The Automation Endurance Challenge II [RACE 1 Results]

The LMP body is clearly a different class. Outrageous!

(Starts testing for GT-Pro)

actually, i found another body which is superior in lap times. which is the one i think i’ll be entering here.

Currently there are 10 different teams in total right now. All teams have signed up for GT-AM, and 9 teams signed up for GT-PRO. I have not set a limit to how many teams there can be in each class, but I might set a limit. This is because it will take some time to process each car from each team. But do not worry if you have not yet signed up, there is still room for more teams!

I also want to remind every team that has used any mods to send me the links to all the mods. Simply just giving me the name of the mod is not enough, as it makes everything a lot easier for me if you give me the link to the mod. Links are required, take a look at the rules:

You may use fixture and body mods to create your unique car. If you use that, include a link to the mod(s). […] If you link me to a website that isn’t trustworthy, I might refuse to accept that entry.

There are already many entries, and I will not start processing the cars I have received as the deadline is May 1st, and some teams have sent me updated files as they forgot to double check the regulations and/or did some changes. Some people have stated that they will sign up soon, they just need to work some more on their cars. That means I will have a lot of cars to process. So if you have sent me your application form and cars but not the mod links (if you used any mods) within the deadline then I will disqualify you from that race.

Everyone that haven’t sent me any mod links or only mod names should have received a PM that I need those mod links.

Can’t remember if I used any mods but you’ll be able to cover most by subscribing to this collection http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=469666352

Looking at your entry now. You did not mention mods at all. I would like you to just check if you used any mods and then send me a PM if you used any mods and send the links.

For everyone else that have sent me their cars and not mentioned anything about mods, please make sure that if you used any mods you send me the links. It is 7 days until the deadline, so you got plenty of time to check.

Edit:
I have spent some time to make a list. This list includes team names, who the team members are, what the files are named to make it easier for me, and also if you used mods or not and all the links. Currently two teams have been marked with Mods:* Unknown. This means that I do not know if your team is using mods or not. You probably didn’t mention mods at all in your entry form. I will use this to keep track of which links I have received, and I will contact those teams that need to tell me if they are using mods or not. But I will point out that I have a lot of work to do to keep this challenge running as there are many teams. This means that you have to remember to send me links to any mods that your team have used, it is not my responsibility.

ErinSport have released more photos of their entrants into the AEC II. First up is the GTLite-16 S1:

This car will be entering into GT-Pro, with its 350 bhp 2.5l Twin Turbo V6 providing a lightweight, reliable power source. The chassis has remained very much unchanged from the GTLite platform it is based off of, and that in itself was a platform made for endurance racing.

And secondly, the Tauga Coupe Super Touring:

Essentially, this is the exact same car as the normal Tauga Coupe, except it has an all-aluminium body and a redesigned internal chassis. The original 2.0l engine has been morphed into a larger 2.2l i4 Turbo to improve efficiency and make the most of the budget.

Both cars are using a specially developed, high quality transmission system that mates a 7 speed double clutch sequential to a dual-LSD all wheel drive system that provides dynamic grip control and delivers power without a hitch.

ErinSport wishes all competitors the best of luck.

For GT-PRO, Riso Motorsports will enter the Hornet GT116

Double wishbones front and rear, glued alu monocoque and alu panels and six gear double clutch sequential.

You people have no idea how difficult it was to turn this 3.5l V6 into a turbo within the limits. Especially economy. Plus the game’s buggy and keeps resetting the engine year of 2016 to the base models 2009.

A last reminder:

Read the rules carefully. Links to mods that you have used must be sent to me within the deadline. If you only say that you have used Steam Workshop mods and do not provide any links, or only give me the name of the mod but no links, that is a violation of the rules. There are a lot of entries that I need to go through. It saves me a lot of time if I have the links.

I have a list that I will work my way through, and I keep all the links there. If I see a team marked with “Mods:* No links received” after the deadline, then I will disqualify that team from that race. I will not bother to contact those teams and ask for the links, you had your chance. At the bottom of my list, I have some notes. In capital letters I wrote this: ANY MISSING MOD LINKS = DSQ FROM THAT RACE. NO ARGUING. READ THE RULES.
So read the rules, it states that links to any mods you have used must be included. Anyone sending me an entry from now on will receive a reply where I include the rules if you have forgotten something that the rules state that you have to include.

steam links are okay right?
also why the so strict mod links? do you really dislike mods that much?

since i usually just subscribe most mods on the steam workshop and forget about it, especially ones that are in a collection, it’s a bit of a pain to collect the links one by one.

not to mention that i don’t exactly remember which is a mod and which is not, since that feature hasn’t been implemented yet… so it’s pretty possible i will get DQed just because i forgot that 1 single insignificant fixture is a mod, and not provide the link to it. which is frankly pretty silly

Steam links are fantastic, as I trust mods on Steam to not contain any scary stuff more than I trust random websites. I do not dislike mods at all, but I recently bought a new computer which means I have a fresh Automation install with only a few engines and cars and no mods. I also haven’t really used lots of Automation mods.

I want the links because I like to organize stuff. I have for example made a list that helps me to keep everything under control for this challenge, as some teams had some interesting names for their files, or maybe only sent one file. Also, some teams have used A LOT of mods, mods that very few or no other team have used. I honestly do not have the time to dig around the Steam Workshop for mods if one car uses some mod that no one else uses and I need to find that one mod to get it to load properly.

The reason why I keep reminding you guys about including mod links is because even some of the latest entries just include “Mods*: yes” or “Mods*: many workshop mods”. That makes me wonder how many actually read the rules. And I remind you guys because I don’t want you to get DSQ for silly reasons that could have been avoided.

i see… that just proves that you quite the opposite me. in which i mean
SPAM ALL THE MODS! :stuck_out_tongue:

i frankly don’t care what mods people use as long is it’s on the workshop. can’t load it? just look for the newest mods, since i’m usually somewhat pretty updated with the mods…

anyway. that explained it for me thanks for the clarification, and sorry if you feel offended.

i can’t be bothered to look up the links so i guess i’ll just make do with the fixtures that i think are vanilla

In the launcher options you can set the game to use only vanilla content. In case you don’t want to guess, just use that option while you are building the car for the challenge.

Just to be 100% sure, we can lower the safety quality as long as it’s standard or higher, right?

There’s a reason everyone just uses pyrlix mod collection for challenges. It’s curated and easy to use.

Yes, you can lower the safety quality as long as it’s standard or higher.

it is the base game 2.33m wheelbase body. i think that is the one generally referred to as the “porsche body”

Oh, it’s the Datsun. You tweaked it pretty well.

This is the not-Porsche http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=650765856

oh well, it is a body. i didnt even Change that much, it is amazing how much you can do with fictures.

btw: maybe it would make sense to comee up with something like the “generally accepted modpack” for challenges that is updated regularly.

Not the Datsun, but the Austin Healey 3000 body that was added in the December update.

well, here is my entry for the AM-Class:
