The Model 3 was a mixed bag for Bogliq. Sure, it had good performance and sold OK but it was overshadowed, visually and in sales, by the Model 2. Therefore, when the Model 8 was being designed, the brief was to make everyone aware that the Maverick was more than a scaled up Mutineer. In this respect the design was successful; very successful indeed!

The Model 8 Maverick was expected to take its rightful place as Bogliq’s flagship model. Sales should be strong enough for the car to not be rare, but still rare enough to be considered as an aspirational goal for owners of cheaper Bogliq models to look forward to being able to afford “one day”.
If it looks like a van and feels like a van then it is a van. And that’s definitely true of the Cargostar and Squadstar. But a five-seat version of the latter, which would have swapped the third row for more storage space, could very easily have been as popular as its stablemates.
The Model 6 got serious with its mission of being an epic off-roader in its Mk II refresh. The Mutineers V6 was installed and the interior improved to make the Model 6 worth the general public’s time in taking it for a test drive. The Model 6 also was the go to vehicle in the Bogliq range if you needed to tow a heavy load, with both variants boasting over one tonne towing capacity!
Otherwise, the Model 6 was still a hardcore offroad adventure machine and it’s design reflected that fact; no-nonsense, no-frills, no worries!
It’s been ten years since Vision: One and so Bogliq again reached out to their suppliers for interesting concepts that they were developing for eventual implementation in road cars…
Vision: Two showcases new frontiers in aerodynamics and design!
Prototype materials
Corrosion resistant steels for the chassis and body panels
Wheels made from a strong, but light aluminium alloy
As with Vision: One, Vision: Two was showcased at the 1961 Detroit Motor Show, then spent the next five years working with the contributing industries to turn their prototypes into viable automotive production technologies.
Responding to the lack of a home-grown high performance GT, Bogliq USA set about designing their own.
Powered by a high performance four litre V8, the Nihilist packed an iron punch in a velvet glove, cosseting the lucky driver in leather and wood, with the delightful aroma’s to match.
The Nihilist was meant to be the halo product of Bogliq USA. Posters were made of the car to be given to children for their bedroom wall, diecast models were commissioned and sent out to both owners of the Nihilist and people of wealth. The car featured in TV shows and movies wherever Bogliq’s marketing men could get them inserted. The Nihilist was the GT that Bogliq wanted every young man to dream of and every young woman to dream of being swept away in…

Despite its age, the Model 4 was still a popular choice in the light car segment. However, the competition was producing models with similar performance but improved fuel economy. The Mk III was aimed at improving both the affordability and fuel economy of the Zealot without increasing costs so that the Model 4 could last until the next model cycle.

The Mk III Model 4 was expected to maintain market share against the competition while upholding the Bogliq ethos of “buy better, buy Bogliq” until its replacement arrives. The Model 4 was also flagged for potentially being included in production feasibility studies being conducted for a factory in Brazil to export throughout Latin America.
No changes to the sheetmetal for 1964 but the Mk III Cargostar and Squadstar had major changes under the skin. The first major change is the shift to L-FWD. Back to back tests with a RWD Haulage proved that the L-FWD configuration was easier and safer to drive, boosting driver confidence, while the load carrying capacity was undiminished. The two variants also separated from each other a little further with the Cargostar maintaining a manual gearbox while the Squadstar received a three speed auto. The Cargostar’s suspension was left fundamentally unchanged while the Squadstar gained progressive springs and an overall less unforgiving re-tune.

The Mk III Model 5 is intended to continue to maintain sales volumes for Bogliq USA and ensure that Bogliq has a finger in as many pies as possible! The Mk III Model 5 is also part of the production feasibility studies being conducted for a factory in Brazil to export throughout Latin America.
The suite of changes to the Mk II Overlander were a step in the right direction but didn’t go far enough. The Mk III solves these niggling concerns by re-positioning the Overlander as a Heavy duty, Utility vehicle and installing a larger, more powerful, V6 engine.

The Mk III Model 6 was re-positioned so that it would better suit mining, oil exploration and light military duties throughout the globe. Domestically, the Mk III Model 6 was expected to appeal to ranchers, oilmen and hardcore offroaders.
For the 1964 model year, the Mk II Model 7 received a range of drivetrain changes and refreshes to better tailor the model range to the target market. The small capacity V6 has been joined by a 2L four cylinder, a larger capacity V6 and the midsize V8 from the Maverick. The Mk II Mutineer also gets the option of a three speed automatic on all models.
Each trim level can have any engine choice and the choice of either 4 spd manual or 3 spd auto, as well as a choice of two or four door sedan or a five door wagon.

The Mutineer is considered by Bogliq USA to be it’s bread and butter model. The Mk II has been tweaked and refined to keep the Model 7 fresh in the minds of the American public and it is expected to do well against the competition.
The Mk II version of the Model 8 was little changed from the Mk I. The Gamma V8’s were refreshed and enhanced, with the high compression 98RON motors dropped, but little else was changed other than detail trim adjustments and tuning. The largest change was the addition of magnesium wheels on the Empower and Enthuse trims, which was due to Bogliq developing a variant of their performance rim that was rated to handle the Model 9’s formidable weight.

The Mk II Model 8 was intended to maintain Bogliq’s presence in the large luxury market without letting sales slip to the competition. Although the Model 8 had lost its place as the halo car in the Bogliq stable, it would still be seen as an aspirational purchase by some members of the public, therefore the Mk II Model 8 was designed to ensure that the ownership experience would live up to the purchasers expectations.
The 1961 Model 9 was a smash hit for Bogliq USA. Every newspaper in the land ran articles about the great new homegrown sports coupe sticking it to the old money from Europe and, while not a massive sales hit in itself, the foot traffic generated by the Model 9 saw many more Bogliq’s sold than usual. Therefore Bogliq sought to widen the appeal of the Model 9 with a Mk II revision, but not throw the baby out with the bath water with a wholesale redesign.
This meant that the Mk II had big shoes to fill. The “Enhance but don’t Erase” motto resulted in the range being expanded to three distinct models; the Entice, Enthuse and the Empower. The Entice was a new model which introduced a 92RON 4.6L Gamma V8 that was designed to appeal to richer rural and semi-rural customers who had only access to lower quality fuel. The Enthuse was the same spec as the Entice except it received a high compression 4.6L Gamma V8 for improved performance. The Empower debuted the first application of Bog-jet Fuel Injection; a mechanical, air pressure metering, fuel injection system that used less fuel, with improved throttle response, than a regular carburettor while improving fuel efficiency, reliability and outright performance.
The Mk II Model 9 had truly earnt its place as the halo model of the Bogliq model range!

The Mk II Model 9 was designed to maintain the image of the Nihilist as THE sports car for the genuine American gentleman while pushing the boundaries of technological advancement. The Mk II Model 9 would achieve this by being beautiful to look at, fun to drive and available in a spec level to suit everyone. The Mk II Model 9 may be less intense than the Mk I but it was all the better for it as many more customers would choose the Mk II as their weapon of choice.
Due to this early car’s success, the Nihilist would remain as the flagship of Bogliq USA’s model range, showcasing new tech and gracing teenage boys walls as glossy posters.
Tl;dr: The Mk II Model 9 is awesome! (at least to me, lol)
By 1968 the Model 4 had reached the end of its life. Sure, the performance wasn’t too slow and it was great on gas, but the interior was outdated and cramped and the design was old hat alongside fresh new competitors. Therefore the Model 10 was a breath of fresh air when it was launched in 1969.
Featuring a stylish new look and larger dimensions, the Model 10 was built to provide similar fuel economy than the Model 4 but with a better interior and superior performance. The Model 10 would also debut, alongside the rest of the range, a similar strategy used when the Model 2 was first introduced. Since the Gamma line of engines were now over a decade old, a new engine family were in development. But, until then, the Gamma range is now backed by a five speed manual gearbox across all models. This is expected to improve fuel economy and driver pleasure over the old four speed unit. Other model wide enhancements include: Double wishbone front suspension, integrated roof aerial and four wheel disc brakes.

With a renewed focus on handling and performance the Model 10 should be able to maintain a strong presence in the small car market. However with the recent proliferation of small car competitors, the Model 10 will have its work cut out for it…
Little more than a facelift and a mechanicals refresh for the hardworking duo. They both score the new 5 speed manual gearbox and Squadstar scores an extra seat. But fundamentally things are business as usual…

Staple model of Bogliq Light Commercial, the Cargostar and Squadstar are expected to be on the shopping lists of those who make a living from such vehicles as well as the general public.
As with the Model 5, the Model 6 has been subjected to detail changes and updates. But unlike the Model 5, the Model 6 scores a larger Gamma V6 as well as the 5 speed manual upgrade. All the changes have been aimed at keeping the Model 6 at the apex of the hardcore offroad market and, as such, drives like you’d expect on tarmac: Badly!

The Mk IV Model 6 is intended to continue to appeal to the markets that the Mk III did. This truck is too focussed on off-road to give it mass market appeal, but to those who value that trait the Overlander will accomplish anything they ask of it.
