Bethlehem steel fire

Basically, a fire was reported at 7:30AM. The building is a warehouse so no death or injuries luckily, but there were chemicals and Hazmat stored on site. Due to this, the smoke is extremely toxic and is causing entire towns to go into shelter in place, with one school district having to be evacuated. And my school is under shelter in place because of it.

I’ll try to get more info as soon as I can, though we are taking in students from the evacuated district

I saw this earlier today, one of the kid in my class brought up a facebook livestream of somebody on the scene, looked like the whole area had been evacuated. My teacher could even recognize some of the roads there from his fishing trips to the area.

Yeah, I was watching that same livestream. It wasn’t a total evacuation but it was mandatory shelter in place

Ouch. I hope everything works out well.

jeez that’s no good. I hope it all blows over quickly and without any ill effect!

No pun intended

yeah, the fire is now contained and they were able to get an official cause. it would seem somebody managed to screw up changing a light bulb and caused that.

Damn, hope noone got hurt. Looks like this week hasn’t been the best.
Theres this fire, to some; a Trump victory, and near where I live, there was a tram accident that left 7 people dead. Not a good week at all. :pensive:

Yeah, there were no fatalities luckily, and yep, pretty bad week factored in last nights protests

You live near Croydon?

Yep, In fact, I some times take that tram going home! Thankfully it was at 6 in the morning. If it had been any later, there would have been many more fatalities.

7 dead?? Goodness. Thoughts and prayers man. even though I’m atheist but no matter

Uh… Have I missed something?

Sorry, I was referring to the tram accident dorifto mentioned.

Yeah, http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-37947408. The tram was going at high speed round a corner. Apparently the driver was either asleep or not paying attention.

Good to know you’re safe! My thoughts are with those injured and the families of the innocent killed in this act of negligence. So sad that this could have never happened at all, and never should have.
