellent luxury of the E10. Feel the brutal thrill of a supercar without leaving the comforts of home. This is the ultimate highway cruiser for those who wish to be men and drive themselves.

Dragon’s Heart.

The Mondo E10 Naga is the ultimate expression of flagship performance. The elegant cruiser engine fitted in other E10 trims has been swapped in favour of a mighty 7.5L V10, outputting 812hp and 982Nm of torque. As a result, The E10 Naga could reach 100km/h in a mere 3 seconds, topping out at an impressive 359km/h.

Crane’s Poise.

Such power is of course offset by excellent handling, ensuring control at every situation. The advanced tire and suspension setup provide grip matching that of small agile sports cars, while SerbaDrive AWD exploits said grip to distribute every drop of power through all 4 wheels. The E10 Naga’s handling characteristics are further enhanced by an advanced downforce package, planting the vehicle to the ground at high speeds.

Sheep’s Clothing.

Despite the brutal performance, the E10 Naga spares equally little in creature comforts. The interior is equipped with plush leather seats, with various electronic functions and a bucketed form to maximize comfort and safety. Carbon fiber or brushed aluminum may be fitted as interior trim, providing an air of sportiness. SerbaConn AI is available as with all Mondo E10s, accessible through the curved full-dashboard touchscreen display.

Lion’s Grandeur.

The exterior of the Mondo E10 Naga is no exception from the Mondo staple of expert craftsmanship and design. Each face has been altered in ways that convey the power within, as well as considering functionality.
Larger vents are installed on the front and sides of the E10 Naga, allowing more optimized breathing of the engine and brakes. They also function aesthetically to increase the sense of brutality and sportiness of the E10 Naga. The rear is now equipped with several functional aerodynamic elements, such as the rear diffuser and wing. To finalize the look of the hulking performer, trim pieces on the E10 Naga are in carbon fiber and piano black.

广州红湖 (Honghu) - 8^8

The Honghu 8^8 grand tourer has been redesigned for the 2020 year, now with a hybrid motor to accompany its twin-turbo V12. Keeping the brand's spirit of elegance alive, the new 8^8 provides both superior comfort and driver excellence to the user.

Design

The 2020 refresh of the 8^8 gives the super grand tourer sharper edges, with its sleeker, more low-profile front fascia and low-slung rear design. The grille is now illuminated, reflecting the hybrid powertrain it now possesses.

Performance

Thanks to Honghu’s new experimental hybrid drivetrain, the 8^8 now makes an estimated 1200 hp (ICE and electric motor combined) and pulls itself to 100 km/h in 2.3 seconds. The fixed wing has now been replaced with an active assembly, which helps pull the Honghu through corners at 1.23g yet helps it achieve top speeds higher than any Honghu made.

Safety

Safety was a major concern in the previous generation model. Fortunately, the 8^8 now uses the same Honghu safety architecture seen in current Jinhes, including the AR assistant, active collision avoidance system, and the rest.

The new 8^8 will be running on the Goodwood hill climb. Make sure to catch it there!

新的8^8将在古德伍德山上运行。一定要抓住它!

It ran a 0:49.34. Cool.
