ATA/HHC - Clubsprint Prologue [Cancelled]

Automation Time Attack/Hill Climb Championship

Clubsprint Prologue

Welcome to what is a trial run for a larger challenge I intend to run later in the year.
The Automation Time Attack/Hill Climb Championship.
I ran something like this before, back in 2019 and it was not the best. This one is slightly closer to that first run, but it is actually a test bed for a larger championship I intend to run in about October or November. But anyway, this trial run is to stress test the lowest class that I have in my document, the Clubsprint Class.

Clubsprint is the lowest, more amateur class of competition. Simple road going cars, with simple aero and such. But anyway, we’ll get past the fluffy stuff and instead, we’ll let more formal me explain more.

Clubsprint Rules

Clubsprint

Clubsprint is considered the true amateur class at ATA/HCC. These cars are often lightly modified road-going cars owned by individuals. Engine swaps are heavily restricted, as is aerodynamics, and weight. The cars must also have a level of road certification, i.e. be street legal in wherever they came from.

General Specifications

  • All Trim and Engine Variant years must be 2020.
  • All Vehicles must be mass produced road going vehicles, constructed by a recognized manufacturer, and currently/previously available as a factory OEM road going passenger vehicle with a government mandated VIN# or equivalent. Tube chassis, open wheel, factory built race cars, kit cars or club racer cars that may be made street legal are not allowed.
  • All cars must have an enclosed cockpit.
  • All cars must run a race number on the passenger side of the front windscreen and the furthest rearward side windows.
  • Must be using RB Racekit Window Numbers – Bebas Neue editable text.
  • All cars must have the driver(s) name(s) displayed between the front and rear axles, above the top of the fender line.
  • All vehicles must have a silhouette that is largely faithful to the original with the general body shape and outline remaining largely true to the original body.
  • All vehicles must retain stock/OEM wheelbase.
  • Use of Quality Sliders is not allowed.

Clubsprint Specifications

  • Cars may not have more than 300hp from the Manufacture/OEM
  • Tech Pool limited to +5 across the board.
  • Carbon Fibre components are not allowed.
  • Race parts are not allowed.
  • Engines must be from the same Manufacturer/OEM as the car, and consist of the same number of Cylinders.
  • Cars must run on Super Unleaded fuel.
  • Minimum car weight must be no less than 5% of the factory car’s weight.
    • A car that weights 1,000kg from the factory could not weigh less than 950kg.
  • Two aerodynamic components are allowed on the car, with a maximum of one in front of the front axle and one behind the rear axle.
    • Multi-element wings are not allowed
    • Aerodynamic Components in front of the front axle may only be lip or splitter elements.
  • All cars must run on spec tyres
    • Medium Compound with a maximum width of 255mm.
  • Dual Clutch and Auto Manual gearboxes are not allowed, and must have no more than six forward gears.
  • Carbon Ceramic brakes are not allowed
  • Active Aero is banned.
  • All cars must have at least two seats.
  • Electric Steering is banned, as are ESC and LC.
  • ABS is required.
  • Air, Adaptive, and Active suspension components are banned.

Prologue Notes

ATA/HCC holds the right to deny access to classes for vehicles whom are considered outside the scope of the class, automobiles to be considered supercars or of supercar performance may be denied access to the competition.

Team and Homologation Rules

Team Rules

  • Every car must belong to a team, however there is not allowed to be more than one car per team.
  • Teams must name one driver for their car
  • All teams must designate a number to be attached to their car.
    • The number may be two or three digits in the following Format
    • ##c or ###c
    • Numbers will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis.

Homologation Rules

  • Before a Team may enter a car, their base model must be homologated.
  • Five Images are required to have a car considered for Homologation
    • Two images of the outside of the car, One 3/4 from the front, and one 3/4 from the rear
    • The Design Summary Tab
    • The Detail Stats Tab
    • The Test Track Tab
  • These must be sent in DM alongside driver number claims.
  • An Official Entry must be sent in the same DM once Homologation is Accepted.

Submission Rules

Submissions

  • The Following is the accepted format for Entries
  • Model and Engine Family: ATAHHC – Prologue – Username
  • Trim and Variant: [Entry Number] required alongside a dividing marker, otherwise free.
  • Car number should be confirmed before an entry is sent in.

Given this requirement, should catalytic converters also be mandated?

How will this be judged? Is this an autobeam competition?

It is an automation challenge, just a single lap around an undisclosed circuit.

This is more just for me to test the rules and homologation system work than being a large scale challenge. The full challenge towards the end of the year will be a 3 class, seven event championship.

So just to check, the trim and variant must be 2020 but the actual car can be earlier? And doesn’t have to look 2020?

Correct!

Deadlines

Homologation Period

June 25, 2023 through July 16, 2023.

In this period, you may attempt to homologate as many base model cars as you wish. If your car is denied, an explanation will be given as to why, but you will be able to have infinite retries to homologate a car.

Time Attack Entry Period

July 2, 2023 through July 23, 2023.

In this Period, you may enter your completed Time Attack builds. You will have a single entry using a single homologated model. It does not matter how many cars you attempt to Homologate, you will only get one accepted car.

Please pay attention to all requirements.

Notes

This rule is the power limit for the HOMOLOGATION model. When you come to modify the Time Attack model, you have zero power limit.

This rule is more formality to allow me wiggle room outside of fixed points to deny a model Homologation. This is in alignment with the Prologue Notes.

Please denote your wanted driver number when you Homologate your car. If you do not claim a number during the Homologation process, you will be denied entry to the full event.

Are we sending in two different cars? This homologation stuff is confusing

You only send Screenshots of the required tabs via DM. I won’t be looking at any .car files for Homologation.

Just making sure, we homologate an unmodified car with pictures, and after that we “modify” it to enter, or do we send pictures of the already modified car?

Option 1

may i ask why restrict tyres so heavily?
for the era (2020+), circa 300 hp and 255 section, even the road car would come with at least sport compound.
as it is, with the test mules i’m building, the road car performs better in both high and low speed cornering Gs, and that’s with a racecar that’s 95% the weight, has more aggresive aero and is much stiffer and lower.

Tyre restriction is for the Time Attack car, equivalent to a Spec tyre. This is better reflected in the total rules in all classes.

By the time the full event is scheduled, I think it will be likely we will have the race tyres. By that point, rules can be changed/adjusted to reflect the access to new compounds. For now, Cope.
