BRC: Shakedown Challenge [FINISHED]

You’re going to want a decent amount of tameness for the bumpy stages, too stiff and you’ll have penalties.
What I can’t decide is if I should be modding one of my centauri 1.6 liters or one of my 4age replicas, choices choices :sunglasses:

MTBF is the one you get on the drivetrain tab (in the car). That’s why it’s in the “Car” section , not in “Engine”.

Sign me up for Group B!

If this becomes a regular thing, will some of us be able to enter as say, engine providers?

Like for example, if I had a topic with my engines available for download, and they met the regulations for future challenges, would others be able to use my engines in their cars for the challenges? It’d be a bit weird, but it could potentially make things exciting, seeing battles in the engine designing front to see who could provide the best engines.

All in good sport of course, I’m just curious.

That being said, if the open beta comes out sometime this week(So that I can actually build a working vehicle for this challenge) I’ll enter in Group B!

To add to CNSpots1’s question, can we team up in teams of two or more?

Count me in for both groups.
I haven’t seen anything in the news section, but I’m guessing the new update is going to land tomorrow or the day after?

I’ll be joining both classes

Legatum Racing Division is ready for the challenge (both classes).

Sure, you can team up and work on cars together, I have no problem with that. I just want to receive only one entry per class per player.

Since the beta is only in demo mode currently, can you extend the deadline to enter?

It’s only a quick test run, there will be bigger challenges later. I really want to start on Monday so that we’re done until the public (automatic) update. The problem should be fixed very soon anyway (hopefully until tomorrow). If not, we will have to wait of course and start later.

I’ll join both classes.

my 2 contenders from the austrian company “Mars Engineering”

ME Flea 140: (1600)

ME Phobos 270: (Group B)

And a second post, because i found a very stupid bug.
I was building both cars, and switched between them. Now whenever i load the other car and view the stats, the weight is off.
e.g. my 1600 car shows 822kg when entering new. when i klick on the disk brake size one up, and one down again, the weight shows the right amount of 820kg.
it’s even worse in my group b car. it shows 1102kg. again one step up and down again in a break disc, the weight is now corrected to 1114kg AND THE LAPTIME IS 9 SECONDS FASTER.

So please consider that when driving our cars around

Just a few quick questions:

  1. I cant find a year when I’m in the model designer. Am I right in assuming it automatically takes the the year from the platform?
  2. When you say standard safety requirements, is that for the score or the interior equipment? (and if it is the score, what score constitutes ‘standard’ safety?)
  3. Where is this mystical MTBF in the car tab that you talked about on the previous page? for now I will go by the MTBF of the engine when it is put in the car

1.Yes, you are right.
2.Go for standard 80s safety package and you’re all good.
3.Yes, it’s the MTBF of the engine as it is put into the car (engine has to be reloaded, if you go below the cooling requirements)

  1. Yes, it is taken from the platform.
  2. It is for the interior equipment.
  3. Here:

Thanks guys  cant believe I missed the MTBF when it is literally one inch from the button I press to alter the engine

edit
i guess you have to reload the engine with your updated MTBF for that number in the car editor to update itself

Count me in for Group B!

PS: <100 man hours, does this mean 100.0 man hours gets disqualified? Or is it “<=”

Just sent you my entry. It sometimes takes a couple of clicks around the place to get to the correct stats, but usually you don’t have to change anything.
