Onto the next entry: the Kuruma Allegro. The developers start looking around the car but there is not much on here to take a look at. Even though the car has a somewhat nice design going on, the car lacks any details, and the elements that are present aren’t very detailed either. Overall, because the car doesn’t have many details, there isn’t much that keeps you looking at it, resulting in the car looking quite dull and boring. The developers take some notes but unfortunately, this car isn’t detailed enough to give many comments on.
Moving onto the tuned car, the car actually has a body kit, which is nice. The front end got some minor modifications. The rear now has a massive spoiler, but it looks quite weird since it is attached to the rear window somehow. The car has some stickers, and the 2-tone doesn’t look that bad either. However, the biggest flaw the modified car has are the wheels. They look way too modern for 2005, and the glowing elements are not it, giving the car an unrealistic look. Because of the issues this car has, the developers have decided that this car is not going to make the finals.

The following entry is the Larroque Durace, another French automobile. First impressions are rather okay-ish. The front end has a lot of different elements like grilles and vents which are little excessive as they don’t really seem to connect with each other in any way. The front indicator design is also a little bit too much. However, the developers do like the little logos at each end of the assembly. The sides are kept simple, featuring a trim piece that goes all the way to the rear, covering up the side wheels along the way, which is a nice touch. At the rear however, there are large taillights arranged in a big rectangle, which doesn’t match the existing body lines very much. At the corners, they warp around the sides in an awkward way, resulting in a messy look. Overall, the developers aren’t quite impressed with this starter car, but maybe the modified car can redeem itself…
Unfortunately, the modified car completely missed the vibe. The developers immediately notice a lot of flaws: first of all, the front end is now even more cluttered than before. The headlights are partially covered, yet the silver outline is still present, which looks awkward. The front fog lights also feel a little bit out of place. As the developers take a look at the sides, more issues are noted: the car now features large mud flaps, and together with the wheels and the front fog lights, they give it a rally car look rather than a tuned car one. The rear remained mostly the same. However, the louvres on the rear window are actually quite nice. There are once again some sponsor stickers, but also a pair of lines going from the hood all the way to the trunk of the car. Overall, the developers aren’t really fond of this car, so they have decided to pass on this one as well.

The developers take a look at the following entry, the Oni Nodachi, and fortunately, first impressions are very good. First of all, the front fascia looks very mean and aggressive, which is appropriate for this type of car. The lower front design is nice too, although the developers do have one issue: the indicators. They a little out of place, as if they were thrown on there last minute. It also doesn’t help that they’re rectangles compared to the round headlights and fog lights. Moving along the sides, the developers notice the side moulding under the windows, which appears a little bit forced but it works. The side skirts are really nice. The rear end of the car features some very good-looking taillights. The developers also notice the rear reflectors, which seem to mimic the front indicator design. This time around though, they look better because the shape of the taillights are rectangles too. The developers agree that, even though the fixtures look a little bit messy in some places, the car is a very good candidate for a starter car for the player.
Now onto the modified car and oh my god what a transformation is that! The car has received major upgrades to turn it into a proper street racer. The fenders are widened, giving it an even meaner face. The front has a new splitter as well to match and the fog lights have been swapped out for extra vents. The body kit continues down the sides, and the rear end has gotten an upgrade too. The central exhaust looks amazing, and the developers also notice the new taillights. However, some developers think that those would have looked better if they were completely clear, instead of having orange glass for the indicators. Where this car absolutely shines though is the livery. It looks really cool, and the colour combination is very nice as well. The car also features a lot of sponsor stickers, as well as window banners on the front and rear. The developers have no words. This is exactly what they were looking for. Will this car go to the next round? Hell yes!

Up next is another coupé, the Ragnarock Hargrove. And wow, this is another good looker for sure. The front end looks badass, with those nostril hood scoops. The front end also features pop-up headlights, which look nice, and separated indicators & fog lights. The developers also notice the secondary logo on the lower fascia, which is a cool touch. The front splitter gradually flows into the side skirts, with a small side vent near the rear wheels. The way that the mirrors are mounted onto the body is also very nice. Moving on to the rear, some developers note how the rear end seems a little tall, with that spoiler that almost goes around the entire trunk, which is weird since the overhangs and the car itself are already massive. Further down the rear there is another secondary logo on the bumper which is a nice touch as well. The taillights could’ve been more detailed, but overall, the developers approve of the car and move on to the tuner version.
Once again, the developers are stunned! Just like the previous entry, the car got a complete make-over. First of all, the body kit looks really nice and aggressive (Although some parts around the side skirts and rear bumper looks a little bit messy). The headlights have been swapped out for fixed ones, and the badass hood scoop is gone too. Further down the sides, the developers note that the livery looks a little bit tame compared to the previous entry for example, as there aren’t many elements like stickers. However, even if it’s simple, the grey section on the sides does look pretty nice. The developers take a look at the rear, where all the body panels have been upgraded too. The wing looks cool, and the new exhausts are a nice feature as well. However, once the developers have been inspecting the car for some time, one issue starts to become clear: the cars don’t look… alike..? Now of course, the developers did ask for the modified car to get a complete transformation. But in this case, the car has changed so much that it becomes difficult to see what the original car was (an issue that other entries don’t have). The shape of the headlights and taillights is completely different, the panel lining is altered, even the way that the mirrors are mounted to the body has been changed. However, this is still a stunning entry, and the developers can definitely see potential in this car, so they have decided that it will go to the next round as well.

Our next car is the Ebasu Marshall StageSport, the only wagon entry. First impressions start off good. The front design looks good, with the headlights in particular being a very nice feature. The bumper has a crease that flows all the way around the car, and the lower fascia even has a small splitter, nice. The developers approve of the front, so they move on to the sides. This is where things go a little wayward however, starting with the side profile: the front A-pillar is very far back, and it is very steep as well. Together with the rather long wheelbase and tall roof, it gives the car a cartoon-ish look. The rear end doesn’t help either. The developers note how the taillights sit pretty low, giving it very awkward proportions. The rear bumper, as well as the side skirts are nice though.
Moving onto the tuned car and… it looks okay. The front end is once again pretty good. The new bumper looks nice, and the hood looks good as well. The headlights could’ve stayed unchanged however, some developers think. Moving along the sides is where the livery starts to become visible. That, however, doesn’t look very good. Whilst the developers appreciate the effort put into it, it is arranged in a way that all the elements look scattered around the sides, looking a bit messy in the end. Together with the tire texture, it gives the car a cluttered look. The rear got a new bumper, but nothing else particularly of note. Overall, while this car has some strong traits like the front end, this just isn’t as good as other entries, so the developers have unfortunately decided to pass on this one.

The next entry is the Yamaguchi Armade, a coupé from the late 90s. The developers start looking around the car, but it appears a bit underwhelming compared to other entries. However, it does have some good features, starting with the front: the headlights and grille are arranged in a single bar, which looks nice. The end of the assembly could’ve been rounded off, some developers think. The rest of the front features a simple grille design and a very thin trim piece. Moving along the sides is where the car starts to look a little tall though. The ride height is very high and compared with the plastic cladding at the bottom, it gives the car an offroad-y feel. The trim pieces at the sides also don’t seem to line up at all, which looks messy and it also does not extend past the door, which is weird. The car also lacks any moulding or surfacing. The rear end features the taillights, which actually don’t look that bad. The spoiler does look a bit too square, and the moulding at the trunk looks questionable too. Even though the car has some good features, the developers aren’t really impressed with this entry at the moment.
Now the developers take a look at the modified car and oh my god, this one completely missed the vibe as well. All of the different elements look out of place, with the hood scoops taking it a step too far. The front bumper is from a different era of car design, and it doesn’t fit the style either. The livery is questionable, and the stickers don’t match the colour of the car very well. The wheels are probably the worst part: they look like an oversized version of some economy car hubcaps. Overall, the car feels like a spam of premade fixtures, rather than a well thought out design. The tuned car completely missed the mark, so the developers quickly decide to move on to the next entry.

Up next is the Sanada Yurei. First impressions are decent, but not really good. The front has a nice design, and the headlights and grilles line up well, not bad. However, just like the previous entry, the car lacks any form of detailing beyond having the basic elements like lights and mirrors, which becomes more noticeable once the developers take a look at the sides. Apart from the trim piece at the bottom, there is nothing breaking it up, making the car look uninteresting. The lights at the rear look okay, but the way that it is split up looks really strange with the car now having 4 reverse lights. And just like the front, it is almost completely made out of premade fixtures, which makes it look less well made.
The developers move on to the modified car, which looks equally dull, even if it has all the bells and whistles of a tuner car. The black carbon fibre paint mostly contributes to this, as it hides the already scarce amount of detailing of the car, and the wheels are painted the same colour as well. At least the text on the tyres spices it up a bit. The front end got some small upgrades, And the fender flares are wider too, which all seems to look good. The rear end features a few stickers, but apart from that, nothing else livery wise has been added. The taillights look a little nicer, but the diffuser does have some issues: It doesn’t seem to fit the rest of the styling of the car, and the exhausts being placed above them is a bit weird. Overall, this isn’t one of the best cars that the developers have seen, so they decide to pass on this entry as well..
