Scagliati Motori SpA - Serenity and Dominance. (Geneva 2019 Coverage)

Scagliati is honoured to have been nominated twice in the 2017 EOTY Awards (make sure to get out and vote!), and also to have made the shortlist in Spendid Auto Monthly’s Cars of the Year wrapup.

Thank you all for the support, and I hope what we have planned for the rest of the year and into 2018 will be to your liking - there is a lot of history to cover yet, as well as the introduction of the rest of Scagliati’s current model lineup as well!

Introducing the Scagliati Concetto Corse. Breaking New Ground.

Scagliati Concetto Corse, in Rosso Rubio

Scagliati Motori is proud to give you our latest concept car, the Concetto Corse. Scagliati has a long and storied history of building fine luxury and grand-touring automobiles, but that does not mean we have ignored the super sports car market either. The Concetto Corse is Scagliati’s own vision for a future super sports car; small, lightweight and agile, with cutting-edge technology to enhance the driving experience, as well as ensure the long-term sustainability of the super sports car.

Leveraging the SCALE Architecture underpinning the La Serenissima grand-tourer and Cinquetorri SUV, the Concetto Corse is the first mid-engine car to be based on this architecture, and also for the first time showcases our all-new electric hybrid-drive system, the Scagliati Superpotenza Ibrida or SSI for short. Controlled through the hybrid-exclusive iCAST system, the Concetto Corse can drive up to 15 kilometres on pure electric drive only, with the 500-horsepower, 2.9-litre Amadeo V6 joining in when the battery is depleted, or when the pilot demands more power from the system. Combined, the electric and combustion motors produce a combined 635 horsepower and 700 newton-metres of torque, with the electric motor providing instant torque to improve engine response and produce an experience comparable to a naturally-aspirated engine.

While the hybrid system does incur a weight penalty, the unique design of the SCALE architecture, combined with carbon-fibre body panels and lightweight interior, means that the Concetto Corse tips the scales at less than 1500 kilograms, giving the car incredible performance and agility, with the weight of the battery pack concentrated around the centre of gravity for the car in the central tunnel.

Serenity And Dominance. Introducing the 2019 Scagliati Il Dominante.

(Music for the reveal)

2019 Scagliati Il Dominante, in Blu Oltremare

Introducing the 2019 Scagliati Il Dominante, our fastest, finest and most exclusive automobile yet. Born of seventy years of experience building some of the finest luxury automobiles in the world, Il Dominante marries our signature luxury with pure, indomitable power, to produce a driving experience like no other on the planet.

2019 Scagliati Il Dominante in Opale

Il Dominante combines our proven SCALE carbon-fiber architecture with the most powerful version of our Amadeo V12 yet, a 5.8 litre turbocharged unit producing over 1100 horsepower from 7500 to 9000 RPM, and 1060 newton-metres of torque at 7100 RPM. To put this power to the ground, Scagliati has adapted the TISE all-wheel drive system developed for the Cinquetorri luxury SUV to suit the unique driving experience demanded by Il Dominante. With a static split of 38 percent front and 62 percent rear, TISE can automatically send up between 0 and 60 percent to the front axles, with torque vectoring at the rear to help the car through corners. Automatically-deployed wing elements front and rear adjust downforce levels in accordance with demand and driving mode, allowing Il Dominante to lap the Nordschleife in seven minutes flat.

2019 Scagliati Il Dominante front detail

Inside Il Dominante, the interior will feel immediately at home to any existing Scagliati owner, with a pilot-focused instrument cluster, including head-up display and traffic, navigation and status cues, along with Scagliati’s familiar CAST system to control drive modes. As you would expect from any Scagliati, the interior is hand-crafted by our team of the finest craftsmen and women that Venice has to offer, with only the finest natural and sustainable materials finding their way into Il Dominante’s cabin.

2019 Scagliati Il Dominante rear quarter, in Rosso Rubio

Il Dominante also demonstrates that while a hypercar must be fast, it does not necessarily mean that it must also be needlessly harmful to the environment. Il Dominante achieves 9.2 litres/100 kilometres in the Automation Combined Fuel Economy Cycle, and produces only 39.8 emissions units in the same test. Engine stop/start functionality, plus a special sub-mode for the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission in Stradale mode allows for exceptional fuel economy figures, and with the generous storage area behind the seats, allows Il Dominante to be used as a continent-crossing GT car in the same vein as La Serenissima.

The Essence Of Dominance. The 2018 Corse Scagliati La Serenissima GTE.

2018 Corse Scagliati La Serenissima GTE, in Rosso Veneto

Scagliati has a long and storied racing history, going back to the very first Scagliatis built in 1947. Today, this proud tradition will be carried on by the La Serenissima GTE, our effort for the AMWEC season to come. La Serenissima GTE has undergone a dramatic total transformation, from luxurious GT car, to focused and hardened race car, under the supervision of Christoforo Scagliati, head of Corse Scagliati and heir to the Scagliati name.

Weighing in at just over 1300 kilograms, La Serenissima GTE is propelled by a specially-developed, rules-compliant 4-litre version of the Amadeo V12 engine found across the Scagliati lineup, and produces well over 700 horsepower, driving the car though a special six-speed racing sequential gearbox. Numerous other changes have been made to the suspension, drivetrain and brakes from the roadgoing version - in fact, many of these changes, such as conventional suspension and steel brakes, are distinct downgrades from La Serenissima the road car!

A unique aero package, designed to maximise downforce and air extraction, has been fitted to La Serenissima GTE, with special attention going to the crucial front-end aerodynamics. Vortex generators, similar to those fitted to La Serenissima Quattrocento, have been fitted to the roof to smooth airflow at the separation point, reducing drag and increasing the effectiveness of the rear wing.

A double-deck diffuser has been fitted to the rear of the car, working with the underbody aero to increase rear downforce and stability at high speeds, while the transmission and differential coolers have been relocated to the rear of the car, as evidenced by the intake and exhaust cutouts in the aluminium trunk lid.

La Serenissima GTE is already in the initial stages of testing at the CMW Group’s proving grounds in Germany, with an announcement on which series the teams will be competing in expected in time.

2019 Scagliati Ducale, in Zaffiro

Scagliati is proud to present the 2019 Ducale, an ultra-luxurious limousine for our most exclusive clients. The Ducale takes luxury and craftsmanship to an entirely new level, with each car being hand-assembled by our expert craftsmen at the Scagliati Speicale workshop in Mirano, Italy. Carbon-fiber body panels are painted by hand in an exacting process where up to twenty coats of paint are applied, then hand-sanded and polished to give a high-quality finish and a paint depth not possible in mechanised processes.

Inside the Ducale, the four-seat interior is designed with the two rear passengers in mind, with full-reclining seats covered in any of a thousand different leather, synthetic and non-leather options, in any combination. In-seat heating, cooling and massage are standard in both seats, as are a set of noise-cancelling headphones that can connect with the rear-seat entertainment package. For each passenger, a 40-centimetre screen is provided, along with built-in controls to access the car’s media package, which includes internet connectivity, satellite radio, and access to any media that the Ducale’s owner provides, either present in the car or through a wide range of streaming services. A 30-speaker, 2900-watt surround sound system has been engineered to provide the finest in audio fidelity, with the ability to adjust acoustics to match the most famous concert halls in the world.

Double-glazed windows, with standard electrochromic tint, dampen wind noise and provide privacy for the passengers of the Ducale, and a high-efficency climate control system provides ample heat and cooling, even when the Ducale is first started, along with HEPA-quality air filtration for all occupants. An optional electrochromic glass screen can provide separation from the driver and the passenger compartment for the ultimate in privacy.

Under the hood of the Ducale, The 5.7-litre Amadeo turbocharged V12 is standard, producing 662 horsepower and 856 Newton-metres of torque, giving the Ducale a more relaxed, refined character than its more sporting siblings in the La Serenissima lineup. Introducing the 2019 Scagliati Zoccarato - Power And Poise.

2019 Scagliati Zoccarato in Arancia Cachi

Scagliati is proud to introduce to you our latest small sports touring car, the 2019 Scagliati Zoccarato. Based on the high-technology, all-carbon fibre SCALE Architecture of our other model lines, the Zoccarato represents the more sporting half of our entry-level model lineup. Make no mistake, though, this car is still very much a Scagliati through and through, with a sharp, responsive chassis, a powerful yet dignified engine and the finest Venetian craftsmanship swadding both pilot and passenger in the finest of luxury.

Power for the Zoccarato comes from the turbocharged, 2.9-litre inline-6 that is found in the open-top Zoccarato Scoperta, but is now tuned to an impressive output of 502 horsepower and 465 newton-metres. Coupled to a seven-speed double clutch gearbox and driving the rear wheels through our CAST-controlled electronic rear differential, the Zoccarato sprints from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in 3.8 seconds, and returns a combined 7.0 litres per 100 kilometres in Automation Combined Cycle Fuel Economy standard testing.

Inside the Zoccarato, you will find the very same attention to detail and luxury that only befits a Scagliati, with both pilot and passenger cossetted in lightweight but sumptuously comfortable carbon-fibre backed seats wrapped in the finest leathers and synthetic materials (see your Scagliati Atelier for detailed information and availability). The cockpit is pilot-oriented, with all functions and displays laid out for quick, safe and easy dissemination and operation of the Zoccarato. Instruments consist of a central tachometer with a multi-function display in the middle, along with two flanking OLED screens for navigation, infotainment and vehicle systems information.

The orderbook for the Zoccarato is open today, with prices starting at $145,525. First deliveries of the Zoccarato are expected to begin in the first part of Q3 of this year.

Introducing the Scagliati La Tempesta - The Ultimate Expression of Speed.

Scagliati La Tempesta, in Plutonio

Scagliati is proud to present our most exclusive and refined automobile to date, La Tempesta. Like the towering storm from which it derives its name, La Tempesta shakes the earth with its thunderous engine, the ultimate version of Scagliati’s Amadeo V12. Generating over sixteen hundred horsepower, La Tempesta sacrifices everything in the pursuit of speed, with La Tempesta sprinting from a standstill to 300 kilometres per hour in less than ten seconds, and on to a top speed of over 480 kilometres per hour.

The interior has undergone an extensive rework over the Il Dominante upon which it is based, with extensive use of lightweight materials, and a set of fixed carbon-fibre seats for both pilot and passenger; driving position is instead adjusted by a moveable steering column and pedal box. Elsewhere in the interior, only the comforts deemed absolutely essential to the enjoyment of the car remain; everything else has been stripped away in the pursuit of light weight.

Outside, the bodywork has been carefully sculpted in the wind tunnel for the lowest drag possible, with every aspect of the car being scrutinised in the finest detail. Cooling for the powertrain has been optimised to the finest degree, and the rear bodywork has been completely reworked with a longer, lower tail and a more efficient, low-drag rear wing. The engine air intake is now a flush duct on the carbon-fibre rear deck of the car, the enormous air requirement of the engine helping to keep the airflow over the car closer to the body, and reducing the drag-inducing turbulent zone behind the car. A complicated ventilation system in the rear decking helps evacuate heat when the car is standing still, and also helps to reduce the turbulent wake over the rear body sections, helping increase the effectiveness of the wing.

La Tempesta will be one of the most exclusive cars Scagliati has ever made, with a total production run of 74 units only, all of them being offered to our most valued clients selected from a very strongly attended selection process. Every selectee was flown to the Scagliati factory in Mirano, where they spent two days touring the production lines, taking in the history of our marque as well as customising their car, all while enjoying the finest in accomodations and cuisine. La Tempesta will be an expression of each selectee’s own tastes and desires; no two La Tempestas will be the same. While all units have been sold, the asking price for La Tempesta was $1.14 million, with colour options and interior customisations extra.
