I have some questions about Araga:

-How’s the road condition there? I’m guessing that since it’s a developed country it should be quite good, but there’s also mountainous regions so the road condition there could be worse, with some dirt roads still around.

-What type of industry does the country have (i.e. farming, mining, etc)?

1953 Waimo Saroma


The Waimo Saroma was built with one goal in mind. Be as cheap as possible whilst still being functional. It was powered by a 800cc 4 cylinder engine creating 30 bhp sending its power to the front wheels. It weighs just over half a metric tonne and has a fuel economy of 7.6 L per 100km (37.4 mpg UK, 31.1 mpg USA).

The reason for this car was after the effects of war had hit Japan’s economy, Japan needed something to export, and their people needed to travel. So the Japanese government hired Dr. Issei Yamamoto, the head of Yama Steel corp., to build a car to suit their needs.

Waimo was a new word coined by Yamamoto-San. It was made to express the freedom the owners of his cars would feel while driving it. A freedom that grants you the power to go anywhere whenever you need. The name Saroma, refers to a famous lagoon in Japan.

The car was assembled in Karatsu, Saga, which was convinient since there was a nearby port, which meant cars could be immediatly exported after they had been fully built and checked.

Answering some questions I have been asked:

From @Prium :

  • The road condition is good on the main roads, but rural areas still lack developed roads currently.
  • The main industries are tourism, forestry and agriculture.

From @Maverick74 (in DMs):

  • My current inclination is that I will not allow RUF-style external modification companies. Internal performance divisions are fair game. Why? Because it feels like it’s straying too far from the premise of “You are running a car company”.

Adding on a third point from a discussion with @cake_ape :

  • Entering cars from multiple brands under one company, such as Toyota/Lexus, Infiniti/Nissan or GM is fair game.

Question about fuels. The OP says regular and premium leaded are available, so does tuning for low quality unleaded give any advantage whatsoever? Or are leaded fuels already in widespread usage so they’re not a problem at all?

1952 Garland L2A


Garland Motors was founded in 1919 by a group of young Texan entrepreneurs, they pushed the company to become a prominent automobile manufacturer within the deep south, since most brands were centered around the Rust Belt (yes, detroit). Soon enough Garland saw itself become the pride and jewel of Texans. On 1927 Garland Motors and Varion Automobiles soon acquainted themselves, becoming a mutual benefit partnership that would let Garland produce and sell their vehicles on Varion factories and vice versa… However, soon enough Garland got bought out by Varion and transferred to Dallas, where a bigger factory would be constructed.

The L-Series truck was introduced in 1948 by Garland Motors, it saw huge market success in lower-class agrarian economy.

The L chassis was offered with two variants, the A Class and the B Class, the A Class offered a 3.7L I6 and was meant for lighter cargo, the B Class was offered with a 5.1L V8 that was capable of towing and carry nearly double that of the A Class could, however it was offered slightly at a higher price range, so the A Class would be the most sold.

The L chassis also saw success in the export market, as many saw the truck as the perfect fit-for-the-field truck.

However, in 1950; Garland would introduce the now famous L2A-B not as a replacement for the L1A-B, but quite the opposite, they wanted another truck in their lineup that could serve as a sort of upscale of the L1 series, as it was quite light and small, hence why the L2 is the bigger number.

1954 Fitz C90


Agromecánica Fitz was founded in 1950 by the oligarch and landowner Gregorio Fitz. The brand, established in Argentina, was specialised in manufacturing tractors and other vehicles for the agricultural industry. The lack of light utility vehicles in the domestic market inspired Fitz to start production of the C90

The C90 was powered by a 2.9L I6, making 90hp and 200Nm. Thanks to it’s high torque values, and that it was available with 4x4 drive with manual locker, made it an ideal choice for utility works in less-than-ideal environments, proving to be reliable, fuel efficient and powerful enough for the agroindustry.
Soon after production had started, Fitz pushed very hard on exporting the truck to foreign countries, like Araga.

I understand the reasoning behind this just fine, but say you’re maxed on wheel offset/width/diameter, and it simply does not jive with your design. With this rule in place, you wouldn’t be able to do anything about that. A specific example I would use for this is the tezda rear arches - it is impossible to get good fitment without advanced trim settings in my experience. They simply do not cooperate.

Also, if making a trike using advanced fixture settings is ok enough, what would a 6x6 do to stats?

I’m still a bit not understand about the meaning of the task and it’s complicated for me.
Take this condition for example: the car can be produced as part of a sub-brand, but the same situation could happen as with the Edsel. In itself, it’s a great car. But its discouraging appearance and the distancing of the name from Ford made it too exceptional and Ford suffered huge losses. The Citation, like the rest of the bodywork varieties, was only produced for two years.

So, a couple of housekeeping matters:

First of all, rip, premium leaded isn’t a thing and it’s actually super. Some of you tried to handle it by tuning for 95 RON; this is not correct, the intent was to for you to use 92 or 98. Because of this, I will allow one resubmission from everyone. 85 RON simply does not exist in Araga; there is no benefit in tuning for it.

Second of all, there’s been some discussion on advanced trim settings. I’ll update the OP later, but if you cannot get an effect through the normal setting (such as if you have already maxed offset), you can add more via advanced settings. 6x6es will have a cost bump in exchange for better offroad, I guess? It won’t be practical or sensible, trust me.

As for Kalan’s post… What are you asking? Yes, cars absolutely can flop. It won’t permanently damage the brand for balance reasons, but you can have a car flop due to styling.
