LEO9613 don’t have points in the race? Look well the Race 4 points.
Since Leo is hosting the tournament, his car is a “benchmark” car. He has elected not to score points for his own car.
Ok. Perfect. Thanks.
Thanks Strop for pointing the error on the charts and for explaining things above.
The next results should come within an hour!

PMC in top 3, c’mon lucky 7’s!
Here we have the results for the fifth race, which took place on the Red Bull Ring in Austria.
This turned out to be another fast track, in which straight line speed and high speed cornering was more important than balance.
So, we have the top speed graph to go along with the results.
Results:
Stay tuned for the next race, due on the 25th, the results are looking very interesting. It will be a christmas gift to some and a complete disaster to others!
On the mean time, Merry Christmas to all of you!
Why is Conan’s top speed in red?
Because I’m stupid and forgot to revise it. Should be fixed now.
Bet you that’s to do with Excel saving the formatting of the previous graph drawn and applying it to this graph. That red line is in the same position as the average bar of the pricing graph previously posted. EDIT: And it’s gone now
No surprises this race, which, frankly, would be a relief to my team. After all, it’s all going to be turned on its head in Brands Hatch, so you could say we actually needed this win to keep any tournament hopes alive!
How much a difference would 14hp make in this race, realistically? (talking about same car)

Yes to both your points. It was my fault for forgetting to change things on excel and Brands Hatch will be very interesting indeed!
You could compare the results and the power to weight graph and try to figure it out. It could make a noticeable difference or just ruin the balance of your car.
Depends on how the rest of your car is balanced. I would say with extra 14hp, you could afford more downforce, which means better high speed cornering, and the resulting drag would also improve your high speed braking. But if you’re maxxed out on downforce, then all you might achieve is more difficult throttle control, which really holds you back on technical sections.
Downforce doesn’t seem to have been a huge priority for quite a few entries here. Jakgoe and I have the most powerful cars, but as you can see, the top speeds are somewhere in the middle. Trollercoaster’s car is a corner monster and has won races, and it has an even lower top speed!
Eh, I sorta knew the Thundercat wouldn’t do so well on these two tracks, but I’m okay with where the standings, well, stand.
For the record, I am fairly sure that your car will beat mine in Brands Hatch and Laguna Seca. I have also bet that Brands Hatch will be my worst track, so it may be by well more than a single position!
Hence I am still quite certain this race will go right to the wire. There are just so many ways it can be sliced.

I realized recently, (post races already starting) that I was running a .25" too skinny of an exhaust, and was robbing myself of 14hp and a few ft.lbs of the good stuff at a negligible weight gain for the bigger pipes
A quick check of my own car, losing 11hp by dropping down .25 inch exhaust diameter, shows that I lose maybe 0.1s on the high speed tracks, and my time remains almost completely unchanged on the slower tracks. Interestingly, it wouldn’t be enough, in my current position, to have changed the outcomes of any of the races (which calls into question just how useful my super OCD special was!).
So for me, sacrificing power would only help if the powerband were improved, or the weight distribution of the car otherwise improved. But I don’t know about your own setup.

Usually a tick up in exhaust moves your powerband higher and costs some mid range torque did that happen on yours?

I did notice after you mentioned it a 5-10ft.lbs lost from the 2-5k rev range. I don’t feel that bad now with the smaller pipes

I would like to point out that I felt underwhelmed by the original VIR track, hence, I added some bumpiness to it, to better replicate the real race track.
That tweak could spice things up as well and, coupled with the tight configuration, it might prove a challenge for your car
Erm, I’m not really sure how I feel about running on a bumpy track, I ran my car on flat ground only… But, still, the car soldiers on, unhampered by the thought of losing, and guided by our tame racing driver.
