You people have no idea how difficult it was to turn this 3.5l V6 into a turbo within the limits. Especially economy. Plus the game’s buggy and keeps resetting the engine year of 2016 to the base models 2009.
Read the rules carefully. Links to mods that you have used must be sent to me within the deadline. If you only say that you have used Steam Workshop mods and do not provide any links, or only give me the name of the mod but no links, that is a violation of the rules. There are a lot of entries that I need to go through. It saves me a lot of time if I have the links.
I have a list that I will work my way through, and I keep all the links there. If I see a team marked with “Mods:* No links received” after the deadline, then I will disqualify that team from that race. I will not bother to contact those teams and ask for the links, you had your chance. At the bottom of my list, I have some notes. In capital letters I wrote this: ANY MISSING MOD LINKS = DSQ FROM THAT RACE. NO ARGUING. READ THE RULES.
So read the rules, it states that links to any mods you have used must be included. Anyone sending me an entry from now on will receive a reply where I include the rules if you have forgotten something that the rules state that you have to include.
steam links are okay right?
also why the so strict mod links? do you really dislike mods that much?
since i usually just subscribe most mods on the steam workshop and forget about it, especially ones that are in a collection, it’s a bit of a pain to collect the links one by one.
not to mention that i don’t exactly remember which is a mod and which is not, since that feature hasn’t been implemented yet… so it’s pretty possible i will get DQed just because i forgot that 1 single insignificant fixture is a mod, and not provide the link to it. which is frankly pretty silly
Steam links are fantastic, as I trust mods on Steam to not contain any scary stuff more than I trust random websites. I do not dislike mods at all, but I recently bought a new computer which means I have a fresh Automation install with only a few engines and cars and no mods. I also haven’t really used lots of Automation mods.
I want the links because I like to organize stuff. I have for example made a list that helps me to keep everything under control for this challenge, as some teams had some interesting names for their files, or maybe only sent one file. Also, some teams have used A LOT of mods, mods that very few or no other team have used. I honestly do not have the time to dig around the Steam Workshop for mods if one car uses some mod that no one else uses and I need to find that one mod to get it to load properly.
The reason why I keep reminding you guys about including mod links is because even some of the latest entries just include “Mods*: yes” or “Mods*: many workshop mods”. That makes me wonder how many actually read the rules. And I remind you guys because I don’t want you to get DSQ for silly reasons that could have been avoided.
i see… that just proves that you quite the opposite me. in which i mean
SPAM ALL THE MODS!
i frankly don’t care what mods people use as long is it’s on the workshop. can’t load it? just look for the newest mods, since i’m usually somewhat pretty updated with the mods…
anyway. that explained it for me thanks for the clarification, and sorry if you feel offended.
i can’t be bothered to look up the links so i guess i’ll just make do with the fixtures that i think are vanilla
In the launcher options you can set the game to use only vanilla content. In case you don’t want to guess, just use that option while you are building the car for the challenge.
I made a Steam Workshop collection for all the mods used in the AECII. So if your mod is not here, send me a PM and just give me the link and I will add it. As far as I know I have added all the mods that I have received links for, but I will double check that!
Update: So far 15 total entries (15 GT-AM teams and 14 GT-PRO teams). One team claimed that they used Steam Workshop mods but did not include any links. As I understand that many people are subscribed to many Steam Workshop mods and it might be difficult to know which one you have actually used, any teams that haven’t sent any links will be allowed to enter as long as their cars load up fine as I have subscribed to all the mods you have linked me to.
If you still haven’t signed up, there is less than 12 hours left to do so!
I did say ‘within one week’, and the 5th is a holiday, so no work to do, and the 6th I don’t have any work to do either, so the plan is to go through all entries those two days and hopefully release the results Friday or Saturday.
