North American International Auto Show 2019

5 days until North American Auto Show opens, and we have many reveals for it!

First up, we have Corsica with the Cheetah, which to me, seems to be a muscle car. They said: “Here Comes The Mirror Man”, and I have no clue what they mean by that. Maybe the car looks like you when it isn’t so dark?

Next up, Ursula, with the F7, and apparently it will change my mind. About what? I don’t know, but it seems it will “change history” and “perfection achieved” …eh, I don’t think so.

AL Autos is coming out with the IREV, which has some very bold lights, with another obnoxiously dark ad, although I can make out much more than the F7’s ad. It seems to be a compact hatchback with some sporty feel. Not very impressed if I’m honest

Huangdou seems to be coming out with a very yellow car. All I know is, it has taillights, it’s called the CC, and it’s very yellow.

With a total of 4 cars, Harada is coming out with 2 sports cars, who look “oddly” similar. They don’t seem to be ashamed of showing way too much of their cars, and I think the 7 old people who buy them will not buy it in that very bold color. They are also coming out with a rather uninspiring Crossover and Truck.

With Dotara, a company I hadn’t heard of until now, we have a fighter, I am assured. It seems to be a car, and another overly dark ad. I don’t know, just seems very generic.

Evgenis is coming out with a crossover as well, although this one seems to be more interesting than Harada’s, but, has it really touched everything?

AL Autos has even more bold headlights, and, apparently “they can’t wait”. Bet they can.

Shromet has a new crossover, and although it looks nice, I’m fairly sure it’s not a sports car, unless if the 5 implies that it isn’t very sporty for the 3rd row that it might have?

Hokuto is bringing something big to the show, not sure how big exactly though, as it looks like a midsize sedan. I’m probably wrong about that, but I can’t be sure

Gabatron is coming out with a small village with 3 cars, all of which are the same. The cars are rather small, and unless if there are no more than 6 people in the village, it will be a tight fit.

Retroni, Bradford, Lagau, or all of the are coming out with a very blue, very odd looking car, Apparently it’s fast, named after a very old Ford, and looks like a spaceship design concept from 1927.

Birmingham is releasing a concept car, which seems to… be a car. It seems they have already revealed all the information about it, and I could care less about it, as it’s very much normal.

Studio di design Fiorientino is coming out with a car which seems to be the successor to another, very old car, and it now has LED. The ad is very red, and reminds me of paprika for some reason, probably the shade of the red air. Never thought I’d say that sentence.

It seems I was right about the Corsica being a muscle car, as all the previous versions also look like muscle cars. The ad is still dark, but now with a quote from Phil Oakey, and I’m not sure if change was what I required.

I’m still confused by this car, why does it have 3 reveals? Or is it 2 teasers and one reveal? My mind still hasn’t changed about it, and I’m still not sure it’s perfection.

We have an ad that isn’t super dark for once with this, and it’s very bright instead. It’s a roadster without much that I can make out, although it does seem to have a sporty feel to it.

Deer and Hunt is coming out with… a Fallow? I thought that was a truck, but it seems that’s changed. It looks like a lifted hypercar, although I may be wrong about that, as it’s yet another very dark ad.

Speaking of dark ads. Hokuto might just have the darkest ad of them all, with what seems to be a version of their large crossover, with a black C pillar.

That’s all for today, possibly more will be revealed by the 14th, which is when I’ll be at the Autshow. Can’t wait to come!

Ursula AG Official Press Event @ NAIAS 2019 (12th Jan Press Conference)

DETROIT - Ursula AG finally held it’s second press event, on 9 AM EST this morning. This press event concentrates the other cars Ursula planned to showcase on this auto show, as well as more info about Ursula’s participation for the LMP1 category in the 2020 FIA WEC. Just as usual, Ursula’s current CEO, Karl Fredrich will host this press event.

Highlights:

The Ursula F3 600GT. Mental as f**k.

Finally. Ursula’s race car for the road is back, and now comes with a massive punch. The new G3 600GT is now equipped with an all-new N/A 4.5L boxer-6 engine, now generates 580hp and a top speed of 317 km/h (with a 7-speed DCT). The new UAMP (Ursula Advanced Modular Platform) provides a better chassis stiffness and a lighter body, making it much more agile than ever. The car will be for sale in Europe and the USA this August.

The Ursula F5 design by SddF Concept Car. Out of ordinary.

Made with the collaboration between Ursula AG and famous Italian design studio Studio di design Fiorentino, the F5 SddF takes car design to an whole new limits. The concept car shows that the design potential the Ursula F5 can attain.
The F5 SddF comes with all the interior amieties Ursula can offer, a concept touchscreen panel replaces all the buttons, as a showcase of what the future of Ursula’s interior design could look like.

Ursula’s LMP1 Plan + The prototype

Ursula AG as also confirmed that they have finalized the design of the next car, and comply it with the 2020 LMP1 regulations. According to Ursula’s current CEO, the car they shown is actually a design concept, and the real car is far from being finalized and more tuning is still being made. But then, the concept previews what could be expected from Ursula’s racing department.

Alongside with the all-new F7 sedan, which was already shown in the 8th January, all cars will be shown to the public in this year’s NAIAS.

(I just wanted to choose an earlier date for my reveals and press conference because I don’t have time for that on 14th to 16th January 2019, sorry for that!)
(@asami Only the third “teaser” is actually the reveal, the first and the second ones are just teasers.)

AL Autos @ NAIAS 2019

New%20AL%20Logo%20PNG%20v4

Hello! Welcome to the AL Autos booth at NAIAS 2019 and to the newly redesigned AL Autos Irev, our fun to drive hatchback! We here at AL Autos have been trying to figure out how we can improve on this model ever since release. Now, however, with our new mission to improve the affordability of our models while maintaining the joy of driving an AL Autos car, we have reinspired ourselves to improve on the Irev. The Irev is one of our cars that was treated with the new recipe we have devised to hopefully fulfill this mission of ours! Here it is!

Welcome to the 2020 AL Autos Irev (Trim Shown: RGRS DTD)

We took a different approach with the lines at the front. Starting with the headlights, we have a new design which provide a “hypnotizing” element to the front lights. These headlights also include road tracking tech to improve nighttime road coverage. The front fascia has been massively updated ever since the previous model year with more angled lines formed by the fixtures leading to a more aggressive front end.

Onto the side where the Irev sports some new blacked out rims make this thing pop from any angle. As this is a hatchback, we’ve done our very best to maximize the space in the cabin for the passengers and for any luggage that you and your passengers bring on the journeys you bring this car on!

Onto the rear where our curved triangular taillights have been slightly improved design wise allowing for a sleeker rear end. All the lines formed by the fixtures have also been fiddled with so the rear end can seem and feel more aggressive. We’ve also fitted the Irev with sports tuned exhaust systems which just add to the sportiness of the sound and the look for this trim. This trim has also been fiddled with by our specialized tuning division, the Draconis Tuning Division, which is why you will find dragon badges near our AL Autos logo.

The engines that we have available for the Irev range from economical yet fizzy little engines to powerful sporty engines, all with something that we should have put on our models oh so very long ago, Variable Valve Lift. The use of VVL in the Irev has allowed them to achieve higher MPG ratings while also providing more power to boot.

If you would like to view individual trims. See the summary tabs bellow! Thanks for sticking around and have a wonderful day!

The AL Autos Irev isn’t the only thing that is with us here today. We have had another project in the works for a while now. Developed with the same mission statement as above: Better affordability while still being a super fun machine to drive. Presenting the newly redesigned AL Autos Quaestus, our mid-size sedan.

Welcome to the 2020 AL Autos Quaestus (Trim Shown: RGS-4D)

Starting with the front-end design, we’ve included our “hypnotizing” yet striking road-tracking headlamps to the Quaestus’ front fascia. These headlamps along with a similar grille as found on the previous model year of the Quaestus to give this car a familiar look.

Moving onto the side, we’ve incorporated another new rim design that has come about. The ones found on this trim, the RGS-4D, come with the sport models. The Quaestus does not come only as a sedan. The Quaestus’ chassis allows for us to go further with the body styles that it can offer. The Quaestus, for now, comes in 3 versions: Sedan, Coupe, and Wagon.

For the rear end, instead of the usual lights, we’ve put in a new design which complements the vehicle a little more. On the sport model, you will also find newly tuned sports exhaust system which gives this car a nice bark to pair with the bite this model has.

Track or city streets, rain or shine, winter or summer, the Quaestus will be ready to deliver a fun driving experience!

If you would like to view individual trims. See the summary tabs bellow! Thanks for sticking around and have a wonderful day!

2019 Evgenis Sphinx

Is there anywhere we can’t reach? This is the task our latest and greatest offering brings to the table for our first reveal of 2019. A car design to go everywhere and anywhere. The Sphinx is here to prove that crossovers aren’t just a gimmick or a fad, but they are true everyday cars that can do simply anything. And unlike many others in this segment, our promise to you is that the Sphinx can truly go further.

This latest generation of the Sphinx is here to once again, like all models prior, revolutionise the segment with our latest offerings in technology, design and luxury to ensure that we always stay true to what we are and what we do. “Premium, standard.”

DESIGN
Similar to our latest models revealed in 2018, the Sphinx incorporates many of the key styling cues and core values that people have grown to love on all of our models, will still retaining a degree of identity and uniqueness within the range. The Sphinx also adds some new and exciting elements to the design for 2019, many of which you will see in future reveals this year. Furthermore, we wanted the vehicle to feel and look like the luxury vehicle it is, meaning even the finest of details have been taken into account, and all technological advances have been designed to enhance and compliment the lines throughout.

Towards the front of the vehicle, the integration theme apparent on previous unveilings continues, meaning a sleek headlight design runs seamlessly into a bold and imposing grille that embraces the lower section of the headlight cluster. Naturally, the company logo takes centre stage within this grille, now with a chequered chrome design. A large chrome strip runs from one side to the other above the grille and finishing at the headlight clusters, with a further low strip seamlessly integrating into the DRLs, adding a further element of classiness.

The lower section of the front of the vehicle is designed to give a sense of muscularity and ruggedness, while also retaining the key charm and professionalism we strive to include within all our models. This extra ruggedness isn’t that usual of an Evgenis, but we really wanted to send across the message that this is a car that can take the rough stuff.

Heading around to the rear section of the Sphinx, a trend that began with the Basilisk has made a return once more with a light cluster embraces and being integrated within a section of gloss back, adding an extra touch of class to the vehicle. New to this vehicle is a light bar that runs across the car and a new and more interesting internal design to the lighting cluster. As with all models in 2018, the model name takes centre stage on the centre of the boot…

Like we always offer on all models, the Sphinx will come with a wide array of design options that will allow you to make this car a personal statement and truly yours. The Sphinx will be available with a wide range of metallic, gloss and matte paint finishes as well as being available on our Evgenis Custom Collection scheme, allowing you to allocated any colour you desire to this vehicle. Wheel choices range from 17 inches up to 21 inches (model dependent) and in a variety of designs.

ENGINES
Upon launch, the Sphinx will be available with only petrol and diesel engines (market dependent). Petrol engines include the 1.6-litre turbocharged inline 4 with 150 bhp, available with both manual and automatic transmissions, as well as the choice between two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive. We also will offer our 2.0-litre turbocharged inline 4 with 200 bhp, available solely with four-wheel drive with either a manual or automatic transmission (gearboxes choices market dependent).

In the future, an ES model will join the line-up, stay tuned for the unveiling later in 2019.

Diesel engines will be covered by our award-winning 2.0-litre turbocharged inline 4 producing either 150 or 190 bhp, only available in Europe and other select markets.

Later in 2019, a true hybrid will become available equipping the 1.6-litre inline 4, a plug-in hybrid will become available for extended electric-only range and greater power output, again mated to the 1.6-litre inline 4, as well as an electric-only version which we can confirm will equip a 65 kWh battery allowing for exceptional range capabilities and sensational performance. All these alternative fuel options will arrive at all markets.

TECHNOLOGY
We continue to work hard on becoming the best in offering the latest ultimate advanced technology on our products and the Sphinx certainly has no exception to this. We also continue to offer the Sphinx with just one trim level including a wide range of standard equipment and technology that can be upgraded with some simple packs to offer the greatest experience possible.

As standard, the Basilisk will have numerous autonomous features including automatic emergency braking, speed sign recognition and more. Parking technology as standard is extensive, including all-round parking sensors and a rear-view backup camera.

To upgrade these features further, the “Advanced Autonomy Pack” will add adaptive cruise control with stop&go and traffic assist, allowing the car to safely maintain distance from the car in front at all times and even restart the journey should the traffic come to a rather unwanted stop. This will also add lane centering assist, blind spot monitoring and so much more, giving the car complete level 2 autonomy.

The “Advanced Parking Pack” adds complete park assist, allowing the car to complete the full parking procedure in parallel and perpendicular cases without any input from the driver, as well as adding surround cameras that offer the highest resolution image of any car made on our new internal displays.

The technological feats do not end with the car as even once you are outside of the vehicle, thanks to the new Evgenis Connect App for your mobile, you will have further options. With the Sphinx, you will find additional features, including the ability to park the car from outside of the vehicle, preempt the climate control system so the car is warm/cool upon entering and so much more, as well as allowing you to see key information relevant to the car.

The Sphinx will be available with two choices of dials, with the standard offering being our hybrid design with both analogue and digital dials, which can be upgraded at little cost to our CDC (customisable driver cockpit) which boasts an exceptionally large, high-resolution display. Our main infotainment display has been updated for 2019 and now measures 10” as standard with our electric version coming later in 2019 fitting the upgraded 14” variant seen in the Basilisk las year. This infotainment system incorporates Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard.

INTERIOR
Evgenis loves to offer our customers a premium standard not just with technology and the driving experience, but also with our interiors and build quality. The Sphinx is here to really offer a high-end experience within the category, with finishes as standard many rivals would include within the options list. All the materials, finish and design has been carefully put together to offer a true sense of classiness and luxury.

As standard, the Sphinx includes cruelty-free, vegan-friendly, man-made leather to open up the doors to a more inclusive vision that we have taken the challenge to embrace and see with greater importance, while standard leather can been fitted at little cost. Seating is also massively adjustable with electrically-adjusting lumbar support as standard, with fully-adjustable, massaging leather seats also being available. Rear seating can be equally as impressive and luxurious, offering ample passenger space in the form of both legroom and headroom, as well as folding, reclining and sliding to maximise comfort and space.

Interior materials are of extremely high quality, with there being a great importance of more premium and nicer interior elements in this car and it really does show. Of course, depending on your choice of seating and other design elements your cabin will appear one way or the other but always true to you, but this could include a mix of fine leather, woods, metals, glasses and so much more on offer. As with external design, the interior is also made further customisable under the Evgenis Custom Collection scheme that will allow any purchaser to make a completely unique design.

The Sphinx will come standard with 4G connectivity plus emergency callout, with the first being completely free for the first 3 years of ownership, although extensions packages can be purchased, and emergency callout being free for life.

DRIVING
We have always put great emphasis on making sure our vehicles offering a compelling driving experience and the Sphinx is sure to make no exception to this. As to be expected with cars of this category and given the design language indications from before, the Sphinx is set up to be a wonderfully comfortable car while retaining a level of sportiness for driving pleasure.

Great emphasis as well has been placed on making sure our four-wheel drive models do have the ability to go off-road, meaning that all models equipping this system will come with manually lockable differentials and a low-range gearbox. Additional off-road ability can be obtained if required with options such as greater ride height and better-suited tyres to rough conditions. Our technology has also been optimised to work with these conditions, with hill ascent assist and hill descent control as standard across the range, as well as a variety of other assists and alerts that will help you in a sticky situation.

Huangdou Press Release Event

Banter.

Strobe lights start flashing while Jolin Tsai’s 怪美的 starts to play. Vibrant, youthful phrases start flashing on the screen. Around the chorus, out comes the 1991 CC-100s and the new 2019 Huangdou CC.

You thought it would be some hype ass hatchback that’s fun to drive? Sike, it’s a crossover

2019 Huangdou CC

The Huangdou CC is the company’s revamp of the classic CC-100s; a youthful convertible hatchback which emphasized the driving experience. The adolescent heart of the CC-100s returns in 2019, with a santa-fe lookin ass grille Huangdou’s new large-grille design language. Every trim of the CC comes with a standard sunroof because a convertible-top SUV would have the IIHS yelling at you to preserve the open-air experience which the CC-100s provided. Each CC uses the either the Jinhe-Huangdou 2.2L inline-4 or the 2.0 litre ranging from 173-308 horsepower, while wheel sizes range from 16-20 inches. The suspension geometry of the compact crossover is strut and trailing-arm.

Huangdou CC Au

Safety

The New CC comes with Huangdou’s revised safety suite dubbed ForceField. Whilst the older system included parking sensors, radar cruise control and blind spot monitoring, its newer suite now tacks on forward collision warning and braking, active lane-keep assist, as well as rear cross-traffic alert. Au trims use the ForceField+ which add more features onto the existing ForceField system. The car will keep the doors from opening if it detects oncoming traffic, brake when reversing if the backup sensors detect that it is at excessively close proximity to an obstacle, as well as steer itself back over if changing lanes into another vehicle.

Technology

Alongside the standard heads-up-display on the Au trims, a holographic assistance system named Huangdou Assistant (I know, rather lame) could also be optioned in. Like Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa, said assistant can deliver weather, traffic and other information by a voice prompt. Avatars are interchangeable, from a talking soy bean to some anime-ass waifu named Yumi.

Sport

The CC Sport takes the crossover and shove a turbo inline-4 making 308 horses into it, mounting it alongside a new 7-speed DCT, allowing it to hit 60 mph in 5.2 seconds. 235-width tires on 19-inch wheels send the CC through corners at 1.07g. The Huangdou ForceField, a panoramic moonroof, performance exhaust, as well as the Huangdou Assistance can all be added as options.

The CC starts at $15 000, rises up to $35 000 and can be optioned with either FWD and AWD.

Huangdou Press Event Part 2?

As the CC and CC-100s roll off the stage, Show Luo’s No Joke begins to play. Where do they get the licensing for all this music anyways? Smoke starts to accumulate, the strobe lights flash vigorously as a 1989 Huangdou SC-153RE and the new Huangdou SC slide onto stage.

shown: huangdou sc lite

2019 Huangdou SC

The new Huangdou SC reincarnates the tail-happy coupe of joy that was the SC-153RE. Each SC besides the SportX used a 191-horsepower 1.6L inline-4 mated to either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT, not only allowing for lightweight feel and superior performance, but also astounding fuel economy. Each non-SportX SC would average around 40-45 mpg. Suspension geometry was wishbone-multilink with the ability to option in active dampers. Like the CC and other new Huangdous, ForceField and Huangdou Assistant are standard on the top trim. The SC came with 5 trims, with the barebones Lite up to the SportX.

Performance

The Au trim of the CC wraps its 17-inch wheels in 245-width tires, sending it through corners at 1.17g. 0-60 time clocks in around 5.5 seconds for the Au trim. Launch control was included in every model except the Lite.

Lite

The Lite trim removes most of the bells and whistles that the other trims offer. It would use the same powerplant mated to a 6-speed manual. However, 205-width tires wrapped in a non-performance compound were used. Still, the Lite would be able to go through corners at 1.04g and hit 60 mph in 6 seconds. To save weight, seats are the most basic they can be, infotainment system being the most basic Huangdou offers too. All advanced safety systems besides a backup camera are removed, providing a barebones 2212-pound driving machine. The Lite is priced around $20 000

SportX

The Huangdou SC SportX is as close to Jinhe as Huangdou gets, with a 345-horsepower turbo 1.6 and AWD which brought the SportX to 60 in 4.3 seconds. Huangdou’s active suspension suite was offered on the SportX, taking the vehicle around corners at roughly 1.18g. Huangdou Assistant is standard, while the safety suite could be optioned in. The SportX starts around $33 000.

I never thought a Chinese manufacturer could ever come up with two stunningly bold designs, but the SC and CC have proven to be just that - they would make an ideal pairing of trackday car and daily driver.

2019 Harada Topisa

2019 Harada Topisa LX, in Silver Grey

We are releasing the USDM version of the Umbra, the Topisa, for 2019, and it is the proper midsize 3rd row crossover it’s always been, but with even more modern features to update the original 2014 model to be more than up to date in 2019 and after. The car has LED headlights, DRLs, and Foglights, with a modern floating roof style C-Pillar. It also comes standard with an electronically folding 2 seat third row, which is one of the best 3rd rows in it’s class. The car has an optional 3rd row entertainment system (standard with luxury package and Premium+ model), which can download videos, movies and photos, and can support both blu-ray and DVD.

2019 Harada Topisa Premium+, in Obsidian Black

The facelifted Topisa comes with the same naturally aspirated 3.6 litre V6, 3ES engine, as the non-facelifted version, although it is still up to date as ever, with over 275 horsepower and a smooth power curve. The engine has been in production since 2014, and is known for it’s amazing reliability, as a similar version is also used in some of Harada’s new military trucks. The engine is quiet, but still can sound, especially good after VCpT engages, at around 3600 RPM, giving the whole family good fun. All variants of the Umbra and Topisa since 2014 use the 36HAFSB version of the 3ES, meant for comfortable, economical usage in crossovers, large cars, SUVs and more.

2019 Harada Topisa Premium, in Brilliant Blue

There are multiple options for what model Topisa you would like, each with an AWD option, sports package, and more. The car starts at $30,500, and every one of those dollars are worth it, as the car comes with all the features you could ever need from it, whether it’s at the beach, going to the nearby mountain, or taking everyone to school.

2019 Harada Sereva

2019 Harada Sereva S, in Fire Orange

The 2019 Sereva is the second generation of the model, with the last one coming out of production in 2003. We are proud to unveil the second generation in the same color as the original, Flame Orange. The Sereva is very sporty, comfortable, stylish, and practical with LED DRLs and LED foglights. The car has active double wishbone suspension, both at the front and rear. All models of the Sereva use the 3ET engine-with the S having a 1.7 litre producing 236 horsepower, and the S 2.1 producing 326 horsepower-which is turbocharged and has VCpT, which both help the engine be economical, and powerful.

2019 Harada Sereva S 2.1, in Flame Red

The Sereva is very quick, with a 0-62 of up to 4.5 seconds (Sereva S 2.1 with Optional DCT), and a limited top speed of 155 MPH, and it has a quick manual transmission, alloy rims, sports tyres, and a limited slip differential, all as standard, which helps you feel in full control of the car. The car is made of aluminum and AHS steel, which keeps the car rigid and light, and vented front brakes which are stronger and ligher than normal, solid disc brakes.

2019 Harada Sereva S, in Pine Green

The new Sereva will be available in two models at launch, the Sereva S, and the Sereva S 2.1. The S starts at $37,500, and the S 2.1 starts at $41,200. Both have a hardtop, convertible design, which keeps the car strong, but still with room for open-top enjoyment. The Sereva is RWD, just as the last generation was, which also makes the car very fun, whether it’s at a corner, a tight forest road, or an open highway.

2019 Studio di design Fiorentino TURBINA II Concept

The Turbina II is an evolution of the original Turbina concept released in 1966. 53 Years later, Studio di design Fiorentino have created an evolution to the original unique concept.

Using a Biofuel Turbine to charge an Electric drive system, this concept brings the unique and original decisions of using Turbine systems, and mating them to a modern electric system.

The Turbina II takes the modern sleek designs of the era and creates a unique and interesting design around it.

The 2019 Turbina II is expected to have different version of different spec created throughout 2019 and into 2020.

It’s Nicholas Justinian, back after the first day of the NAIAS to give you the low down on all the new reveals! As always, be sure to check Our Page because we do reviews and more news! Without further ado, lets get into the reveals!

The Ursula F7 is here! And they’ve been sure to highlight the failed 2007 concept that never actually made it to production. Because failure sure makes me want to spend a ton of money on a luxury sedan! There’s a bunch of models ranging from a hybrid V6 all the way up to a V10. They claim to have best in class interior, but I really have no clue how that’s judged. Seems like something anybody can just make up. It’s got all the latest gadgets apparently, but no word on pricing for this “best in class interior.” I’d certainly be interested to see when it hits production this winter.

There’s more at their stand too… something about a concept by Studio di design Fiorentino, which, granted, looks far better than the F7 we’re getting in production, but apparently a touch screen replaces all the hard buttons. That just means I can’t use gloves to turn on the heat when it gets cold. Lovely design. Hope that part doesn’t make it to production.

and lastly an LMP1 Prototype. Alright. Hard to get excited about something when you don’t reveal the specs. If you’re trying to keep the specs hush hush, fair enough, but I then fire back, why reveal it at all?

AL Autos had a presentation so long I needed to crack open a book. And apparently IREV doesn’t actually mean EV. Cool. that’s not confusing at all. Also I wonder how they managed to fit double wishbone suspension to a FWD car…

a larger Quaestus performance sedan/wagon. But dear god is it heavy, especially for a midsize sedan! How is this supposed to be a fun driver’s car, men?

Evgenis (Spelt correctly this time), surprise suprise, it’s a crossover… yaaaaaaaaay. Looks good, it will drive predictably and plenty of people will buy it. It’s cruelty-free, vegan friendly and personality free as well! Apparently it comes with level 2 autonomy as well, which is some actually stimulating news. Also at 31,000$ USD starting price I don’t exactly know what it’s supposed to compete with? It’s too expensive for C segment regular crossovers but too cheap for the premium stuff. Thus is the curse of selling European cars in America I suppose… There’s also a hybrid planned later in the year.

Huangdou was actually the most pleasant surprise thus far. I mean, I know we’re supposed to hate cars being remade as crossovers, but the CC was always a crummy cheap little Chinese hatchback, and this new CC crossover actually seems to have some mass market appeal, I even daresay looks athletic and nice. Maybe if they took themselves more seriously and stopped trying to be “hip” with pop culture refrences and making the navigation anime girls we’d actually have a serious Chinese threat here in America. But starting at 15,000$USD, Which is less than B segment crossovers, I’m willing to bet it’s going to be cheap and terrible to drive. Maybe if they took themselves more seriously we’d actually have a mass market Chinese threat.
They also have a new SC, which, uh, doesn’t look as good. But it’s trying to move upmarket so good luck with that.

Here’s Harada’s whole new fleet. Truck, Crossover and sports car. The truck is a truck. I don’t like the look of this one, the headlights are too small and wierd looking, and what’s the point of a truck with a DCT and can only get 11MPG? I’d stick to the base model personally, at 33,000$, it seems like a good deal, if that’s a crew cab.
There’s a new Topisa, which I thought was the one styled by Luceat, because this thing looks surprisingly good for a Harada, and it can be had for 30,000$ or thereabouts. Like the Sphinx, it’s a European crossover brought to America and sold at an odd price. I think the Evgenis is more stylish and luxurious to my tastes but let me know what you’d take!
And lastly are two sports coupes which, uh, seem to be priced exactly the same? Are you competing with yourself there Harada? Not the best marketing strategy. The sports coupe segment has pretty dwindling sales as is, and it’s hard to see how dividing your sales twice can be sustainable…

And Lastly… Studio di design Fiorentino made a concept car. apparently it’s bio-fuel and E-drive? Huh. That’s a cool concept… I don’t like the look, but show me something that moves and I’ll be officially impressed.

Fuji Motorworks Press Event I

Eurobeat starts playing as the stage lights up with dark red LEDs. The growl of a modern six cylinder, accompanied by the brief flutter of a blowoff valve, announce the arrival of the main attraction. Fuji’s first mid-engine car since the discontinuation of the RRS in 1997 - and one that will define the brand’s design language for the foreseeable future.

2019 Fuji Sceptre

shown: sceptre gt-st

Sceptre GT-ST

Featuring the 2.5 liter 6 cylinder powerplant that will also appear in the new Clarity, the GT-ST produces 449 horsepower from the mid-mounted engine, going through a 7-speed DCT or 7-speed manual to the rear wheels. 0-60 is, then, achieved in less than 3.5 seconds, with a top speed of 200 mph easily reached in this $35,000 pocket rocket - with the adjustable wing retracted. With the wings deployed, the GT-ST will easily pull upwards of 1.2G on the skidpad thanks to its active pushrod suspension, and stop in 102 ft thanks to its massive brakes. All this while still returning an EPA estimated 31 mpg average, the new Sceptre is sure to please. At just $34,695, dealerships will begin to get the Sceptre one-by-one, with limited allocations divided throughout the network anually.

Sceptre RS-ST

With the same engine as the GT-ST, the RS-ST doesn’t have straight line performance as its target. Nor just a time on the track - the RS-ST is made to be an occasion. With over 500 lbs of downforce on each end, the RS-ST can pull over 1.4G on the skid pad, and costs the same as the GT-ST at the expense of comfort. Replacing the sports compound tires are slicks, the radio is gone, and centerlock wheels take the place of the GT-ST’s 5 lugs. This racing-inspired package is just $34,950, although only 1,500 will be produced. Deliveries will begin in mid-March.

The headlights were carefully designed to be as beautiful as it can be and also as technologically advanced with Matrix LED Lights. Laser lights are optional. Going to the rims, the shapes are carefully shaped and was make sure to blend in with the car. The side vents were also shaped to give the car a distinct look.
