A few weeks ago at the Tokyo Motor Show, Merciel unveiled the JR4 Verona Concept. However, it wasn’t right to just show off the concept design, so here at LA, we’re showing off the new 2018 Merciel Verona. The specific model on display at the booth is the Verona Touring Sports Package. The standard model features 5 leather seats, parking sensors, a surround sound system, emergency braking assist and AndroidAuto connectivity. The Sports Package differs from the standard models with stiffer, lower suspension, carbon-ceramic brakes, an electronically controlled viscous slip-differential and the SP 1.7L i6 engine, producing 200hp and reaching redline at 10,000RPM mated to a 6 speed manual transmission. Prices for the Touring SP start at $26,100.

Of course, while showing off our standard models is fun, giving a sneak preview at our 2018 WRC entry is much more fun. So here it is. The 2018 Merciel Rally Vixen Concept. While strictly a concept design at the moment, the engineers at Merciel’s Factory Rally team have worked wonders, modifying the facelifted 2018 Merciel Vixen to get it ready for the 2018 season. Using the same inline 4 engine (albeit downsized to 1.6L) which powered the old WRC Merciel Vixen, which won three consecutive championships from 2005-2008, the new Vixen should be capable of keeping Merciel racing at the highest level of rallying.

Last, but certainly not least, we have our new 2018 Merciel Corsaire GTE. With a more aggressive stance and an new upgraded 3.5L i6 Turbo powerplant, the new Corsaire GTE will now not only look good, but will be much faster. While the technical details are unavailable at the moment, all that is known is that the Corsaire GTE is has a lightweight and durable kevlar reinforced fibreglass body fitted to the standard Merciel Corsaire’s glued aluminium monocoque and subframe chassis. For those who want to purchase a car like this, it is sadly not for sale. However due to FIA regulations, those willing to spend up to $295,000 for the homologation spec of the car can do so. Only a limited number of these homologation specs will be made so if you’re interested, make sure to send in an order to the Merciel Sport Touring Car Team.
