@Razer: vmo had exactly the same problem, and what he did was uninstalled Automation, and after it is uninstalled, he deleted his Documents/Automation folder. Then download the launcher again and let it automatically update if it needs to. Then (hopefully) it should be all good. If this doesn’t work, then send vmo a PM or check this thread: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=4006&hilit=error
This fixed my problem! Thanks Pleb!
Glad to help
Finally got back from France, seen the big update, and then this happens every time (without fail) I try and go into the Sandbox Mode. Haven’t tried any other modes because frankly, I don’t give enough of a damn about the others to try.

Just delete all models and platforms you have. Solves the problem instantly.
Funny you say that, actually. I tried that right after submitting that last post. Now this happens as soon as I hit Play Game. All I did was delete the platform, model, and engine .LUA files.

Nuke and pave time, uninstall game and launcher, run cleaner, delete My Documents\Automation, reinstall.
[quote=“Nobin”]When I try the track mode this error keeps appearing everything is fine up until that point.

Similar issue with the test track. This is the error I get:
Edit: Attached Log
log.txt (6.05 KB)
Clear out your Documents/Automation folder, that should solve the problem. If that doesn’t work, uninstall and reinstall.
@Stephens: do you always get that crash or is that for specific cars? If so: what kind of cars?
I’ve had this problem as well starting in version 1198. Just don’t minimize the game during the loading at startup. You can switch windows, just not minimize.
Was working on a challenge idea when I noticed this happening. Trying to place any bonnet part on the roof of the station wagon model results in massive cutaway where cutaway shouldn’t be occurring. As for just not adding such a part up there… I like imagining it’s a rally car’s roof scoop, so it’s been a staple of mine to add to my rally cars.
Whoa! That’s my fault. It’s UV Unwrapped a bit wrong and I never noticed because i didn’t try putting anything on the roof! Does it do it on any other bodies?
I’ll check them out soon, though every other car I’ve tried didn’t have this issue.
Edit:
Row 1, last car: (RX-7-like body) very very slight cutaway noticeable between the roof and doors.
Row 2, last car, both bodies: I showed the screenshot of the station wagon version, but it does it on the hatch as well.
Those 3 are the only ones I’ve seen issues on the roof, but again, the RX-7’s is extremely slight. You have to zoom in pretty far, but it’s visibly cut out.
I actually don’t. The one I have noticed this with is the new fastback looking model. The one that resembles an RX-7 or Porsche 944.
There’s a minor bug with the bodywork by the mirrors of the really old body when you flare its wheel arches. I’m pretty sure the small miscoloured triangular blade isn’t supposed to be sticking out of the bottom of the windscreen pillar.
Not really bugs, but this still seems to be the best place to post this. These are things I wouldn’t mention now, except the patch notes said the Engine and Car Designers are now considered more or less complete.

Looking at Capacity in the Options menu, if I have it set to use cc/L, it still displays the Bore and Stroke in inches in the Engine Designer. It seems the Capacity setting currently only affects the Test screen. The Bottom End screen is currently incorrectly (IMO) using the Length setting in the Options menu. I want to see the cylinder Bore and Stroke in mm while having the length, width, and height of the engine displayed in inches. I believe that is what was intended since the Test screen does display cc’s. Changing the Bore and Stroke to use the Capacity setting instead of the Length setting in the Options menu would fix this.
EDIT: This one is minor since it displays the cc’s when editing the Bore/Stroke. -
The Options menu now has selections for liters/100km and mpg, but Killrob said an option for km/L would be added as well. I just want to make sure this doesn’t get forgotten.

The Devs have previously stated that the game will differentiate between 4WD and AWD, but currently even in 1940, only AWD is listed, when only 4WD was available at the time. I feel that it’s important that this distinction is made.

1: I’ll have to let the devs respond to this.
2: I’m sure they’ll add it, for now, just use a calculator
.
3: 4WD is not implemented yet.

Cool. Again, as I said, these are things I wouldn’t mention now if the patch notes hadn’t said the Engine and Car Designers are now considered more or less complete.
