BRC QuER - Hockenheim 1000 km 1976 [FINISHED]
If I didn’t make a mistake, this is how the finishing chances are:

It shows full throttle time for engine reliabilities 5-50, so for the 1000 km race you probably need to look at 4,5-5 hours.
I dont think a lot of cars will make it.

To be honest, I’m glad I don’t have to aim for 80 reliability to have a good chance of making it, because I seriously thought that’s what I would have to do.

You must have a significant engine in that to get it to 290! XD
Being based on the initial drawings for the ABR Honeybadger, or rather the bastard cousin the Rabid Honeybadger, it is based on the principle more is more!
Powered by a 6798cc NA V8 producing 548hp and 705nm it weighs in at 1563,8kg which should be enough to survive even the worst destruction derby… Engine reliability of 42,9 should be plenty to finish I hope

Hating the bugginess i get when I try to fit wings, all my cars are without wings or lips, just so I don’t start hating too much, but aero work is required to reach 290 yes

You didn’t get even a 100hp/liter out of it? Most of the budget went into things other than an engine, didn’t it?

Perhaps

But getting the power down and lowering drag was where most of it went, along with +15 safety to get the much needed weight. And with 45% wheelspin, I figured enough hp, and went for reliability.

And compared to the 530hp 4L turbo I made, this engine is much more efficient at getting that power down and out at almost same price…

45% wheelspin?! Wow! I am guessing you won’t like the rain much?

I would gear a bit more conservative, to be honest. 5.1 to 60 is nice and all, but 548hp and 45% wheelspin is too much.

Just to be absolutely sure, as I’m in a bit of a hurry and can’t read all 10 pages… no limitations on format or drivetrain choice?

And what was the verdict on aero again?

No limit on aero

ANY aero. ANY drivetrain. ANY body if it is from 65 to 76.

Also if your name is NormanVauxhall you should stop trying to build reliable engines. It’s futile anyways.

The +15 safety is going to drain your money big time, you might be better off doing say, +12 and putting some into the seating to get the weight.

Already pretty high, and spacing of 28 which gives the best results with current setup. Now, this is not a top competitive car anyways, so haven’t spent too much time on it.

Probably, which also show’s why I haven’t squeezed more out of the engine, there is simply no “need”, as the money can be spent more efficiently elsewhere.

Tried, safety None + 15 gave plenty of weight without being too expensive. +12 and 15 in drivetrain and aero though are really costly

This was just meant as a funny sidetrack to show you can make a semi-competitive car with fringe solutions, but not if you want to win. Got my proper NA car down at 2.22.50 and got plenty to work on still, chasing Marcus’ sub 2.20 NA time, but not willing to sacrifice too much reliability in the engine, 25 is my absolute lowest limit…

You can also increase weight by adding body quality (and changing body materials, if necessary). Remember to go to the trim color tab before you go back to the results tab, though, or it won’t update everything properly.

First race back for EMW. Time to start at the drawing tables!

Here comes the last place entry…

Another information: Please enter your 2nd car with the player name and a 2 behind it (in BRCTool), i.e. Der Bayer2. That will make recognizing the car correctly in Automation and the BRC simulation a lot easier.

Well well, this will be fun
I’ve found this body to be pretty darn good in terms of lap times. I’m hoping your car will be very competitive against mine.
Love how Erin Motorsports has adapted the teal colour to their racing machine, will be enteresting to see if it helps in regards to accidents.

I do hope it does. It’s our team colours, should give us some luck. Perhaps it’ll improve on my 15 engine reliability in my BRC66 car

Oh boy. First attempt, 2:40… Looks like a long R&D Session tonight

i dont see big block V8 are viable option for now, yes it can reach 2:24 and 294 km/h on stat but suspension tuning doesnt really help, aero only make it worse, and my car barely have any grip at low speed and im not using turbo plus the 50%++ wheelspin which i dont like it considering its gonna rain. MR does help the wheel spin very well but there no body shell that can have big size V8 with turbo, still not counting the estimated fuel economy yet

either i tune the engine wrong or im not found the right powerband/engine size

figures i could get 2 secs off fairly easily, but to maintain that is gonna take WAY more fuel

The Pantera mod body will fit a 5.8l V8.
