The Bavarian Race Challenge (BRC) is now well underway with the first race, on the Automation Test Track, having been completed just a few days ago. The top cars are being represented by long-time racers and companies that have been around for a long time. Joining these elite players in the top 5 is none other than Ankomst Automotive, sitting in 4th place after the first race of the season! Racking up a respectable 5th place in both runnings of the Automation Test Track, Ankomst was able to squeeze into 4th overall by a mere 3 points.

The training and qualifying races for the Brands Hatch course have completed and the Ankomst entry was able to take first place in both runs, a great achievement for this brand new company! The Swedish government has expressed how proud it is of Ankomst’s accomplishments so far and has decided to infuse additional funds into the company in order to improve its production facilities.

After unexpected success with its Stockholm '48 in Sweden and other Scandinavian countries, Ankomst Automotive is ready to announce a new lineup for 1952. Starting in December the following cars will be available at all dealerships.

The following engines are available for the 1952 model year.

Today Ankomst Automotive unveils its new car which will be available for purchase beginning in December, the Alg '52.

The Alg '52, moose in English, was designed to be a strong, high-powered automobile, offering great towing capacity (when paired with the optional V8 platform) and a spacious interior capable of seating 6, all while maintaining Ankomst’s goals of reliability, safety, and beauty. In order to properly cool the more powerful engine platform, a more aggressive front end was painstakingly crafted which compromised Ankomst’s ideas of stark beauty with a more aggressive grill structure found appealing in western markets. The Alg '52 offers the following list of features.

  • Base Price: $8200.00
  • With optional V8: $8478.99
  • Service Costs Per Year: $1689.03

Today, Ankomst Automotive comes before the world to announce an internal scandal that has rocked the company to its very foundation. It was discovered a few days ago that the engineering team behind our latest V8 engine (CV8-48NA-52) embezzled project funds. This has cost the company tens-of-thousands of dollars and has destroyed the trust placed in the engine design team. All of those found responsible have been fired and a team has hastily been put together in order to get he company back on track. It was also found that the V8, although producing more power, weighed significantly more than our updated I6 and produced slower lap times across all of our production vehicles. Due to this scandal we have decided to discontinue the CV8-48NA-52 and are in the midst of a complete redesign of our V8 engine. We have set the following goals for our new V8:

  • Must use existing hardware developed for the '52 I6 engine
  • Must produce more power than the I6
  • Must produce faster lap times than the I6
  • Must cost less than $1000 in materials to produce

We hope to have the new engine ready for use in all 1952 model year cars when they become available. Again Ankomst would like to apologize and reiterate our stance on quality and integrity moving forward.

Ankomst’s redesigned '52 V8 engine is finally ready for production and utilizes almost 75% of the same components as our I6 engine. This V8 shares the same bore and stroke as our I6, the same dual overhead cam and valves, and many of the same internal components. This allows us to very quickly and cost effectively build our V8 engines which will allow us to have them ready for the 1952 model year. Below you will find the specifications of our new V8 engine.

Ankomst Automotive would like to officially unveil its newest automobile that will be available for the 1952 model year, the Snabbt '52. Snabbt in Swedish means quickly, or to do something in a fast manner and we believe this perfectly describes what we are trying to accomplish with this vehicle.

The Snabbt '52 exclusively utilizes our CV8-35NA-52 engine which provides for a quick and sporty ride. This sporty ride however, does not overly compromise on the interior quality and ride comfort consumers have come to expect from Ankomst.

(What do people think of the gifs for car debuts? Too annoying, too much information crammed on them? Other ideas?)

I think the gifs are fantastic, perhaps lower the change interval (take longer) and if able without ballooning the file systems size, have a smoother fadein/out.

You have some nice delivery methods that are inspiring me to improve mine as well.

Yeah, after looking them over I was thinking of changing the fading and how long they stay on each picture. I mainly made it short because I wanted people to realize it would change and not just scroll past and miss the other pictures. Might just put a warning about using gifs so people don’t miss anything.
