[OOC] Well, you know I am a German American, 3rd generation, so, yeah… I thought the song was quite adequate for my mood, actually (not that I want to continue the activity of the 3rd Reich, but I do want to torture pony tail and moustache!), but I’m happy you picked up on the subtle cue. haha It’s a rather old song from a rather obscure band, and it’s lyrics are rather difficult to understand given the musical genre. Hopefully nobody found it in horribly poor taste.
Feedback provided. A lil’ sneak peak that portrays what I will go with if/when the next one happens. (will become obsolete, since the next one will probably happen after the next update, but nice for showcasing the concept)
@Kristina: I thought it was quite clever, in a very risqué way! I didn’t notice at first, but when I went back to gauge the happenings on in the bar, I knew I couldn’t just let that slide!!
Thanks to all who replied. There is quite a decent turnout so far, which in itself I find heartening. So far, in summary:
[ul]]The overall response to the story overall is overwhelmingly positive. Most of you are raring to go again in some way or another./:m]
]There’s a much more even split as far as willingness to write your own part, so I will very likely account for this when opening up the next installment by tailoring your involvement to your interest./:m]
]There’s actually also an even split between those who thought this was either barely, or NOT mad enough (which is disturbing, what do you want, DragonBall Z!?), and those who thought maybe I should tone it down a bit. This is probably my biggest conundrum./:m]
]The vast majority of you are perfectly content with the format and scoring of the tournament. Nonetheless I can think of some ways to improve it, but I won’t make any fundamental changes. It’ll still be all MAKE OVERPOWERED CAR GO FAST, just like this one./:m][/ul]
At the end of this week I’ll close the poll and post the graphs for fun but otherwise, once I get a few of my other commitments sorted, then I’ll start going back to revisit some of the old concept and start some serious groundwork laying!
I would not expect a BSLL 2 until at least August, so… there’s plenty of time and most likely, by this point, a new build and the Steam release anyway, so I say let it stew
Next time wider wheels, and more down force.
^ This!
@Vos: dude that is some of the sweetest use I’ve seen for Pleb’s Focus grille, the Not-Gallardo vent, and Necronn’s really pointy grille. Everybody will probably expect that thing to be glued to the road and do like 450km/h.
NOTE: By the time I get BSLL2 out, things like ACTIVE COOLING FLAPS, ACTIVE WING, ACTIVE SUSPENSION and LIMITED SLIP DIFFS are going to be out, which means way more whizzbangery to play with! I’m going to obviously have to factor those in. In fact, I’ll be rejigging the scoring so that it’s similar in spirit but a bit different, so while your choices are fundamentally important, the tuning may prove to be the vital difference!
If everyone else is filling their car with gadgets I might feel obligated to enter a 1960’s pushrod v8 hotrod out of spite.
You’d get a lot of madness points if you did!
I will be re-entering the E30 LS7 M!!
I will probably figure out how to get wider wheels on it though (and probably more downforce). That was my only real downfall…wheelspin madness and slow-G cornering.

Will make sure to add a rule: if altering the bones on the car .luas, please let me know so the game doesn’t break!
But I’ll try allowing that, because really, I’m a fan of fat tyres.
But how far? One of my prototypes is out of the window if widened tyres are allowed.
Eh, good question. Current max limits for the largest possibly body shell is 485, that’s in Kubby’s not-Eldorado shell.
That being said, there are limitations on the width of bodywork and also that tyres can’t protrude from bodywork… as that would make them not street legal. So I’ll have to think about that one, and set a certain limit. So it’s TBA for now. Also, if you send me a car and it breaks my game, well, then I can’t use it, so that’d be disincentive to go too nuts
How do you edit the bones of a .LUA file ?
There is a file called bones.lua in the folder for each cars.
It defines the limits for each bone (morph zone) of the car.
On pretty much every car there are two bones, usually called something like FrontFlare and RearFlare, that define the limits of the fender flares and therefore let you change the width of tires that you can fit.
If you make the MinX value smaller, it will let you fit wider tires.
Remember though that this will probably cause issues if you send the car to someone who has an unmodified version of the file.
I vote this just be a regular, ongoing thing, globetrotting the world causing mayhem and burning rubber!
Yup, don’t sweat the rules and details too much, just don’t stop hosting the only competition that has the “Krazy” dial set at 11!!!
Maybe a race each week and mayhem galore between races!
