Sell on Monday, Win on Sunday [Finished]

I’m not too optimistic about the sports bracket, still can’t wait to see how it pans out though!

Great reviews, Leo!

And I didn’t do as badly as I thought I would. There’s (almost) hope yet!

Thank you all for your positive feedback, it really means a lot!

Do you have any criticisms/suggestions for things that I should change/you want to see before I start dealing with the sport versions?

As the last place finisher - thank you for all the work you have put in so far. Are you eliminating us, or are you combining these results with the sport results?

If you wanted to do this just for fun, you could highlight the maximum and minimum scores for each column in the summary table, but I think it’s good as-is.

Great idea, shouldn’t be too hard to do. In fact, I’ll make those changes to the eco table already and edit this post to add it.

EDIT: I remembered why I hadn’t done this before, it looks very ugly now . Anyway, I have highlighted the 3 best and worst, just in case.

It may be ugly, but it’s pretty awesome.

(I am deeply amused by having my scores equally split between “average”, “terrible”, and “great”.)

 my car is so “nothing special” its phenomenal g

Oh, wow - the Murina FC is the median car on Comfort and Performance. Exactly 14th out of 27. Thirteen higher, thirteen lower.

And it’s a pity that my Desirability is only 9.58 - if it were between 13.89 and 27.61, the Murina FC would have two scores that were exactly third place, two scores that were exactly third from last, and two dead in the middle. My car is the first choice for practical+cheap and the last (among those not eliminated) for safe+prestigious.

(The median cars in the other stats are Pyrlix’s BAN Nimbox E for Safety, torts’s Coco HS for Desirability, Tycondero’s Astana Robin 1.3 Eco S for Livability, and WoarLord’s VA Cityrunner for Costs.)

To to fillup this thread so it doesn’t feel abandoned i thought i should post a pic of my sportsversion.

Thanks to Racefox for photoshopping it.

And here is the pre-season test, you can now send me the revisions for the racing cars. If your car isn’t there, I’m afraid you have been cut.

I’m confused, if my Eco car gets cut does that mean I can’t participate in the race events?

Exactly. That was the whole point of the system. If, like yours, the car had to cut costs everywhere to compensate for it’s usage of fibre glass or other stuff that would clearly influence the outcome of the race, it was to be cut. This was, in my mind, a challenge for normal cars first and foremost, which just happened to go racing, not the other way around.

About the revisions, they are open from now until Monday, 17th, 20:00 UTC/GMT. I have kept the original files, so I’ll detect if you cheat (in this case, changing the suspension layout - from torsion beam to double wishbones, for example -, body and chassis materials, engine layout and materials), you’ll be immediately disqualified.

So much for all that performance technology if I can’t use any of it. :frowning: I’ll admit my car was more than likely cut because I worked from the race version backwards,

Ah well, can’t win em all. I wish the best of luck to the competitors.

I feel pretty lucky to have made it all the way to the races - I’m looking forward to seeing how my Sport trim fared relative to the competition.

(Hmm … I’m not far off the lead pack for time and I’m right on par for tyre wear, but I have a significant fuel disadvantage. No driver errors during testing, however. I’ll have to decide how to tune it based on that.)

Made the cut, but there’s no way I can tweak that much more out of it to catch up to the front of the pack. At least wear and fuel usage are reasonable.

Hum. My car appears to suffer from relative lack of speed. Better make handling more aggressive!

EDIT: Quick question Leo, how many races are there? Just the one? And if so, is it on the AT track?

There will be 4 races. The tracklist is so secret that even I don’t know it yet.

Of course I have told Der Bayer which tracks I want. But I forgot what they are

After considerable discussion between the driver and the engineers, LHEs Sports car team bowed out to let the LHEs Race Vehicle Team (RVT) work on the vehicle to help further improve its handling.

Significant gains were had, but will they be enough?

Oh, and how long are the races? :stuck_out_tongue: gotta factor in the wear
