Ridgewell-Jeong Motors (RJM)

Quite clearly then the only direct rival to the RJM 13R has to be the Baltazar Zepplin, which, being a 2011 car, is due a facelift soon.

The MSRP is a little-well, it’s in the ballpark of the real 370Z. Seems a little low for a car company that presumably can’t rely too much on economies of scale.

You see I thought so too, that as long as the car undercut and outperformed the 4C everything would be dandy, but the Automationsphere has other ideas

As the sports arm of a major car company that can spread the costs out? Definitely. As a small company that relies on them and them alone? Unless they’re unrealistically good to the point of nabbing the entire mid-level sports market by temselves, ain’t happening.

Having just shown the Albury CMS-20T elsewhere on these forums, I am now seriously considering comparing it against those three cars… I would like to see how well it stacks up against not just the 13R, but also an updated Zeppelin (if and when it arrives).

Pure Grand Tourer. Ridgewell-Jeong Motors 35SC.

Performance
RJM uncovered the 35SC Grand Tourer at the 2015 International Motor Show at Frankfurt. Ushering in a new generation of RJM grand touring automobiles, the 35SC has installed a 4th-generation twin-turbo 3.5l V8; in this application, it produces 546 HP at 8200 RPM. A smooth 6-Speed dual-clutch transmission is the only option on all 35SC models; mated to an electronic rear differential, 0 to 100 km/h is completed in under 4 seconds. The chassis is made completely from aluminium whilst the body shell is hand-crafted from carbon fiber. In turn, the weight is kept down to a relatively lithe 1561 kg (3,442 lbs). Magnetorheological dampers come standard on all 35SC’s, along with RJM’s Super-Control Grip Regulator (S-CGR) advanced traction control system; together, they provide grip levels comparable to those of other RJM mid-engine super cars. Carbon-ceramic brakes on all 4 wheels provide immense stopping power; the 35SC can stop from 100 km/h to a dead stop in a scant 28.7m (94.2 ft). The 35SC is the latest in a long line of RJM sports grand tourers, and it stands up to all of the heritage backing it.

Design and Ergonomics
The 35SC was designed from the ground up to be sleek, sexy, and aggressive. However, balance was important; the 35SC presents angular and rounded details together as one solid mass on the car. Dual side exhausts are a company favorite in terms of design details; by utilizing such a system, we were able to cut down weight by over 10 kg. The sound produced is tuned for musicality, with a sonorous note unique to RJM. A retractable rear spoiler is able to sense changes in speed and braking; at high speeds it retracts down for maximum stability, and in hard braking it moving up to act as an airbrake. On the inside, there is a 2+2 seating arrangement, and the interior is swathed in hand-stitched leather. An 11-speaker Burmester Sound System is standard along with an 7.5-inch infotainment screen and digital dashboard. Overall, the 35SC is car which has been crafted, not built, from the ground-up.

Ultimate technology put into the ultimate supercar. Ridgewell-Jeong Motors 35R.

Performance
RJM released the 35R to the public eye at the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Debuting a new generation of crossplane V8s, the 35R outputs a robust 606 HP and 416 lb-ft. With an electronic differential and a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission, 0 to 100 km/h is dealt with in a scant 3.4 seconds. An aluminium chassis, carbon panels, and weight-saving interior materials including a special synthetic Alcantara of which is 67% lighter than standard leather keeps the weight of the 35R under 1600 kgs. Magnetorheological dampers come standard on all 35R’s, along with RJM’s 3rd-generation Super-Control Grip Regulator (S-CGR) advanced traction control system. With the ability to modulate the suspension settings over 5 distinct disciplines and all within 1/2000 of a second, the 35R is prepared to handle any situation. Tuned at our Yeongam and Swinderby proving grounds, the 35R has not only been proven as a naturally sharp and responsive machine over numerous districts, but it has also beaten every road car track record from any production V8 RJM which is no small feat. With precision tuning and a perfect touch, the 35R is a supercar that showcases the technology and emotions, defining our company.

Design and Ergonomics
RJM displays a clear design ethos that permeates the rest of our lineup. With a wide and low stance, the 35R combines the historical proportions of British sports cars with modern Korean style. Aggressive fascias inspired by mythical Korean beings such as Bulgasari and Haetae along with a ferocity that is expected of a super sports machine. With an angular front fascia and distinctive, glaring headlights, the 35R makes a strong first impression. Flowing through the sides and into the rear uncovers an equally aggressive rear dominated by a carbon-fibre lower fascia and another sleek, angular rear that aids the engine’s cooling. The rear spoiler adjusts dynamically depending on the speed, with an unlimited amount of modulation allowing for a perfect amount of downforce at all speeds. Going on to the interior, an 11-speaker Burmester Sound System is standard along with an 7.5-inch infotainment screen and digital dashboard. The aforementioned Alcantara is luxurious and supple, with sports bucket seats keeping the driver and passenger in place. Carefully styled, well-appointed, the 35R is the RJM that propels us into the future.

The monster that devours all competition. Ridgewell-Jeong Motors Bulgasari.

Performance
After years of development, RJM finally unveils the production-ready Bulgasari at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show with great reception. Leading the lineup as RJM’s first true hypercar and named after the iron-eating monster of Korean mythology, a 7.0 Liter naturally-aspirated V12 sits behind the driver. With an astronomical 874 HP and a 9300 RPM redline, this completely unique powerplant propels the Bulgasari to a top speed of over 235 MPH. The suspension is comprised of a fully electronic system - adaptive dampers and active springs help give the Bulgasari razor-sharp driving characteristics. Despite the high-tech situation, the Bulgasari remains a very traditional car to drive, with hydraulic steering and skill-based rewards. These characteristics are exemplified by a mass of 1518 kgs and RWD; at the limit, the Bulgasari is designed for those of the highest racing expertise. The Yeongam and Swinderby proving grounds were used to tame the beast, but at a less radical pace the Bulgasari’s suspension goes into a smooth, comfortable setting and driving is generally much more comfortable. As a complete package, the Bulgasari is a hypercar with a grand touring twist - one that remains savagely powerful and intensely inclusive for the driver.

Design and Ergonomics
For the Bulgasari, RJM wanted to create a design that shifted the entire RJM lineup into a new decade; a new era of RJM. With a bold and elegant design that is uniquely Anglo-Korean, the presence of the Bulgasari is unmistakable. Our process for the Bulgasari was “stripped-down ferocity” - through the elegance of simplicity comes the assertiveness of design. With a distinctively striking front end, gracefully crafted rear, and cohesive shapes throughout the car, the Bulgasari is deceivingly rudimentary in its design. However, the devil lies in the details: for example, the headlights flow into the front lip seamlessly. The moonroof emulates the shape of the front and follows airflow all the way to the rear. Finally, the cooling grille has an intricate pattern that is hand-assembled from lightweight pieces of carbon fiber. The rear spoiler is seamlessly integrated into the overall design and is electronically adjustable, allowing for the BUlgasari’s 238 MPH top speed. Take a step into the inside and be greeted to a luxuriously appointed interior with leather sourced from a producer in Leeds, made especially for the Bulgasari. Although the standard appointed trim is polished Nacre, the customer is able to order carbon-fiber (polished or satin), brushed aluminum, body-color accents, or a variety of sustainably sourced wood from around the world. The standard 11-speaker Burmester Sound System is controlled through a vertically-mounted 8 inch touch screen control panel. No matter how you spec your Bulgasari, each one is individualized to the customer. The selection process to purchase the machine is comprehensive, but if you are selected as an owner then you will experience the beauty, serenity, and power of the Bulgasari.

I’d love a Bulgasari Royale test ride (and actually the 35R looks absolutely fantastic as well).

The 35R and Bulgasari are among your best works yet. If I were to have one of each, I would have the former in Belize Blue with a Jet Gray/Dreamscape Blue interior and body color trim accents, plus the Carbon R package, and the latter in Violet Iris with a black interior and Carbon trim accents.

The power figure seems a bit conservative, especially with 98 octane, but I guess the car’s better off without ~1500 hp to only the rear wheels. That would be a bit of a handful.

PUSHING THE LIMIT

OVERVIEW
The 35 Regalia is the product of the painstaking search for mid-engine perfection. Replacing the 35R, this is the most innovative, most advanced, and most focused supercar RJM has ever produced. It's not just about the numbers - experience the raw thrill that only a RJM could deliver.

DESIGN
Powerful and intense, the 35 Regalia's design makes copious use of negative and positive space like no other RJM has. Viewed from above, the greenhouse and glass roof accentuates the bodywork's shaping. Aerodynamic side molding flows gracefully from the angular front to the imposing rear. The signature RJ-shape headlights point to RJM's rich lineage.

Angular contours around the 35 Regalia convey bold emotions that respect past RJM vehicles whilst pushing the envelope into the future. The brutually sleek design is inspired by a tiger ready to pounce on its prey. A high-energy stance comes from the upward-swooping belt line, funneling air through the flying buttresses and onto the active rear spoiler.

INTERIOR
The cockpit takes on a fusion of state-of-the-art Korean design synthesized with traditional British luxury. An all-new 14 inch vertical control center manages all of the interior functions. A cutting-edge digital driver's display is fully customizable with layouts and colors or designated presets. Only the finest materials are employed inside, with upholstery available in leather and Alcantara.
