offroad… oh sugar.
Don’t feel bad. The Excel is not meant for off-roading. Looks like Luke’s going to spend a bit of time pounding the dents out of the undertray again.
well at least it’s good that my hatchback is an AWD car.
btw, i kinda do mention that im bringing the inlin4 competition to you, but i never really expected our score to tie.
Oh my… I did not judge this well…
AWD as well. And yeah, I noticed that. Two extremely well-matched cars. 11 horsepower difference between us, one hatch, one sedan, one with a standard interior, one with a premium interior.
I didn’t turbocharge mine mostly because I decided comfort and gas mileage were more important than raw power. Although I seriously considered it, because 5.4L of i4 couldn’t possibly be complete without the world’s biggest turbo hanging off the side of the block.
###Challenge 3
Your car has proven its self on the drag strip and on a shopping spree, but can it handle some offroad beating?
Score: Trail Mountain Circuit time (in seconds) + offroad penalty(50 - Offroad stat * 1,5)
Results:
How did I do so well at that? This thing’s got a low-ish ride height and… oh.
Did my Hydropneumatic suspension seriously just help me on that?
well dang. now we’re 10 points apart.
but how does a under budget truck dominated everyone here?
hoping for an ‘economy’ run now
The Storm Excel GT had some okay-ish offroad capabilities, though it drifted fairly well around the offroad track. But yes, the underbody is pretty beat up.
When you see the Hammercat Dune in person, you’ll understand. After the Challenge is over, i’ll post a detailed sheet with all the calculation and values.
Oh hey I’m in second place now
I’m really impressed by the Danver Hijack, though. Who knew that a classic American pickup with a 400hp V6 would do so well in an American road trip?
not the dune. but the hijack in the overall score
Sure thing. I’ll just put 427 kg of sound system, insulation, and seats in your car before the run. Then at least the weight of the cars will be even.
Wow, I thought my car would be very bad at offroad
Meanwhile I’m wishing I had not given a damn about economy, left in the forged pistons instead of that brittle low friction crap and let the engine rev to the moon the way it was intended to.
Also tuned it for more power because there’s a lot of racing in here and, frankly, the Hermit V8 has been letting the Pegasus down so far.
I’m surprise by phale’s results D:> The pearlite is so fast that can outweight its off-road penalty.
still won’t go down lower than 25mpg i’m sure tho.
$shotsfired
Except that with an offroad rating of 37, I actually got an offroad bonus, not a penalty Pearlite Volara: the luxury rally car
@koolkei @madrias The Volara gets 31mpg while weighing about 250kg more than kookei’s Phyton
Welp, it’s certainly a shaky first few rounds for me!
31mpg v12. only in automation
