OMW (Offenburg Motoren Werke)

Here is my new Lore company, im going to try and stick in Chronological order.
Backstory
OMW was founded in 1932, in Offenburg, Germany by Hermann Wagner and Sven Meyer and produced small tractors and other machinery. During WWII, production shifted to produce engines and other parts for naval ships. After the war, they started producing cheap cars to help get Germany back on the road. There 1st post war car was the Alpha, starting production in 1947.
1947 LINEUP

ALPHA

The OMW Alpha is a small rear-engines 2 door, which interestingly used a space frame chassis. The car was very light so small, economical engines were used to power it. The car came in 4 trims

1000G

The 1000G model was the cheapest, selling for $383.82 ($10500 today). It featured a 1.0l Boxer 4 with 38bhp, propelling the 580kg car to a top speed of 70MPH. Inside, the car featured 4 basic seats and no radio, and basic steel trim and wheels on the outside.

1000GL

The 1000GL was a slightly more luxurious model of the 1000G. It featured 4 standard seats and no radio. Powered by the same 38bhp boxer 4 and weighing 586kg, this car could achieve 70mph. It cost $393.13 ($10700 today)

1600GT

The 1600GT is the fastest model of the Alpha, Featuring a 1.6l inline 4 with a respectable 65BHP. The car weighed 712.4KG thanks to its bigger engine and inclusion of a premium radio. It had a top speed of 83MPH. The car cost $471.55 ($12900 Today)

1600GT roadster

This car is the same as the 1600Gt except it had a folding cloth roof. It wieghed 712.4KG and reached 83.5 with its 65 BHP 1.6 i4

PAPPE M1000

This is probably the strangest, most interesting and worst car OMW has ever built. It is a very cheap Microcar that uses the same engine as the basic Alphas, and thats the only good thing about it. To keep costs down and sell the car to even the poorest people, metal bodywork was scrapped and the car was built from wood attached to a steel space frame. The car came in only 1 trim, but has 2 “phases”, as they needed to find a new wood supplier after the 1st year of production, however the new wood was darker than the original. Both trims had a 38bhp 1.0l boxer 4 and weiged 454KG, and got a top speed of 63mph. Both contained 4 basic seats and no radio.
They costed $337.76 ($9240 today)

ROADSTER

The OMW roadster was the fastest ever car OMW had produced. It was a Rear-engine space frame design, with both versions using the same 1.6l I4 from high-end alphas, and used a 4 speed manual gearbox.

Convertible

The convertible model was the best selling version of the roadster. It had a cloth folding roof and weighed 849.9KG, and with 65BHP and decent aero could speed all the way up to 93.5 mph. It had 2 standard seats with no radio and cost $467.90 ($12800 today)

Coupe

The coupe was a cheaper car, yet its poor sales means you will not find a nice one today for anything less than a small fortune. It has the same 2 standard seats but no folding roof. It was lighter than the convertible at 758kg and somehow managed the magical 100MPH mark for its top speed, which was no small feat for that cost at the time. The car cost $438.65 ($12000 today)

TYP.1 SCHWERLAST

The schwerlast is a heavy duty can, featuring coil front and leaf rear suspension, along with a tourquey 2.7l I4 producing 87BHP and 186NM torque. It was not fancy, but it was built to last and loved by builders, crafters and delivery drivers all across the country. It had 2 version.

Panel Van

The panel van sold great in the heavy delivery market. It was big, basic and could haul 1376KG of tools, bricks, wood, drugs, whatever you want. It featured 2 basic seats with no radio but it was not built for comfort. It weighed 1194KG and could get a top speed of 95MPH, which is not bad for a brick with a 3 speed manual. Its handling, however, was awful. It cost $314.73 ($8610 today)

Passenger Van

The passenger van was literally the same as the panel van, but with window and different doors and fancier wheels. It had 8 basic seats with no radio, and was great for carrying a whole family or friends together. It weighed 1225 KG and had a top speed of 95MPH, which was more than enough for early autobahns. It costed $333 ($9110 Today)
