BRC 1976 - Under Pressure [E8-Q]

I’m quickly starting to suspect my car might end up being a joker entry. VIKUS! I SUPPORT YOU!

wait what??? is that in game stats or test numbers??

i’m running 280km/h+ top with a 3.8L v12

FINALLY top 10… although, i’m one of the least consistent one in the top 10… goal 1 reached, now second goal is to actually stay in the top 10.

ha, actually finished with only 1L of fuel left. now that’s what i call optimal

My 5.7L V8 is burning the same amount of fuel as my 6.1L V8 build…
Managed to get a decent rate of tyre wear for around a max of 297km/h.

Test numbers. maximum speed on the ATT.

how are you guys working out on that V8s???

i just can’t make them work out. it always end up bigger than i wanted but have lower power than i wanted. despite the cost that makes you able to spend more point on the v8, i still find that a v12 with no points make more power overall. but the length is always a problem

Well, I am the only one with fuel left after 20 laps in the top 5… maybe I need to burn more so I can pit before my tires are completely shot… MORE POWAH!

I really wish I had time to mess with turbo more, the increased fuel consumption does not seem to hurt the cars because the pits are short enough that their extra speed offsets it in the long run. O well, V12 NA power!

Well, got home from University. I am happy with the tire wear and fuel consumption. If I had pit after the last lap my car did, the tires would take longer to put on than the fuel takes to put in. Wish the car was faster, but it’s where I thought I would be in the pack this time around.

Also, so many large engines. I have a (somewhat large for me) 3.1 liter Flatplane V8 producing 260kW, any larger and I would have gone to a V12.

oh yeah. actually.
how long is the pit lane on each track? that might actually affects our pit strats a little.
since you know… time stopping in pit =/= pit time

hmmm, looks like I would actually place 13th overall with pits included… “must go faster”.

That’s pretty much why I went for the Turbo route, just because I wasn’t going to get the tyres to last long enough to make the NA work I think.

Also, I killed my car. DER BAYER HALP.

Absurdist, please leave me a PM, so that I don’t forget to recover your car.

I will try to provide the length of the pit lanes later today or after the weekend. They are basically like they are IRL, so no big surprises.

Now that the PSTs are over I finally managed to make a slightly faster car, but I still don’t think it would help me much. :disappointed:

NA V8’s aren’t that difficult to tune. More than 110hp/L from a 4.3 V8, which is the biggest that fits into the body I’m using.

Would have liked to push to about 5L / 550ish hp, but you got to make compromises.

yeah, that’s what i’m talking about not enough.

2 tests ago, i was running 3.8L v12 getting 468HP

that’s more than 120HP/L and now i’m running slightly more with a bit of tweaking.

i found V8s are just too big and too heavy for the power.

Well, I’m not running DOHC like the majority are, and I’m also about 80kg overweight before the 85kg tank… I do, in fact, have an overhead cam engine for the first time in BRC history, and I’ve participated in all of them. You’ve not been around long enough to know me, so I will excuse your comments. :stuck_out_tongue: My top speed in simulation isn’t 230. My top speed on ATT in testing was 230ish with roughly 1475kg of car.

Anyone make a lancia stratos type car? I think it’s time to post some screenshots of our cars.

I have a 2.4l v6 making 250HP and some 190 foot pounds of torque. It originally made 200HP but Puffster tuned it to make an extra 50.

i don’t think that’s enough. i think you need even more power without making your engine heavier. 104HP/L for such a small engine is unacceptable.

I think I’ve gone for a slightly weird route compared to you guys. 5.7l SOHC 32 valve V8FP, but way less than 100hp/L - around 460 bhp. I’m within 100g of the minimum weight, however, and my tyre wear is low. Any more power and it just becomes too heavy on consumption and I lose that great tyre wear rate. I’m already going to be spending a minimum of 26 seconds and as much as 29 seconds just refuelling, and I’d prefer that minimum not to get any higher.

And @Pboy123, pictures of my car are on the way…just need to finish applying the livery and setting up the souless amounts of merchandise

:joy: I barely get 107l/hp out of my 4l V8.
