New for '18: LAP LCR20 Touring and Sprint
The little brother to the LAP LE52 has arrived. The all-new LCR20 is a small, light, two-seat RWD coupe aimed at enthusiasts with more modest budgets.
The base Touring trim, starting from $17200 (not counting markups) is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged I4 developing 240 horsepower on regular unleaded. It comes equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels shod in genuine performance tires as standard.
Speed demons will want to check out the punchier Sprint trim, which retails for whose more highly tuned engine delivers over 300 horsepower on premium unleaded. It is easily distinguished by its wider 18-inch wheels (to accommodate larger brakes) and an adjustable rear spoiler.
Both trims are offered with a six-speed manual as standard, although the Touring version can be ordered with an eight-speed automatic. Other standard equipment includes an infotainment suite with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a full set of driving aids (incorporating launch control) and a mechanical LSD. A convertible version of the LCR20 is currently under development, but whether or not it will have a retractable hardtop remains unconfirmed. It will, however, be available with either engine. Speaking of which, expect it to be offered in the LB20 as well, replacing the older port-injected I4 of nearly equal capacity.
