Results are in. Fortunately, only 2 bins compared to the bloodbath CTB was so letâs get on with it.

Rarf Python VX-L (@Ringu)- Doesnât meet WES8
An all around solid build with a simple, yet well executed design that screams base model. This one rocks a full aluminum body and an 8.6L V10, hitting well above its weight for its $22,800 price tag. The car also scored the best prestige score, but fell dead last with driveability, sportiness, and fuel economy (7.5 MPG? yikes). Sadly, this car doesnât meet WES8, so it cannot compete. It wouldâve scored 6th if it did.
Personally, this was one of my favorite designs, looking modern yet basic at the same time, and the square look really suits the body. But, rules are rules.
Aeon Akidule GT (@Prime_Moss) - Uses a hatchback body
This car scored the highest safety rating out of all the cars here, but thatâs where its strengths end. This one features one of the longer wheelbases and is the only other V10 entry, but its below average performance in nearly every field (especially prestige and reliability) leave it in the dust. Sadly, this build is based on a hatchback body, and given there are wagon options available for this model, itâs hard to understand why a hatchback body was used. This car wouldâve placed 11th had it competed.
Not sure why the hatchback body was used here, but this car didnât have the raw numbers to place high.

13 - Kurozake GT Touring - @David_Herrera (7.23)
One of the smallest wagons here (small being relative, of course), the Kurosake is a more sporty ride than most of the other wagons and features the smallest engine, only packing a 3.8L V6. However, it sports a pair of turbos, making it one of the more powerful engines (600 HP for a base model family car) and one of the most economical (14.5 MPG, a hypermiler compared to the others). However, the good news ends there, as this car places dead last across prestige, comfort, and practicality, and scores low in nearly everything else (and a $2,400 SVC. yikes). This car unfortunately has the pleasure of being last.
There wasnât much going for it in the engineering department. It scored too low in many key areas to be competitive.
12 - Houston BFSW TA Line - @sealboi (7.25)
Despite the name (yes, I know the acronym), this is one of the smaller entries in our field of land yachts with its 116in wheelbase. The design, although basic, gets the job done and suits the car well. Under the hood is a phatt chungus 11L V8 MODUR
with almost 575 HP and 700 ft-lbs of torque on tap, more than enough power for the average family. However, even with its active suspension, itâs comfort scored barely above average, and it was left in the dust in nearly every other field, except for safety, where it scored the highest. Props to being one of the two manuals here.
The funny name and maximum freedom sized motor make this one a meme, but the engineering sadly wasnât there. At least it led the pack in safety, thanks in part to its freedom sized motor.
11 - M.A.C Nomad SS ShootingBrake - @sutarttt (11.18)
Not sure on the use of the shooting brake moniker here (Acksually, this is a station wagon), but the hood scoop and the aggressive front end shows this one means business. Its looks match its high sportiness stat and raw performance, with a 0-60 of a staggering 4.6 seconds, perfect for gapping the cockiest of street racers while the whole family humiliates them. On top of that, this wagon can hit .91 g, quite impressive for a freight barge. However, performance is the only strong suit of this wagon, as it scored below average in every other field, leaving this one in the dust of its more comfort oriented rivals.
Muscle meets wagon on the styling, but weâre judging for comfort, not performance, and thatâs where this one flops hard.
10 - Austin Auto Valerian - @Pistonhead (12.05)
This basic, yet effective design hides 650 HP V8 modur underneath thanks to a centrifugal supercharger. This wagon came out on the tamer end of its rivals, thanks in part to its active sport suspension and helical LSD to handle all the POWAH. Itâs also one of the lighter entries here, partly contributing to its good fuel economy (we live in a world where 12.9 MPG is good). However, its overall performance chops is nothing to write home about, and itâs left in the dust by its rivals here in nearly every field. Sadly, this one cannot place and higher.
You really nailed the Magnum interpretation, but there sadly wasnât much to compliment this one on. It was outclassed in nearly every field engineering wise.
9 - 565 T.I. - @George (13.5)
The front of this design gives off huge Pontiac vibes (ha, get it?), and Iâm here for it. Unfortunately, the rear reminds me of the rear of the GMC Envoy, a not so pretty rear end to stare at. Sad thing, really, given this carâs 600 HP on tap from its 6.5L V8 modur and a 5.5s 0-60 time. This car shines the most in its drivability, thanks in part to is full double wishbone suspension and relatively smaller wheelbase. However, no stat really shines here, as many wagons can outcompete this one. Plus, with the $27000 pricetag, there are cars that can do more for less.
Love the color and the front end, really gives off a muscle look, but the engineering keeps it midfield in most of its stats.
8 - Argon Noir Eco Sport - @HyperMud (13.63)
The term âecoâ here is used loosely, but it does sport one of the highest fuel economies of 14 MPG. The sport, however, doesnât really add up, with it scoring 4th from last on its sportiness. Where this wagon shines is its class leading safety and the lowest service costs out of all the contenders. However, this wagon doesnât have many other strengths, placing midpack in the 4 and 3 eagle priorities, and a surprisingly low drivability for it being one of the smallest wheelbases here. Plus, the front end design could use some work.
A more or less average entry with some standout features, but not where it counts the most. Love the hood scoop and 5V engine, though.
7 - San Ignacio - @Dog959 (14.32)
One of the more fuel efficient entries here, this large wagon is our least powerful with a meager 275 HP. It also is our most reliable, according to consumer reports. While its design may not be the best, it scored well above average in prestige, comfort, and practicality. Plus, its service costs were among the lowest in the field. However, consumers reported that this one was a bit difficult to drive, and that it handled like a yacht with its low sportiness (wow, who couldâve guessed that?). If youâre looking for a wagon with low maintenance costs long term, this may be the vehicle for you.
Even though the design was basic, the engineering placed this one high in the ranks.
6 - Shadow Hawkeye Turnpike Rallye - @superbiirdd (14.53)
This one really leans into the modern Hyundai look with the narrow headlights, phatt lower grille, and taillight bar. Being one of the biggest wagons here, this one suffers with its drivability greatly, but makes up for it with its practicality, also thanks in part to its more squared off D pillar. This car has one of the lowest service costs and highest safety ratings, the latter being in part to its 6L cast iron V8. Most of its other stats are average, though, with the only weakness being its drivability. All in all, a very solid choice for the next car.
Solid stats all around, but it doesnât score high enough where it counts to place higher.
5 - Flint Traveler S465 - @the-chowi (16.62)
This sleek wagon has modern looks with a hit of aggression and poise. This one features full double wishbone suspension and a 7.6L V8 MODUR (hell yeah
) making 464 HP, which is middle of the road when it comes to power. Thanks to its passive suspension and pushrod valvatrain, service costs stay low and reliability is high for this behemoth. However, its other stats are simply average, which has landed it in 5th, but prevents it from placing higher.
One of the most consistent scorers across the board, but no real standout categories leaves this one in 5th. Huge fan of the design, though.
4 - Armor Kestrel GT Safari - @GassTiresandOil (16.95)
Someone did fake woodgrain, and it actually looks good! It follows the lines of the car and gives this one a sleek, retro look while keeping the car looking (somewhat) modern. This wagon is one of the few supercharged entries in the field, granting it a 0-60 of just over 5 seconds while keeping its fuel economy above average. Despite its looks, it has one of the highest prestige ratings, thanks to its premium interior and supercharged motor. However, just like the flint, there are no real standout stats, either good or bad, proving that consistency can place you high.
The woodgrain and smoothness of the design gives big Roadmaster energy, and I love it. Few strengths, but no real weaknesses places this one in 4th.
3 - Durand Valor LM-w - @Nebulon (17.75)
Another sleek looking entry on the list, we have the Durand. This one manages to be the most tame and the sportiest of the lot, achieved with the only active suspension unit being the sway bars. The engine powering this wagon is a 6.3L V8 modur, churning out a respectable 440 HP, but a miserable 10 MPG. The longer wheelbase and roof rack helps edge its practicality ahead of its rivals. Its strong stats across the board have earned this wagon a podium, but there are no major standouts beside sportiness, drivability and (abysmal) fuel economy. Plus, its price of $26500 places it below other wagons that are less capable for the money.
A strong contender with an Achilles heel of fuel economy. One of the most consistent scorers here.
2 - Nordwagen Freya T 12x2 - @moroza (18.73)
This heckin chonker has the longest wheelbase of over 130 inches and a nice, thick rear overhang and a somewhat squared off D pillar for maximum cargo space. This wagon is the only one with a V12, which while it may only be 4.6L, this NA motor packs enough power to move the nearly 5000 lb yacht from 0-60 in 5.5s while being the most economical ride here (18 MPG? Absurd in a car this heavy). It sports the highest prestige, strong practicality (even though itâs missing a roof rack), and an elegant, yet sleek design that ties it all off. Its only weakness is its dead last drivability, which is to be expected for a vehicle of this size. A very solid pick if youâre looking for unmatched practicality and (weirdly) great fuel economy.
Another second place to add to your collection. It was so close to bringing home the win, but it scored too low in the 3 eagle priorities to make up for the price and drivability.
1 - HMC Athabasca - @br1ckfield3r (19.63)
The winner by a sizable margin is the HMC. While it may not have the most complex design, what it has works well, making it stand out from the flatter designs. This is the only car on the grid with an I6, albeit a 6.2L pushrod one with a mighty cast iron block. This car scores very high in prestige, comfort, practicality, reliability, and service costs, all while being the cheapest entry on the lot (a price of $25000 to boot), so youâre getting a lot of bang for your buck. The only real weakness is the below average sportiness score, which is to be expected for a car designed for comfort. This car is the optimal choice in this CAFE Free world.
This car scored most where it mattered, taking the overall win. Well done.
As per tradition, youâre first in line to host the next round
Thanks to all for participating! Itâs been a fun round, but now itâs time to focus on something else.
Iâll gladly take 4th place. A lot of great entries this round! Congrats to the winner!
P9 is fine, just had zero clue what to do with the rear tbh. (Front was kinda made after the new BMW M3 design)
IâM NOT LAST ![]()
![]()
Iâll take it for a shitpost on wheels, lmao. Probably couldâve done better with actually serious engineering, but who needs that when you have the eleven leeter vee eighd modurrr
For a build that at some point ceased to give a damn about sales numbers, thereby gaining a pedal and thus losing some 10 Driveability points alone, P2 is a nice surprise!
Thanks for the challenge! Iâve never hosted a challenge but Iâm willing to give it a try. Iâm also open to handing it off to someone else, and I can help with scoring the entries.
