The official AMW thread - 2024 AMW Phoenix

Greetings, petrolheads! This is my new thread. As you know, DQE went broke but fortunately, i was able to take out a loan and build a whole new company, AMW. AMW is not an austrian label of BMW, but it stands for Austrian Motoring Wonderland. Why wonderland? Because we sell you exotic looking cars of pretty much any category you can think of (other than SUVs and mid-engined sports cars which will be coming as soon as they are in the game, as well as “real” estate cars because i dislike the Skoda Fabia bodyshell).
What the DQE thread was lacking is some sort of overview, and that’s tricky with almost 20 different models. So i decided to make a list here.

When i write “-rivals: none”, i’m referring to real world models.
That’s it for today. As soon as a new model comes out or one of the existing models is revised, i’ll post it here and add it to the overview!
To “order” a car, just PM me (or post a message here) and tell me what platform and what model you want (also the colour if you like), i’ll send you the model file per PM.

Greets,
Tom

Good line up! Some look more decent than others, but overall well done!

Good to see all the old models. Make sure you keep up the love/hate styling, it’s what makes your thread unique .

Is there any reason you switched from DQE to AMW?

yes there is. It’s because this new thread is now well-structured, i have thought out a plan for doing so. Also, my way of designing a car has changed significantly from when i started DQE. Plus, nobody knew which models were actually for sale, which ones were currently produced, it was hard to keep track of what was going on (12 pages of total chaos). This will change now. Also, “Design, Quality, Emotion” could be a slogan for any brand, for instance a company that produces fridges or shovels or microwaves. In addition to that, “Design, Quality, Emotion” sounds like a triumvirate of the 3 objective features that make a car good, whereas “Wonderland” says much more about emotion and exclusivity.
These are some of the reasons why i decided to open a new company. I hope that explains things a bit

Greets,
Tom

I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a shovel that was designed with emotion

But thanks for clearing things up.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a shovel that was designed with emotion

Or a microwave or fridge for that matter.

They can say that about pretty much anything, whether it’s true or not. Marketing gags, you know… If someone shows you a well-designed, high-quality fridge, saying it was built with emotion, many people will believe that. the point is: it didn’t really refer to cars.

Regardless of the name, the new layout is much better!

Thanks! The way this new plan works is this: when i post another car, i will post a reply here which will contain the new car’s name, the stats (maybe of more than one engine, we’ll see), some small previews of various colours and the platform file. Then, i’ll edit the first post and add a bigger front and rear view like all the current cars. If someone likes it, they can PM me and order the car they want in their preferred colour and with their preferred engine.

Greets,
Tom

Hey guys! Today i’m going to show you the stats of the complete Eagle line-up, except for the HP. Now there’s 2 engine blocks, a 2.5L I6 and a 4.0L V8. Both of them come with 5 set-ups: eco (turbo only), fun NA, fun turbo, sport NA, sport turbo. In case you’re wondering: fun means more power and better responsiveness than eco, but not a whole lot thirstier. Also, the entry-level now uses the same 2.0L I4T as you find in the hatchbacks, producing 160hp. I changed the first post accordingly. You might also notice that the top version now gets 450hp instead of 440, that’s because the 450hp engine in the Leo uses the same block, so i thought i might as well put the same engine into the Eagle. Let’s move on with the list then.
The stats on the left refer to the coupe version, the stats on the right refer to the saloon version. All variants are RWD, have premium interiour, standard entertainment, advanced safety and all driving aids except launch control.

2.0 eco (price: 30.000€)

Alright, so much for the engine stats. here’s a selection of available colours:

Be prepared for more posts of this kind :smiling_imp:

Greets,

Eagle Saloon - Rev - 0.lua (43.2 KB)
Eagle Coupe - Rev - 0.lua (42 KB)

Now the Eagle line-up will be completed: the HP is here! I edited the first post and deleted the line saying that there will be a performance-dedicated thread like the Speed Academy was. There won’t. Why? Because i think there’s no need for it when i have quite a good overview of my models in the original post.

The coupe and the saloon are both made entirely from aluminium, like the standard Eagle models. That way, despite significant engine, suspension and gearbox changes, it will still be less expensive (while more powerful and lighter) than the BMW M3 and M4 which are the same sort of size.
Under the bonnet is the same 5.2L twin-turbo V8 as before and it still makes 700hp. It feeds its power to the rear wheels via a 7-speed double-clutch gearbox. This allows the Eagle HP to accelerate up to speeds of over 370km/h which is significantly faster than any BMW currently in production, it’s even a few km/h faster than the 800hp BMW M6 tuned by G-Power in Germany (some of you might have heard of that car).
Aesthetically, the front of the HP has some extra vents over the standard Eagle, including those on the bonnet, as well as another grille with a chrome strip right in the center. On the back end, you’ll find 4 exhaust instead of 2, two wings for better stability and the bottom braking lights are now circular and covered in chrome.
On the inside, you get premium interiour, 4 seats (in the coupe and in the saloon), premium entertainment, all driver aids except launch control, and advanced safety features.

So here’s the Eagle HP Coupe!
http://i62.tinypic.com/23v16rc.png http://i61.tinypic.com/28luw6v.png

And here’s the Eagle HP Saloon!
http://i57.tinypic.com/fonps1.png http://i58.tinypic.com/vrbgx2.png

Despite the HP name which stands for High Performance, it’s not just a very fast car, it’s also built to be everyday usable. Hence the 4 seats and premium equipment as well as a big boot. It’s not the most comfortable car in the world but when you put your right foot down, you’ll understand why. Also, i don’t think there currently is a production car with 700 ore more hp and less than 10.5l/100km of fuel consumption in the real world, other than the McLaren P1 and the Porsche 918 which both cost more than a million €. While 10.5l/100km (or about 22mpg) is not particularly great for an everyday car, this only behaves like an average car as long as you drive it like one. Considering the amount of power, i think it’s not too thirsty.

Order your today! the only available colour is black. If you want one, i’ll send you the model file via PM!

Greets,
Tom

Eagle HP Coupe - Rev - 0.lua (50.4 KB)

I love the spoiler and the taillights! And the stats are solid. You never fail to impress me .

The rear end of the HP looks extremely angry!

It does indeed! It’s also the perspective that 99% of the other drivers on the roads will see. And thanks pleb! I am satisfied with how the taillights turned out, i think they look both classic and futuristic. Now that i think about it, the HP must be a really fun car to drive on a track, with 700hp and RWD only, if you turn the traction control off you might see some spectacular sideways angles!

I would certainly feel intimidated if I pulled up behind that beast in my little ecobox :stuck_out_tongue:

I can believe that  But it would probably show up on normal streets pretty rarely. Mostly on highways, mountain roads and race tracks.

Must have awesome wheelspin off the line!

Have some more performance cars!
Let’s start with the fastest one, the new Dragonfly (no SR abbreviation needed since this is now the only available Dragonfly, the smaller ones didn’t sell enough copies to justify keeping them in production).
Now the Dragonfly has changed not only aesthetically, compared to the previous generation. It also generates more downforce than before, has an even cleverer suspension setup and FINALLY, the engine has been reworked. It’s still the same 4.0 TT V8 block but the turbo setup has changed so it produces no longer 750 but 825hp. In a hatchback that weighs just 1249kg. Also, you now get 315mm semi slicks front and rear as well as the same 7-speed double-clutch gearbox as before.
The result of all that is 0-100km/h in 2.4 seconds, a quarter-mile time of 9.6 seconds @ 243km/h, and a track time of 128.9 seconds round the Automation track.

http://i59.tinypic.com/28v6mp1.png http://i57.tinypic.com/2u7m7uv.png

Included in the 150.000€ price tag are racing buckets with racing seatbelts, AWD, better acceleration than the 1 million € McLaren P1, and of course a choice of colours:
Midnight blue (as shown), royal blue, black, white, maroon or lime green
http://i60.tinypic.com/1z527hi.png http://i61.tinypic.com/2lm135z.png http://i57.tinypic.com/2q2rc61.png http://i60.tinypic.com/2ikyzvr.png http://i60.tinypic.com/2zf0l5t.png

Let’s move on with the Sparrow HP and Puma HP!
These two now share the same design because they are the same size and have similar rivals. The Sparrow HP’s main rivals are the Porsche Cayman S and the BMW M235i (and by the way, i love that BMW model). The Puma HP’s main rivals are the Subaru WRX STI which can’t keep up, as well as the Mercedes CLA 45 AMG which can’t keep up either.
The engine is the same in both cars, it’s a 2.5L turbocharged I4 with 375hp which will be replaced by a 2.5L TT V4 as soon as those come out because i love the exclusivity and sound of the V4 engine.
Aesthetically, there are 2 more vents and 2 thin grilles which surround the badge that is now in the center of the front end, rather than on the bonnet. On the back, you now get a wing and a sporty looking black grille + vents on the very bottom.
Since the Sparrow HP’s main rivals are all RWD, it gets RWD whereas the Puma HP’s main rivals are AWD and that’s why it gets AWD. Other than that, they both share the same 7-speed double-clutch gearbox, premium interiour with standard entertainment, advanced safety and the same suspension setup.

Here’s the design! The Sparrow HP is on the left, the Puma HP on the right. The standard colour is royal blue for both of them.
http://i61.tinypic.com/i765ub.png http://i62.tinypic.com/2gu0d46.png
http://i60.tinypic.com/2u4pus8.png http://i57.tinypic.com/72zyvs.png

The stats of the two cars vary because as i said, the Sparrow is RWD and the Puma is AWD
http://i57.tinypic.com/1zv7vy0.jpg http://i57.tinypic.com/2lwlhl0.jpg

However, both are 50.000€ and available in the same colours. Aside from Royal blue, as shown, you get a choice between:
midnight blue, maroon, black, dark green or deep orange.
http://i61.tinypic.com/2edpk6a.png http://i58.tinypic.com/2yw96pt.png http://i61.tinypic.com/16baqew.png http://i61.tinypic.com/2yx5iyh.png http://i62.tinypic.com/72aa9c.png

Last but not least, i’m going to share the platform files with you guys! Take a look at them and tell me what model and what colour you want, and i’ll send it to you via PM!

Greets,
Tom

The Dragonfly seems to be superb on a race track!
