so whenā€™s the second practice?

since i was in the middle of the exam week, i held back on making a car for brc, since it would just SUUUUUUUCK too much time from my studying sessions.
so now at a disadvantage, i just started building my carā€¦

also @der_bayer i know you may not know but you have done to the brctool. but i feel like i just need to thank thee for this blessing. the blurry brctool is finally gone, and it works properly for once!
wellā€¦ so far

You can limit the fuel amount for the race by telling the car to pit after lets say 25% of the race. If the car was able to go 50% on a full tank, it will start with a half-full tank.

The time difference between Sports and Slicks is the same as in the game, yes.

@koolkei: @pyrlix has got nothing to do with it. :stuck_out_tongue: Iā€™m using the same engine, same version, itā€™s actually the same tool with some extension. Something on your end must have changed.

Second practice is on Thursday.

right. derp. :stuck_out_tongue:

yup thatā€™s what i thought too. but then again i havenā€™t even updated my drivers for almost 6 months now.
and the only thing ā€˜changedā€™ is, i downloaded and ccleaner and cleaned my computer.

thatā€™s programming for you.
something doesnā€™t work, you donā€™t know why
something work, you also donā€™t know why.
and the biggest terror is when you make something that works completely on the first compile/run

Thereā€™s still a long time to enter. And it doesnā€™t take long to get perms (itā€™s actually at basic, not member) to PM people.

does that mean at pitstops the fuel tank is only topped up to the max when it is required to get to the next planned stop or to the finish line?

Yes. It takes as much fuel as needed plus a small safety margin.

I am literally crying right now. How do you make your motors so economical yet so powerful! And how do you make v engines that have below 25 production units!
A question, the engine has to be under 25 production units but the car total can be as high as you want, as long as itā€™s under 10000?

Dude.
You donā€™t have to limit your production units to 25. Each production unit is worth 25$.
Youā€™re free to use as many as you want as long as you are in the budget.

Was it simon who stapled my heart to the flooooor!

make your fuel mixture lean as possible, be moderate on valve setting, and get highest ignition timing and engine compression ratio as possible. also try to get right engine size for right power/torque curve because you cant use biggest engine due regulation

for now try practice to get highest fuel millage as possible, then try make engine that efficient on power/fuel compsumption without worrying the regulation. after you feel sastified you can start tweak your engine for BRC

In the BRC tool there is a difficulty parameter.
How is it calculated and how does it affect driver errors?

The difficulty is TrackSportiness divided by TrackTameness. TrackSportiness consists of relevant factors of the Sportiness stat, TrackTameness consists of relevant factors of Drivability concerning driving on a race track. Both are calculated by the game itself, so itā€™s not something made up by myself.

Yes, this rating affects driver errors. And the driver will become tired faster in a difficult car, but this effect can be neglected in the short races we are doing.

In my car difficulty is inf. I assume its not good then?

Ouch.

Pretty much :fearful:

This is most likely coming from either excessive boost or heavy under/oversteering.

Its gotta be 720hp on rear wheels in a car under 1000kg. It is too much for my driver to handle.

720 hp. <1000 kg.

HOW.

V12 powah

Lucky you, Iā€™ve only got 368hp from my V12, mind you, Iā€™m trying to build a reliable NA V12 with the exact specifications of the F1 BRM V12, I can see why BRM gave up in the endā€¦
