!WIP!
Lore/Story:
You are a 22 year old German student freshly moved to a collage in LA. Just as you started to get sad due to homesickness, you spotted this German car in your local dealership!
The car is quite a popular choice for new drivers in Germany due to its light weight, nimble characteristics and great fuel economy! Also let’s not forget the fact that it is insanely fun to drive!
It has a 2.0 liter NA F4 mid engine setup, with a 5 speed manual gearbox (obviously) that sends power to the Rear Wheels.
As a result of the recent oil crisis these cars started to become more and more popular in the US as well.
Let me introduce to you, the Donau Motzmäuschen
This is my 2nd car made for a community challenge, so if you have any recommendations (about the design for now since its still WIP) feel free to share it with me!
Will you test these machines in Beamng?
This is the Falco EcoRunner S, it’s an American’s attempt of an European Automobile It makes 158HP out of a 2.5L 60* V8 and gets 22MPG, It costs 6610 USD to build one of these magnificent machines “The EcoRunner S is the perfect 50 50 of daily comfort luxury and performance” Head of design at Falco
btw this is my first time doing something like this :]
I’m not currently planning on testing them in Beam.
Full disclosure : I May use it for pictures though.
The Njord ND-5204
Sold in 1975 for the '76 model year, the ND-5204 by Njord Automobile.
In 1970, Njord Automobile introduced a new vehicle to replace the FB-414 for the '71 model year - the ND Series.
The ND Series was a massive leap in technology for the Hetvesian brand: featuring a steel unibody construction, state-of-the-art safety features, and a premium interior with thick sound deadening throughout the cabin. It was also the introduction of the 5204 - a trim that introduced a manually selectable 4WD system into a passenger car.
The car received many changes after its introduction, and for 1975 the ND Series would get a multitude of changes such as 5 mph safety bumpers, an economy-tuned 4-barrel carb, and a catalytic converter to keep up with tightening fuel, emissions, and safety standards.
The new Njord ND-5204 was a modest fellow, featuring just a 94 hp 2.0 L 12V Inline 4 pushing the 2,700 lb Hetvesian brick from 0-62 mph in 13 seconds, but the real party trick came from it’s 4WD system with selectable 2-High, 4-High, and 4-Low modes to get you through icy mountain passes, sandy beaches, or your kid’s school parking lot. It also featured a 1.5" lift from the standard ND Series and a roof rack that could carry anything from surfboards to canoes.
If you’d like to learn more there’s a boatload of lore about it here.
And now my entry is gonna get blown out of the water ![]()

(car is very awesome tho)
In 1971, the competition blamed emissions for why their giant engines made no horsepower.
In 1973, the competition blamed fuel economy for why they had to axe their halo models.
And in 1975, the competition blamed imports for why they started losing market share.
And to that, we say:
SKILL ISSUE
For instead of simply throwing in the towel, Platinum Motors embraces innovation both at home and abroad, and pushed them to their limits, and the Platinum Panamerica GTO is the end result of all of that
438 of the finest American Horses from a twin-turbo, mid mounted V8, mated to a five speed manual transmission. 0-60 in 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 201 miles per hour.
All this with 20 miles per gallon combined and exceeding the WES4 standard with flying colors, and all that for an MSRP of $13,177* US. This is also alongside safety measures like low-impact bumpers, which were not merely an afterthought.
Take a test drive at your nearest Platinum dealer, and experience why emissions and fuel economy are but mere excuses for not chasing the heights of performance.
“A V6? In a wedge like that?”
“Yes. And 90 horsepower.”
“So it’s not going to set the track on fire?”
“No. But you won’t need to mortgage your home to fill the tank either.”
THE 1975 BAAS REVETT FL
Look, we now what you’re thinking. “That looks like melted cheese!” Yes, we cant exactly make you at fault for that. And you may judge its power, but. with only 1.2 tons in weight, would really be that slow?
It’s not mind blowing. You can slightly see a glimpse of your friend’s cars in the distance while you try to keep up, but you can atleast outlast them in mileage. And we specifically created it to be atmost driveable so you can go to the track and still make an under 3 minute lap time.
BAAS, WHY WOULD YOU DRIVE ANYTHING ELSE?
cheese… yum…
i still dont know how it is that heavy
1975 MOTORWAGEN KRAFTWERK KAMPA
I… might have taken “as long as its got four or more wheels and follows the rules”… a bit too far. Will it get insta-binned? Probably. Worth it? Absolutely.
This fat bastard of a motorhome has enough space for 9 people (y’know, somehow…) and its 1.9L Turbocharged 4-Cylinder is capable of pumping out an absolutely abysmal magnificent 85hp and 112lb-ft to take the Kraftwerk Kampa from 0-60 in 23.3 seconds while still averaging 25.5 (UK) MPG. In other words, it’ll get you from one gas station to the next by somewhere next week, and you can even sleep in it on the way!
Making a car with a “cool factor” doesn’t mean you have to make a sports car. The Kraftwerk Kampa is the talk of the town in every campsite it stays at, and for good reason: it’s not dead ugly and built like a brick… okay, it’s not dead ugly at least.
No power, no aerodynamics, and no handling, but it’s one hell of a talking point and it’ll run until the end of the universe itself. If that’s not cool I don’t know what is.
Are we allowed multiple entries?
I’m assuming the host will only allow one entry per user.
Just one per person.
As a new host I fell like this is the best course of action.
Thanks
1975 HPG HL1 1.6 S
What’s worse than being ugly and slow? Being numb and dumb, because that’s what the government wants our cars to be, look, and feel. And we don’t know if they’ll have to stay that way forever, because they do, what hope do we have for the future?
The answer is, surprisingly, a lot. Because with our HL1 1.6 S, you can avoid any and all of that by rediscovering how fun driving can be if you know where to look and go. And it will make you look and feel better doing so, thanks to an aerodynamic mid-engined wedge profile that slices through the air faster than a knife goes through butter, while reducing lift and improving stability due to integrated front and rear spoilers on its fiberglass bodywork.
Think 100 horsepower from 1.6-liters of flat-four hooked up to four on the floor isn’t enough to have fun? Think again, because at just 3/4ths of a metric ton, it can scoot to 60 from rest in 7.4 seconds and top out at a surprising 121 mph, all while slicing and dicing even the twistiest tarmac imaginable thanks to race-proven suspension and brakes designed for sustained track driving.
You can even have all of this for $24,000 AMU (inflation-adjusted) - and that price includes 13-inch alloy wheels, high-performance tires, a light and sporty 2-seat interior complete with air conditioning, and an AM/FM radio with an 8-track tape player. So what are you waiting for? Book a test drive at your nearest dealership and find out what driving should be - not a chore to be endured daily, but as a thrill ride for which every moment deserves to be savored!
man my wedge’s gonna be a snail compared to that ![]()
