Onto the next entry: the Kuruma Allegro. The developers start looking around the car but there is not much on here to take a look at. Even though the car has a somewhat nice design going on, the car lacks any details, and the elements that are present aren’t very detailed either. Overall, because the car doesn’t have many details, there isn’t much that keeps you looking at it, resulting in the car looking quite dull and boring. The developers take some notes but unfortunately, this car isn’t detailed enough to give many comments on.

Moving onto the tuned car, the car actually has a body kit, which is nice. The front end got some minor modifications. The rear now has a massive spoiler, but it looks quite weird since it is attached to the rear window somehow. The car has some stickers, and the 2-tone doesn’t look that bad either. However, the biggest flaw the modified car has are the wheels. They look way too modern for 2005, and the glowing elements are not it, giving the car an unrealistic look. Because of the issues this car has, the developers have decided that this car is not going to make the finals.

Verdict: eliminated!

The following entry is the Larroque Durace, another French automobile. First impressions are rather okay-ish. The front end has a lot of different elements like grilles and vents which are little excessive as they don’t really seem to connect with each other in any way. The front indicator design is also a little bit too much. However, the developers do like the little logos at each end of the assembly. The sides are kept simple, featuring a trim piece that goes all the way to the rear, covering up the side wheels along the way, which is a nice touch. At the rear however, there are large taillights arranged in a big rectangle, which doesn’t match the existing body lines very much. At the corners, they warp around the sides in an awkward way, resulting in a messy look. Overall, the developers aren’t quite impressed with this starter car, but maybe the modified car can redeem itself…

Unfortunately, the modified car completely missed the vibe. The developers immediately notice a lot of flaws: first of all, the front end is now even more cluttered than before. The headlights are partially covered, yet the silver outline is still present, which looks awkward. The front fog lights also feel a little bit out of place. As the developers take a look at the sides, more issues are noted: the car now features large mud flaps, and together with the wheels and the front fog lights, they give it a rally car look rather than a tuned car one. The rear remained mostly the same. However, the louvres on the rear window are actually quite nice. There are once again some sponsor stickers, but also a pair of lines going from the hood all the way to the trunk of the car. Overall, the developers aren’t really fond of this car, so they have decided to pass on this one as well.

Verdict: eliminated!

The developers take a look at the following entry, the Oni Nodachi, and fortunately, first impressions are very good. First of all, the front fascia looks very mean and aggressive, which is appropriate for this type of car. The lower front design is nice too, although the developers do have one issue: the indicators. They a little out of place, as if they were thrown on there last minute. It also doesn’t help that they’re rectangles compared to the round headlights and fog lights. Moving along the sides, the developers notice the side moulding under the windows, which appears a little bit forced but it works. The side skirts are really nice. The rear end of the car features some very good-looking taillights. The developers also notice the rear reflectors, which seem to mimic the front indicator design. This time around though, they look better because the shape of the taillights are rectangles too. The developers agree that, even though the fixtures look a little bit messy in some places, the car is a very good candidate for a starter car for the player.

Now onto the modified car and oh my god what a transformation is that! The car has received major upgrades to turn it into a proper street racer. The fenders are widened, giving it an even meaner face. The front has a new splitter as well to match and the fog lights have been swapped out for extra vents. The body kit continues down the sides, and the rear end has gotten an upgrade too. The central exhaust looks amazing, and the developers also notice the new taillights. However, some developers think that those would have looked better if they were completely clear, instead of having orange glass for the indicators. Where this car absolutely shines though is the livery. It looks really cool, and the colour combination is very nice as well. The car also features a lot of sponsor stickers, as well as window banners on the front and rear. The developers have no words. This is exactly what they were looking for. Will this car go to the next round? Hell yes!

Verdict: moves on to the finals!

Up next is another coupé, the Ragnarock Hargrove. And wow, this is another good looker for sure. The front end looks badass, with those nostril hood scoops. The front end also features pop-up headlights, which look nice, and separated indicators & fog lights. The developers also notice the secondary logo on the lower fascia, which is a cool touch. The front splitter gradually flows into the side skirts, with a small side vent near the rear wheels. The way that the mirrors are mounted onto the body is also very nice. Moving on to the rear, some developers note how the rear end seems a little tall, with that spoiler that almost goes around the entire trunk, which is weird since the overhangs and the car itself are already massive. Further down the rear there is another secondary logo on the bumper which is a nice touch as well. The taillights could’ve been more detailed, but overall, the developers approve of the car and move on to the tuner version.

Once again, the developers are stunned! Just like the previous entry, the car got a complete make-over. First of all, the body kit looks really nice and aggressive (Although some parts around the side skirts and rear bumper looks a little bit messy). The headlights have been swapped out for fixed ones, and the badass hood scoop is gone too. Further down the sides, the developers note that the livery looks a little bit tame compared to the previous entry for example, as there aren’t many elements like stickers. However, even if it’s simple, the grey section on the sides does look pretty nice. The developers take a look at the rear, where all the body panels have been upgraded too. The wing looks cool, and the new exhausts are a nice feature as well. However, once the developers have been inspecting the car for some time, one issue starts to become clear: the cars don’t look… alike..? Now of course, the developers did ask for the modified car to get a complete transformation. But in this case, the car has changed so much that it becomes difficult to see what the original car was (an issue that other entries don’t have). The shape of the headlights and taillights is completely different, the panel lining is altered, even the way that the mirrors are mounted to the body has been changed. However, this is still a stunning entry, and the developers can definitely see potential in this car, so they have decided that it will go to the next round as well.

Verdict: moves onto the finals!

Our next car is the Ebasu Marshall StageSport, the only wagon entry. First impressions start off good. The front design looks good, with the headlights in particular being a very nice feature. The bumper has a crease that flows all the way around the car, and the lower fascia even has a small splitter, nice. The developers approve of the front, so they move on to the sides. This is where things go a little wayward however, starting with the side profile: the front A-pillar is very far back, and it is very steep as well. Together with the rather long wheelbase and tall roof, it gives the car a cartoon-ish look. The rear end doesn’t help either. The developers note how the taillights sit pretty low, giving it very awkward proportions. The rear bumper, as well as the side skirts are nice though.

Moving onto the tuned car and… it looks okay. The front end is once again pretty good. The new bumper looks nice, and the hood looks good as well. The headlights could’ve stayed unchanged however, some developers think. Moving along the sides is where the livery starts to become visible. That, however, doesn’t look very good. Whilst the developers appreciate the effort put into it, it is arranged in a way that all the elements look scattered around the sides, looking a bit messy in the end. Together with the tire texture, it gives the car a cluttered look. The rear got a new bumper, but nothing else particularly of note. Overall, while this car has some strong traits like the front end, this just isn’t as good as other entries, so the developers have unfortunately decided to pass on this one.

Verdict: eliminated!

The next entry is the Yamaguchi Armade, a coupé from the late 90s. The developers start looking around the car, but it appears a bit underwhelming compared to other entries. However, it does have some good features, starting with the front: the headlights and grille are arranged in a single bar, which looks nice. The end of the assembly could’ve been rounded off, some developers think. The rest of the front features a simple grille design and a very thin trim piece. Moving along the sides is where the car starts to look a little tall though. The ride height is very high and compared with the plastic cladding at the bottom, it gives the car an offroad-y feel. The trim pieces at the sides also don’t seem to line up at all, which looks messy and it also does not extend past the door, which is weird. The car also lacks any moulding or surfacing. The rear end features the taillights, which actually don’t look that bad. The spoiler does look a bit too square, and the moulding at the trunk looks questionable too. Even though the car has some good features, the developers aren’t really impressed with this entry at the moment.

Now the developers take a look at the modified car and oh my god, this one completely missed the vibe as well. All of the different elements look out of place, with the hood scoops taking it a step too far. The front bumper is from a different era of car design, and it doesn’t fit the style either. The livery is questionable, and the stickers don’t match the colour of the car very well. The wheels are probably the worst part: they look like an oversized version of some economy car hubcaps. Overall, the car feels like a spam of premade fixtures, rather than a well thought out design. The tuned car completely missed the mark, so the developers quickly decide to move on to the next entry.

Verdict: eliminated!

Up next is the Sanada Yurei. First impressions are decent, but not really good. The front has a nice design, and the headlights and grilles line up well, not bad. However, just like the previous entry, the car lacks any form of detailing beyond having the basic elements like lights and mirrors, which becomes more noticeable once the developers take a look at the sides. Apart from the trim piece at the bottom, there is nothing breaking it up, making the car look uninteresting. The lights at the rear look okay, but the way that it is split up looks really strange with the car now having 4 reverse lights. And just like the front, it is almost completely made out of premade fixtures, which makes it look less well made.

The developers move on to the modified car, which looks equally dull, even if it has all the bells and whistles of a tuner car. The black carbon fibre paint mostly contributes to this, as it hides the already scarce amount of detailing of the car, and the wheels are painted the same colour as well. At least the text on the tyres spices it up a bit. The front end got some small upgrades, And the fender flares are wider too, which all seems to look good. The rear end features a few stickers, but apart from that, nothing else livery wise has been added. The taillights look a little nicer, but the diffuser does have some issues: It doesn’t seem to fit the rest of the styling of the car, and the exhausts being placed above them is a bit weird. Overall, this isn’t one of the best cars that the developers have seen, so they decide to pass on this entry as well..

The following entry is the Kurosake Sunligth, a similar styled car as the previous entry. Once again, first impressions are good. The headlights at the front have a nice mean shape, and the lower fascia looks fine as well. The way that the thin grille between the headlights is placed looks a bit strange though, and the front plate could’ve moved to the centre of the car. The rear has some moulding going on at the bottom, but it looks too forced, and just like the previous entry, the sides lack anything interesting going on. The taillights look okay, but the separated reverse lights are a bit too much. The rear bumper is extended further using a bumper bar, but it doesn’t match the original body, so it looks forced as well. The wheels look nice though.

The modified version is another car that has under glow, nice. The new front bumper is not as nice however, as it looks somewhat ugly. The grille is very horizontal and upright, which together with the way that the rest of the body kit is applied, makes the car appear really tall. The livery is better, although the white paint doesn’t seem to match the golden wheels. The rear is where things go from okay to a bit bad. There are so many different elements that are placed weirdly. The exhausts clip with the diffuser, and the vents next to the taillights are not it either. After taking one more look at the standard car, the developers have decided to also pass on this entry.

Verdict: eliminated!

Onto the next entry: the Aruma Keshee. First impressions start off really strong: first of all, the front end looks really good. The headlights in particular have a nice shape. The front bumper looks realistic and smooth, and the developers can clearly tell that a lot of thought has been put into it. The grille in between the headlights makes it look like a fish in some angles though, but it’s okay. The sides look equally as nice, like the way that the small vent is integrated into the design, the door panel line that goes all the way along the roof of the car, and the side skirts. The proportions are satisfying as well. The taillights have a really funky design, yet it somehow works so well with the rest of the car. The moulding at the rear complements the design language, and the exhaust area is nice too. The aforementioned panel lining is really smooth and makes sense, which gives the car a realistic appearance. The developers come to the conclusion that this is a really good candidate for a starter car, so they move on to the tuned version.

Once again, the developers are stunned! For starters, the body kit is absolutely amazing. The developers can tell that a lot of thought was put into making it fit around the body. Especially at the rear, where the panels go just under the taillights, complementing the already good-looking lights even more. The side vents are integrated nicely into the design as well. Going back to the front, the top grille is still there, but the actual bumper itself got a complete make-over, looking very wide which matches the wide fenders of the body kit. The rear bumper does look a little bit too squared off, especially when looking directly in front of it. The spoiler might be a little bit tame compared to the rest of the styling, but overall, it’s still pretty nice. Another great feature this car has is the livery. Whilst it might not be as colourful as other entries, it still looks awesome and it also follows the body lines, flowing from the tip of the taillights all the way into the side vent, very nice. The developers are really, really impressed with this car. This car is definitely going to the next round!

Verdict: moves onto the finals!

And last but not least, we have the Nanahoshi Anima. First impressions are decent. The styling is simple yet looks good, with the side trim piece in particular being a nice addition. The lower grille mesh is a bit messy though, with it being placed in 3D and it partially clipping with the fog lights. This car has another issue once the developers take a look at the sides: the car looks really tall, and the rather small wheels don’t help either. Together with the really low side skirts and front bumper, it gives the car a clumsy look. The rear is a lot better though: the taillights look really good, and they fit the car really well. The black trim continues nicely along the rear bumper as well. Surfacing is not the smoothest, but not a huge issue either.

The developers move on to the modified car. Fortunately, the tall-ness of the stock car has largely been resolved with the very wide body kit. The pop-up headlights are swapped out for fixed ones, which look realistic and a lot nicer. The trim pieces on the front and the sides could have been removed like on the rear though. The livery looks good, but the wheels… not so much. Surfacing is also a bit worse than the untuned version as well, with some areas like the front fenders and the side vents having a lot of colliding fixtures, giving it a somewhat unfinished look. However, the rear is once again a lot better than the rest of the car. The taillights look very cool and the bumper trim below integrates satisfyingly into the rear fenders. The spoiler is a nice addition as well. After taking another look at the car, the developers decide that this car does have some cool features but overall, this entry just isn’t as good as the finalists. Unfortunately, this car will not make it to the next round.

Verdict: eliminated!

I would also like to wish everyone a happy and healthy new year!

Can’t say I’m at all surprised about my car. I’ve only just started to actually try and design modified cars at all.

I’m sure if I can be bothered to make more modified variations of my cars, then I’ll get better at it.

just wanted to say this is the era for this kinda stuff. veilside, abflug, top secret, RE-Amemiya, saleen, callaway, RUF, alpina, Tommykaira.

not to tell you how to judge since your the one with the vision but there are a good amount of halo cars in games and movies that fall into these styles.

like the most famous example from fast and the furious is the veilside from tokyo drift

NSX

that was in the background somewhere idk  but yea solid review love it
