Drunston is inspired mostly by the contemporary layouts of Silverstone and Hockenheim. Long straights, fast corners and a slow stadium section at the end. ................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

ROUND 1 - PREVIEW

Distance: 503.33km
Laps: 117

The first ever round of the OTCC is the Tourist Trophy, a 500km race around Drunston. This track was built in the mid 60s and has seen no layout changes since its debut. Drunston is one of the busiest tracks on Orisia and also hosts a Formula Orisia Grand Prix as well as a Sporstcar Championship round. The track is very flat, with an elevation difference of only 7 meters and no noticeable changes.

TRACK LAYOUT

Drunston features three long straights but the high speed corners is where time is gained on this track. A slow final sector makes it hard to nail the setup for this track. Interestingly, Drunston only has one left handed corner, the rest of them are right handed. The pit lane is the second shortest in the season, so pit stops will be relatively fast here.

Track Length: 4.302km
Direction: Clockwise
Elevation Difference: 7m
Pit Lane Length: 770m
Pit Stop Time: ~73s

ROUND 1 - RACE

The Drunston Tourist Trophy had a clean start, but it wasn’t long before the first issues. On lap 14 the #600 Sconto had to retire with mechanical issues. The same would happen to the #12 Oberon on lap 18, who had just taken their first stop two laps earlier. The Last-Minute Lugheads Kurosakes stopped on the same lap and the Hexe Oberons followed a lap later.

Also on lap 18, the #6 Kaiserin car hit a wall and had to carry the damage for 15 laps until it was repaired on the next stop. The #348 privateer Velt had a spin coming out of the pits on lap 27, but it kept going without any issues. Both of the Garage One-Five cars took their first stops on lap 38. By that time, some of the thirstier cars were already on their second stop.

The #13 Flatline Vorstentelg had to make a quick emergency stop on lap 48, and the #878 Rennara spun three laps later. Both of them were able to keep going without any further issues. Not so lucky was Sven Larsson who crashed the #45 car and had to retire from the race.

More drama would come on lap 70 as the #5 Zacspeed, the division 2 leader, started smoking and had to pull into the pits. The team managed to keep the car going but it lost 6 laps to the overall leader. More mechanical issues would happen to the #99 Phénix which blew its engine on lap 78 and had to retire.

The second half of the race proved to be hard for both cars and drivers, as the #973 Rennara suffered a heavy crash on lap 86 and had to retire and just a lap later the #7 Kaiserin had to take an emergency stop and lost 4 laps to the leaders. The #190 Bovos Drakus also had to go into the pits on lap 92, losing a lap to the leaders.

On lap 97 the #1 Zacspeed and the #483 Springwell Velt hit each other and spun. The #71 TurbĂłl also had a spin on lap 107, losing a position to its sister car. These three cars kept going without any damage.

On the last laps, the #601 Delattre Durd and the #432 Vitreo FMW crashed. The Vitreo car suffered damage but carried on to finish the race but the Delattre car had to retire with a broken suspension.

After 3 hours and 11 minutes, the #33 Lunascura crossed the line in first, completing the 117 laps and winning the race overall. The sister car followed less than a second away with third place a lap down after a perfect race from the team.

The #1 Zacspeed followed a few seconds later to win division 2 and take an overall podium. The #6 Kaiserin took the win in division 1 a minute later, finishing the race 22nd overall.

Really surprised with the perfomance of my privater team, the car is slower than my rejected div 1 car. I guess the tortoise has a chance of winning over some hares

 the first DNF award is my

The main inspiration for Brunhe is of course Monaco. The first and last corners as well as the tight hairpin are the biggest giveaways. Pau and Montjuic are also inspirations. ................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

For the second round of the season the OTCC will be acting as a support series for the Herschteinn Grand Prix at Brunhe. The first races in the streets of Brunhe took place from 1933 to 1937. After a hiatus lasting over a decade, racing returned in the late 40s with a slightly extended layout that is still in use to this day and has now become a staple of Orisian motorsport. Elevation changes are moderate but there are some considerable climbs and drops.

TRACK LAYOUT

Brunhe is the slowest track in the season, with a very tight and technical layout. Most corners are slow but there are also a few medium speed corners. Acceleration and low speed cornering are key for a good result here. The pit lane is the second longest in the season so stops are expected to be longer.

ROUND 2 - RACE

The second race of the OTCC took place on the morning before the Grand Prix. The Zacspeeds took the overall lead of the race in the early stages, with the TurbĂłl and Lunascura cars closely following them as the battled for the Division 3 lead.

The first laps were uneventful until on lap 16, just as the first cars started to take their first stops, the #601 Delattre Durd had a spin. The #53 Hoffsman hit the barriers trying to avoid it and received some damaged that got repaired a few laps latter when it pitted for fuel.

On lap 26 the #303 Lunascura crashed into the barriers as it attempted a risky overtake on it’s teammate. The car was too damaged to continue and had to retire.

Not much happened on the following laps until the surviving Lunascura had a spin on lap 45 that took it out of contention for the win. Just three laps later, the Zacspeeds had to take a second stop to make it to the end, giving away the overall lead to the TurbĂłl cars but crucially keeping the class lead.

On the final laps of the race, the Division 1 leader was battling for position with the #13 Flatline Racing car when they crashed. The #7 Kaiserin retired immediately while the #13 tried to keep going only to retire a lap latter.

The #41 TurbĂłl took the overall and Division 3 wins after 59 laps with a time of 2 hours and 4 minutes. The #71 took second with the #5 Zacspeed 15 seconds behind taking 3rd overall and a class win. The #6 Kaiserin took the second win in a row in Division 1 and finished the race 33rd overall.

ok, wagon is not best body type for low speed corners

Marada-Porta is mostly inspired by the old Spa-Francorchamps and the classic French road circuits like Le Mans, Reims-Gueux and Rouen-Les-Essarts. ................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Fast and unforgiving, Marada-Porta was once considered a staple of the Grand Prix and Sportscar Championships. The track saw multiple layout changes through the years, but despite attemps to modernise it, both series left in the early 70s. With slower cars, the new Touring Car Championship saw the opportunity and became the new main event at Marada for the 72 season.

TRACK LAYOUT

Marada-Porta is, by far, the fastest track in the calendar with expected average speeds over 200km/h and top speeds over 275km/h. There’s a couple of slow corners but most of them are medium to high speed. Top speed is key here but gearing is also important, some cars might hit the limiter towards the end of the massive straight. Marada has some big drops and climbs along it’s 13 kilometer layout. The pit lane is a bit on the longer side but not by much.

Fun fact the highest top speed of any car was the Scuderia Scarcelli Corse privateer Hexe at exactly 300km/h!!!

@donutsnail @Xepy if you’re going to send additional liveries for the next round please do it as soon as posible.

ROUND 3 - RACE

Round 3 had an exciting start with battles for the lead on all 3 divisions. On lap 7 the #25 Hexe Oberon crash and got some light damage that was repaired on its next stop, and four laps later the #12 factory Oberon had a spin but kept going without damage.

The first retirements of the race came on lap 14 as the #83 Vorstentelg and the #600 Sconto suffered mechanical issues. The #47 Mara also retired on lap 17 after getting heavy damage on a crash.

More mechanical issues on the following laps as the #222 Comanche and the #199 MTL Ryuji pulled into the pits. The former had to retire, while the latter managed to keep racing after losing two laps to the overall leaders.

A massive crash involving six cars on lap 23 took out the #66 Phénix, with the #41 Turból, the #69 Bovos and the #85 Vorstentelg also retiring with heavy damage on the following laps. The #11 factory Oberon and the #29 Hexe Oberon got away with just a spin.

The long straights on Marada-Porta proved to be hard on the engines as the #555 Scarcelli Hexe and the #84 Vorstentelg had to make emergency stops on laps 25 and 26 respectively and the #29 Hexe Oberon retired a lap later. The #49 Mara had a spin on lap 28. On that same lap the remaining privateer Oberon had a spin and a few laps later had to make an emergency stop to fix a mechanical issue.

On lap 31 the #66 Phénix and the #12 Oberon hit each other and had a spin but both of them kept going without damage. The #666 privater Kurosake also had to make an emergency stop and the #973 Rennara had a spin on lap 37.

With two thirds of the race down the gaps started to grow. In division 3 the TurbĂłls could not follow the pace of the Lunascuras; in division 2 the Scarcelli Hexes could match the pace of the Zacspeeds but not their fuel strategy; in division 1 it was surprisingly the Garage One-Five Ikedas that started to pull away both on pace and on strategy.

On lap 39 the #5 Zacspeed had to retire with mechanical issues. The #348 privateer Springwell also retired three laps later after a heavy crash. A few lap later the #223 Comanche had to make an emergency stop and lost time later again with a spin.

The #24 ACZ also crashed a few laps later and had to carry the damage until the end of the race. Nearing the end of the race the #48 Mara spun, same as #303 Lunascura who lost the overall lead to its teammate because of it.

The #33 Lunascura won overall and in division 3 with an average speed of over 200km/h, with the #1 Zacspeed taking a third victory in a row for the team in division 2 and finishing 4th overall. In division 1 the #45 won and finished 31st overall with Garage One-Five taking a 1-2 finish and their first win of the season.

Oof, a tough race for my Vorstentelgs. Two DNFs out of three aint good :face_with_peeking_eye:. Glad the privateer team with Vorstentelgs (Flatline) is doing better though. So well they overtook the factory team in the team championship
