Another Update.
The Taurus got knocked into a curb by a moron in an Escalade. The impact messed up the transmission, so I decided to get rid of it. I was going to sell it for scrap, but one of the guys looking to buy it offered to trade me for another car:
A 2003 Honda Civic EX sedan
It was either that or $200 in cash. It was a good deal if you ask me. That being said, it wasn’t running when I bought it. But all it took to revive it was a new fuel pump relay. I’ve had the car for about 2 months now, and I’ve put about 4,000 trouble free miles on it since.
Hasn’t been all good, as much like the Galant, this car was hit within a week of me starting to drive it.
It got sideswiped by a Mazda Protoge that crashed into the wall of the store i work at. That was a crazy day.
Lucky for me, the damage is purely cosmetic, so it’s still a cheap and reliable commuter.
It has the D17A2 1.7L I4 and a 4 speed automatic (I wanted a manual, but this was too cheap to pass up). It has a slow coolant leak somewhere, but I’m about to change the thermostat and radiator hoses, so that should get rid of it. Other than that, it has no problems.
Edit: I also traded in the Sable for my other car, which I’ll get around to posting eventually…
