edit: more than 89 cars (but less than 100), I forgot a few still hanging around in my inbox
I say over 35 will not finish.
I say my Me M will not be crashed out this time.
Maybe the engine blows first ā¦
Can someone Remind me of how our reliability is being calculated, and what effect the cooling has on it?
A bit late for the BRC 1976 QuER, but should still apply for the regular season:
Engine cooling you set yourself; the other two are calculated in-game.
Edit: I believe effective vehicle reliability is some kind of average between average reliability and safety, but I donāt remember the formula.
itās really curious to hear people are running 2:20s and below but have <30 reliability engine.
im still on low 2:21s but have a 47.8 reliability with slight overcooling. since i cant compete at the top pack, iād like at least finish the race
and i didnāt count how much fuel does my eco race car drinks, even if itās low, since the fuel tank is small, i may need to pit more than 3 times.
@koolkei: Same. Looking at Der Bayerās chart, a reliability of 25 is something like a 20% chance of engine failure during the race. Thatās quite a risk to take. Edit: My carās engine (I entered two identical vehicles) is sitting around 40.
If a lot of people are going for reliabilities in that zone, Iām going to look awful dumb guessing the under on number of cars to DNF at 35.
Thatās quite a risk, but itās only 1 race, and speed is quite important here, so no overcooling for me. For the full season a more sound strategy should be devised.
Mm - true. And itās not like I built my car for crashworthiness or driveability.
on one of my cars I think Iām like 438(actual)/460(required) cooling. aka zero percent chance of finishing. JK It will be interesting to see if my required cooling less reliable engine breaks, or slightly less than required and more reliable engine breaks.

Oppsā¦ I forgot about this calculationā¦ Odin only has 26.8 effective reliabilityā¦ Thor has 29.7ā¦ welpā¦ time to cross my fingers and looking for better effective reliability for the real season :\
@packbat:
but der bayer said that graph is based full throttle time right?
so bigger engines that have bigger power over all the powerband might not be able to put those power to the ground, which means less full throttle time.
so will in turn bigger engines with same reliability rating as the smaller ones = higher chances to finish?
if it is, my 7.7l might have >94% chance to finish
Make sure we brace ourselves to accept if our cars donāt finish. If everyone had 80% reliability and many donāt, then it wouldnāt be surprising if 20 cars had engine failures. Then on top of that we have crashes.
So, gird your loins for that one.
ALSO HYPE.
Iām gonna go ahead and tip Mattmr2 for the win. Shall we start a poll?
Having fast cars I hope at least crashes wonāt be my problemā¦and I hope reliability at 40 will be enough.
Yeah my thoughts exactly, Mattmr2 sure had the best car in test, at least it looked like it.
So will this weekend have 2 races?
I hope so XD
i think the second practice for this one and the 66BRC race

Iād vote for Pyrlix.
After the BRC66 , i think he can enter a steampowered Unicycle and still win.
