Please add Jakgoe and me for both groups, we work together
I’ll add you as soon as I got your files and tested the cars. So you can double-check if I forgot you.
To continue with the car naming problems discussion, if you do put penalties in for people not naming the platform correctly it would be good if you could remind everyone that you cant rename a platform after you have created a model for it, as I found out last night.
Actually, I believe there is a way to work around that. You just have to change the name within the .lua file.
Yes, I remember reading your thread. But having been programming at Uni until around 8 in the evening and then finally getting the car ready at well past midnight, messing with the lua files is the last thing i wanted to do.
Well, I might change from Group B to 1600 so as to keep within what I think my company would be able to actually compete in by '84. I should be able to make something by Sunday, I think!
I’m hoping I didn’t do things the wrong way, Der Bayer. If I did it was unintentional.
After taking a look at the competition I think I may be a bit down on power.
After having some issues with the test tracks i decided that i will only participate in Group B!
Count me in only for Group B Also, how do you send the engine/car files? you copy them out of the Automation folders?
Stick me down as a definite for Group B please, possible for 1600 if I get time too.
That may not be a bad thing. If you have used a naturally aspirated car, or a car with a small turbo then, while your peak power will be a lot lower, your power band will be a lot flatter than someone who stuck a huge turbo onto their engine and got a million horsepower, especially considering that we are making cars in 1984. That will make the driveability a lot better and give you an advantage in the corners. Also, you will probably have better low end power as well, which will help get the car out of the corners.
One of the cars i made (although not the one i entered) had a very similar amount of power compared to the only other entry that i can find (jakjoe’s 381bhp car) and, while i cant speak for his engine, my version had abysmal low end power and very peaky top end power.
Copy the files, zip them and send me a PM.
You got a PM
Submitted my 2 entries. I was inspired by this not very Rally styled Volvo 242
so here is the Volvo 240
200 horsepower heart ready to play in Demo 1600
500 horsepower of fury to tame for Group B
Ideally i think i could have optimized it all a little better… but where is the fun in that lol. Looking forward to interesting results.
Here the Znopresk entries
The Demo 1600 is based on the Zap automationgame.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=24499#p24499
The Group B is based on the Zeta coupe.
Sent in my Demo 1600 entry! Introducing the 1984 Platinum Tuna 1.6 Demo 1600, with a small I4 naturally aspirated engine producing over 2.5 times the power as the original '75 did!

My company is currently licencing our 1600cc class race engine to other start up teams. Feel free to use, just remember to credit CPV with powering your ride
Well, after about six on and off hours of working on a rally car for Group B, the design team at Gravida found the car to be too slow. A new design was done, shaving ten seconds off the time within the first hour of design. It’ll be in Der Bayer’s inbox in a few minutes from this post.
I showed mine becuase basically a 500 horsepower Volvo is going to be competing against itself not others, I wouldn’t exactly be using it as a standard
