Alternative History Competition 01 - Performance Second Coming (SUBMISSIONS CLOSED - REVIEWS PENDING)

Presenting the Centauri Sprite CPV, the Sprite is a small 2 seater sports car, normally equipped with a 4 or 6 cylinder front engine rear drive layout. the CPV engineers manages to shoehorn a electronically fuel injected 394ci V8 with an enormous supercharger under that functional cowl induction hood, and a AWD system to control it. Power for this beast is a massive 732 firebreathing ponies!, with 595lb-ft of torque. Flatout, if you have the nerve to keep your foot in it, this will crack 220mph, with acceleration figures that will have your insurance company crying. This. is. Speed.

The idea was it was to be a form of halo car for the company, which tend to be either some form of sports/supercar, or more of a grand tourer.

Using an 8 litre supercharged V12 putting out 520hp the Bouvais Blower is the ultimate in convertible luxury. Pulling all 1.5 tons from 0-60 in 4.8 seconds it’s the fastest palace ever built.

What does it take to run a kilometre in 20.66 seconds...
When you have to start from third gear?
It takes the Tersrecero 425 SCX.
It takes a supercharged 6.8 Litre V16.
With electronic fuel injection.
And a special AWD system.
Of course, there's a lot it doesn't take. It doesn't take all your money, and it doesn't take your comfort. The 425 SCX offers a hand-crafted luxury interior with two seats and a beautiful 8-track cassette player. You'll be kept safe and stylish with all-aluminium panels mated to a steel monocoque. Hydraulic power steering and a fine-tuned suspension make sure you can drive it all night. And if you decide to use all five of the gears it's got? Well, it's a whole lot faster. The only thing is needs now... Is you.

Name Origin

The name is inspired by a wrestler, funny enough.

YO SOOOOOOOOOOY TERSRECERO!

Deer And Hunt Buckshot

The first marine-to-asphalt missle

A true american hero

Designed after America’s mightiest sea-going war machines, the Buckshot draws its inspiration from the nation’s great battleships — the towering metal titans that rule the open ocean with absolute authority. Their legacy of strength, precision, and unstoppable force lives on in this limited-production sportcar.

Fitted with the newest and best technology from Deer-And-Hunt, the Buckshot is a marvel through and through.
A custom 6.5-liter transverse V8 has been engineered to power this wave-cutter, and on top of it sits a high-output supercharger capable of launching the Buckshot from 0–60 mph in just 5 seconds, with a top speed of over 180 mph.

Inside, the Buckshot becomes a full command station. Instead of traditional gauges, the driver faces ship-grade green CRT displays, feeding engine data and system diagnostics in real time to the driver.

A showcase of new materials.
A testbed for new technology.
A tribute to America’s steel-hulled giants.

COUNT 'EM.

We know it's the right amount.

Mankind has long had lofty aspirations of soaring into the sky and touching the stars.
Well, airliners exist and we left footprints on the moon already. What's left?

500 purebred American horsepower out of a supercharged Magic V8? Sure.
An aerospace-grade highly aerodynamic all-aluminum body? Why not.
Incredible handling dynamics and special radial tires? You bet.

All you need to do is book a table for 2 somewhere that’s fun to get to.

Daedalus from Audax comes in many forms. The Super is the best one. Try it yourself and see.

The Daedalus shown here (Super trim) includes optional extras.

Quick update: all entrants are legal, and currently making short notes on each entrant to try to write a basic review for all cars, but is going slightly slower that I had hoped.

I want to try to have it all done before Christmas, but work has been taking a fair bit of time and my days off are usually not on the weekend which is a bit discombobulating.

Another update: finally have short notes done for all entrants, and will start working on properly written reviews. I also have a rough idea on where entrants will be placing but will need to refine it more.

In the meantime, just some fun facts regarding engineering choices and trends among all 19 cars:

  • Body panel choice was nearly even, with 8 using steel panels, 6 aluminium and 5 fibreglass
  • Chassis design is nearly one sided with 13 using Monocoque, 2 Ladders, 2 Spaceframe, 1 HD Ladder and 1 Partial Monocoque
  • Chassis Material is nearly split even with 10 using normal Steel, 7 Galvanized Steel, and 2 using Corrosion Resistant Steel
  • Engine layout is nearly all front engined, apart from 5 being mid, and 1 being rear. All are longitudinally mounted
  • All but two cars use Double Wishbone front suspension, while 15 use Double Wishbone rear, 2 Solid Axle Coil, 1 Semi Trailing Arms, and 1 Solid Axle Leaf
  • The majority of engines were V8s (13), with 4 being V12s, and 1 each being I6 and V16. Engine materal is near even split (10 Aluminium, 9 Iron), and of the Aluminiums 2 are Light
  • Head choice is nearly split between Overhead Valve (9) and Dual Overhead Cam (7), while 3 chose Single Overhead Cam.
    • Of the Overhead Cams, half are 2 valve and half are 4 valve. And all but 3 are performance variant heads, with those 3 being standard variants
  • Most engines used Superchargers (15), with 2 using turbochargers and 2 being naturally aspirated.
    • Of the Superchargers, 9 are Roots style, 3 are Centrifugal, and 3 are Screw style
  • For fuel systems, 13 are EFI, 5 are Carbureted, and 1 is Mechanical Fuel Injected.
    • Of the EFI, 4 are Multi Point (3 Single and 1 Twin) and the rest are Single Point.
    • For Carbureted, 4 are 4 barrel (3 having 2 carbs, 1 being 1 carb) and 1 is 2 Barrel (with 3 carbs)
  • 5 of the cars are All Wheel Drive with the rest being Rear Wheel Drive. Gearbox wise, all but 2 chose Manual, with 1 being Automatic and 1 being Advanced Automatic
    • Both Autos use 4 speeds, while 12 of the Manuals use 5 speeds and 5 use 4 speeds
    • For the Differential, 12 used Clutched LSD, 4 use Helical LSD and 3 have Open Differentals
  • All but 5 of the cars have only 2 front seats, with 2 being 2+2, 2 having 5 full seats, and 1 being 2+3
    • Most cars use a Sports Interior (10), followed by Premium (5), then Luxury (2), and finally Basic and Handmade last (1 each)
    • Most cars had 8 Tracks (14, of which 5 are Premium, 5 are Standard, and 4 are Luxury), with 4 being Luxury Cassette, and 1 having Basic AM Radio

Will try to have the reviews out in a timely manner, and we’ll see if I can post them all at once or if I’ll end up doing it in batches.
