No, the driver error effects have not been commented out. I haven’t watched the video properly enough to give a comment on how the effects were, but I would be really surprised if things were behaving differently this time.
You say this, knowing that this is still a simulation and the only thing entrants have actually contributed in the way of factors is the car. Fair enough.
But as a simulation of real life racing, a whole bunch of other contingencies comes into play. If this were real life, do cars get extra concessions for breaking down? Hell no. They broke down. It sucks, but that’s too bad, even if they had better than average reliability.
Okay, yes, I checked again and can confirm it is all working as it is supposed to must have been my delayed looking: whenever someone in the top made an error in the second stint I was seeing them climb ranks xD that must have been the overtaking of slower cars once again. Cheers!

That’s exactly how I see it. It sucks when you break down. But if I placed the broken down carsat the beginning of the field, they would start further in the front than they should in most cases. For these cases we have the 2 drop results to compensate at least a bit of your loss. Hopefully you don’t break down more often!

Surprisingly I am not last…also shocking that I still am stuck in 2nd gear most of the time
I finished right where I started. 10th.
…I think I saw at least three separate laps where Pyrlix did 1:15.00 exactly.
Ouch… bad results here…
In the second group Conan did a 73.09(lap10), but on the right the fastest laptime said 73.31(lap9). Isn’t the things happening on the last lap displayed?
Just a small observation. Not anything else.
And also, zero tire wear? Too short test?
@RobtheFiend: It was short, but Brands Hatch was shorter and had tyre wear. I think this course is just so dominated by straights that the tyre wear is not a big issue.
Things don’t look good for my team on this track. I actually think the tire wear wasn’t working this time… should have had at least some I would think.
Thanks for pointing out the little bug regarding reporting the fastest lap in the last training lap!
Tyre wear was working. But it is so low (only straights and very slow corners) that it didn’t show within < 20 minutes of training. I didn’t change anything in the tyre wear calculations, this behaviour just results directly from the track definition. You will see in the race that there still is some tyrewear.
Great stuff Martin, very interesting choice for the final track, it truly is very different than the other tracks.
I thought my car would do better being so focused on acceleration and top speed at least passing should be reasonably simple for me in the second stint.

The only type of track more different than the Green Hell would be a 1 mile oval.
Suddenly, a wild Pyrlix appears.
Pyrlix uses Top Speed. It is super-effective!
It will be a very interesting race, especially because of the straights and the heavy braking zones that come afterwards. Will be tough on the brakes!
My brakes are good… but I don’t know how much they can help.
