Automation Airfield Power Lap Times
We should team up eh? I too was eyeing the Throne
Sure thing I have 2 bodies that could use some revision and 1200 N/A hp v8

Good luck  Strop’s time will take some beating!

if only knew how many 10s of wings I’d have to put

Oh ho, here comes a new challenger?

I’ll save you some of the pointless trouble as the whole deal with the aero in the current version of the game is now common knowledge: As silly as putting 50+ wings (no joke) on the car was, in the interests of playing around with the simulation I found the approximate sweet spot (at least for the frame I’m using!) At the extreme pointy end, it becomes a matter of playing with the increments of the sliders and seeing what results, as the tuning literally becomes finer than can be achieved with one click of the slider (and at this point, as some would argue and I would agree, this is where playing a simulation has well and truly departed the reflection of what happens in real life, so it becomes an academic exercise… one that I’m willing to partake in nonetheless :stuck_out_tongue:).

Anyway, since I saw the intentions to take a tilt at my time, I thought I had better provide my actual latest race time so I have sent the screenshot in. Expect to see the board change soonish!

I see I was thinking in opening a ring time competitionand limit the amounts of downforce in each car as long having a 1500$, 100Mhr engine

The downforce will be limited, but only when there’s a fix for the bug. Until then, you can go wild. Just please remember when a fix does come out, this power board will be wiped clean to make way for some new, less downforce-reliant times.

I tried to make a car to destroy strop’s record, 1800bhp, a LOT of downforce, it only managed a 1:07 or something like that

Does it have a whacking great turbo in it? Because that increases the cooling requirements so much the subsequent increase in drag will work against you… This said aggressive turbo is at a disadvantage because the track is tight and needs a very responsive engine with nice even profile… I can use a 2000 HP engine to go slightly faster around the ring but it’ll lose heaps of time around the airfield.

Just took 2nd place on the production car board. Gonna take a crack a chasing strop down even further.

That’ll be the first time the order has changed in nearly 2 months. I say bring it!

Can anyone give help for getting a quick time? I made a race car earlier and was 1:17.

Long story short, downforce is key, and there is a way to generate a lot of it, with very low drag. Use many wings, but set their downforce setting very low. This should allow insane cornering speeds. For a more thorough answer, go talk to strop, he’s the guy for anything regarding speed and madness: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=4022

Well, assuming you have selected a good engine (9-10.8L NA), then what Pleb said is basically right (not that I told him what to say or anything). When I say “many wings”, I mean well over 10, and sometimes a lot more. In terms of suspension tuning, there is no “secret” except that sway bars are not really that important, and getting rid of them entirely is sometimes a good idea. Make sure to get the car as light as possible, and beyond that, it is all up to you.

Thanks!

Here are my results from Kubboz’s 10 minute challenge.

1.39.42

Oh, and this is a production car, not a race car… even though it looks like a spitfire, why didn’t I call it that?

Complying with the new 2 lips 2 wings limit wasn’t very easy, but I managed to do quite well with 2 lips and 1 wing. I present to you, the 2014 Garza CTX-R [production car] (revised for B1415)!

UPDATE

The leaderboard has now been WIPED following the public release of B1415. The 2 wings, 2 lips limit is now in effect. If the is a car that has been top of the board for a long time, I will ask for the LUA files for that car, so I can check that it complies with the lips and wings limit.

Other than that, the board still works as before. I haven’t bothered to update my other leaderboards, since this one is the most popular. But I will update the other leaderboards on request.

Get those new entries in!

Cheers!

In the airfield with my last creation (v8 - 600hp - production car - sport compound - fuel: 95); 1:19:20.

Time added! But next time PM it to me too. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yup Pleb, sorry, I forgot it  and thanks!.
