What are you on about? Seriously? Not just politically, but in terms of this game? You say this competition is going to be judged by votes, which implies that the presentation of the car is going to be of importance, and then you have the cheek to disqualify someone just because they happen to be talented in this area and offer up some criticism? That’s not just a case of double standards, it’s very selfish.
And let me tell you, I am having to restrain myself from offering a counter rant to your political rant where you seem to think that capitalism is under any threat at all and that the United States has spent the past 8 years under a Socialist administration. Where does that even begin to factor into Automation without a superbly well written canon?
This will be last time that I criticise your competition or the way that you have acted on this thread. I urge you once more, if you wish to host this competition and any further ones, to please read the comments that we are giving you, and respond to them in a constructive manner. Believe me, these are all valuable tips from people who have hosted competitions on these forums on many occasions and have built up a good reputation as a result.

I gave you every opportunity to realize I was trying to help you. I like seeing diverse and prolific challenges in the topic. It would be nice if you could be one of the regular reputable contributors. However, it is becoming abundantly clear that you are too dense or lack the competency to host a challenge that any respectable forum member would dare participate in, you insular peasant.
No. When did I ever say that? Squidhead was pointing out a flaw in your rules. He was doing so in a much more pointed and comical manner than I was doing. I was generally suggesting that this whole thing was crap and provided personal and community resources that would lead you to improve the challenge.
Are you? No, seriously. Are you actually doing anything to host this challenge other than spitting out a crap set of rules with a million ambiguities and discrepancies that only you can comprehend? As soon as you made this thread you had several members that pointed out places for you to improve. Instead of addressing those, you made a post that changed a whole host of rules that were not reflected in the original post. Then you disqualified squidhead for pointing out that your whole “challenge” could be defeated with Photoshop. He didn’t even submit a picture that could have been Photoshopped.
And how’s that going for you? You’ll notice (or you would if you took 30 seconds to look around and see how this all works rather than polluting the topic with your cancerous excuse for a challenge) that most challenge hosts never enter their own challenges. At most, they build a reference car that is included in the scoring after the final reveal that has no chance of placing.
Why’s that? Because, we know we like our own cars. This is an exercise in getting the community to build a vehicle we may be interested in to determine which one meets our criteria for best X or Y.
No. Which is why there needs to be a neutral arbitrator (read: challenge host) that collects all the cars, verifies the stats, and then conducts his or her own judgements.
We’re not in the real world… We’re in a car game where any fantasy can be created within game parameters. Usually, a challenge is sculpted to such a fantasy and, when well thought out, results in a merry competition enjoyed by all.

What are you even talking about with this crap. Photoshopping a lap time, stats, or final costs is nowhere near the level of what would bring the wrath of federal regulatory agencies or plaintiff’s attorneys. This isn’t product liability. It’s a car game.

A portion of my earnings that the government takes in order to fund its functions. (Or theft, depends on the day.) You can have capitalism and tax. The two aren’t mutually exclusive.
Fantastic. Thus, it must be easy for you to see - at this point - that humility, openness to constructive criticism, and taking the time to educate yourself about hosting a challenge creates enjoyable competition that would have us all eager to join.
Now would you look at that, you have none of those things and therefore you currently have a crap challenge. Instead of attacking every piece of criticism you get, try asking yourself why you’re getting all of it. Or don’t and continue to wonder why you get jumped on every time your fingers make contact with your keyboard. The latter is honestly more comical.
@CNCharger, I have created many failed competitions in the past, and I know that the most important thing to improve your challenges are the people’s suggestions, even after you have left the competition. People have told me things that I can use in the next challenge I create (which I probably won’t) to improve the rules, make people happy, and make things better for me. Instead of you doing that you complain about the viewers input. That doesn’t help anything, it only ruins your reputation.
I think I’d liken a photoshopped car to something along the lines of a boob job, not a corporation completely lying about their products in every way. Lol.

Ok, so no racing exhaut pipe, must be a beta thing, im using stable, so I don’t have that option yet. I do use racing exhaust headers though. I’m also looking below sports and see stuff like hand made and luxury, does that mean that I can use stuff above sports? You’re just confusing people on purpose, aren’t you? Also you’ve changed the top speed rule, cause my car was being built serious like, and was faster than 190 KPH, not MPH. And now you’ve outlawed the thing!

All you need to do is build one car that is fully compliant to specs, and one that isn’t but is tons faster due to using restricted parts. Pic the one compliant as proof of beling scrutinized and legal, and then just post laptimes of one that’s not legal for the challenge. You get easy win, since only me and Cncharger have to publicly share the car.

It might be an idea to get someone that’s got more experience of putting the challenges out to have a read through your idea and suggest any tweaks or improvements before posting it up. It’s not good to have threads constantly ending up like this. Just try and perhaps be a little less defensive of people trying to help.
