Automation Touring Car Championship 2 [FINAL RESULTS]

Getting close to the top 10 overall now. I’m a happy chap!

Well, this parallels the Ludwig ring results. I’m actually a bit disappointed in myself because I clearly haven’t figured out the really bumpy stuff properly! But that’s just another learning point to be dealt with. Totally taking a look at trackpaduser’s car (thanks for upping!) To see what works better.

It will be a tight race for the final spot on the podium. I suspect given what it is, that spot would go to opposite lock by a small margin, but its just as possible that we end up tied for points! (In which case I believe they had the better finishing position)

As usual Znopresk works a lot better on bumpy and slow track. \o/

PMC did better on this track then suspected and scored a couple points! Huzaaah!

Hey guys!

With great pain, I must announce that this is the last season of the ATCC I plan to do. It was both and a hard decision to make. The hard part was the feeling that I will leave the forums with no other option for a comprehensive challenge, since there isn’t another one open right now with clear rules and well thought out layouts. My praise to Aaron for doing his JPP, it is a brilliant challenge, the sort I wish there were more of.
However, considering how much time and effort I had to put on to make this work and how little I feel I get back, the ATCC has to stop.

I hope you guys understand my decision and I look forward to the challenges you can come up with.

Cheers, Leo.

PS: Final results should come tomorrow.

Edit: There is no need to mention Bayer’s CTC as example of a brilliant current competition as well. Because I assume everyone knows how genius that is.

Don’t sweat it dude, I for one am thankful for such an entertaining and informative challenge. I know the feel that after a certain critical period, the returns just feel like they’re diminishing, especially when the expectations just seem to grow.

Great job running it the way you have!

Your challenge is brilliant as well man!!

I think you have more than did your bit on the competition side of things, the ATCC has been one of the most enjoyable competitions as of yet, but it seems that as time goes on, the possible ideas for new challenges become smaller and smaller, and we will reach a point where there is just no unique options anymore. So I think this is a ‘last hurrah’ for the great, pre-steam/tycoon challenges.

I know how hard and time-consuming running a competition can be (thanks for the props btw!), so I know how you feel. I respect the decision and well done on running such a great contest. Only a few have been run this well!

Just don’t worry about it, expectations were only going to grow anyway, especially with the imminent Steam release!

Although I only partook in the first season, it was very enjoyable to to finally have a forum challenge that is simple, fun, and competitive. I totally understand why you want to stop, but thanks anyway!

Thanks for the challenges, I understand completely.

Thank you for the fantastic competitions, they were truly enjoyable, both seasons, i understand your decision to stop this.

                                                                                                                                                       -Enry

Hello guys!

With great sadness, I present you the last results from this ATCC season.

However, I have a surprise for you. Although I couldn’t have the time to do the trump cards, me and Conan still did the comments for them. And I haven’t forgotten about them, so I present them to you know, together with the final standings.

That is it for the ATCC. I might get back to this format eventually, but for now, I shall take some time without running these things.

That is what I would have said, had I not, when talking to Jakgoe and Strop, decided to do the most complex racing challenge on automation yet.
Watch out for what we come up with in the coming days!

Until then, see you and thanks for sending your cars in! I hope you had fun.

Ahhhh, pipped to the podium by my old nemesis, oppositelock! This is not the first time we have banged wheels, and it certainly won’t be the last, I hope

A well balanced car that truly came out on top trackpaduser, congratulations. As predicted, the marsupilami also did justice to its name. That was some real tight contest and exciting times. Thank you once again for hosting the ATCC, leo, and yes, we’ll have something very special coming up for everyone in the near future indeed. Until then!

Thanks for hosting these Leo - I did have fun, cheers for adding the comments it was a nice note to end on

Thanks Leo for hosting such a great contest! I actually expected there to be little to no variation in the positions in each race, but this was not the case, which I’m glad about!

And I’m actually pretty happy with my finish too!

Just as I thought, a pretty decent cheddar :stuck_out_tongue:

Err a KITE faster than my car

I know that you are fond of planes, so my first thought was to compare it to a Cessna 182, but that is quite a good plane, so it wouldn’t make for a funny funny enough analogy.

As long as the winds are decent, kite powered stuff can be pretty fast.

Cheers Leo, this was the first and I think only forum comp. I’ve taken part in up to now.

Oh, and Peniston managed to re-write history and that chassis that was crap in the 90s did a bit better, haha.
