Question for NZers about car (body) parts

I guess there are better places to ask this, but I don’t know where.

I’m investigating the feasibility of replacing my NZ new 2007 blue sedan Honda Civic’s front bumper (mainly due to the paint flaking off, but also some damage) with one in very good condition. I don’t know anything about buying car parts (used or new): is this mission impossible, or is there some way this could happen?

Sure, I’d say either find one from a wrecker (would have to be like one that had been in a rear end accident), or buy a new one from a Honda dealer (expensive though I bet!)

Would have to get it painted if it wasn’t the right colour though, I’d guess that might be a $400 proposition.

Maybe also get a quote from a smash repairer, if it needs a new bumper and paint that’ll probably be the cheapest way to get it done well.

If you want so save on paint it probably wouldn’t look too good but you could plastidip it for like $30. Just look at same color wrecks because there are plenty of Civics
