Car of the year 1996 (Open For Submissions)

Alright, just over 24 hours left to open if we have no more suggestions?

Just basic realism rule:
Tyres end in 5

I’ve been stuck without comms for a few days. Hopefully not too late to propose amendments? Main one I’d like to see changed is the loudness limit; 45 for a performance car is too low, while 35 for a luxury one is too high (unless it’s a high-performance lux build). Recommend 60 and 25, respectively, assuming lux and performance are intended to be separate, not overlapping (otherwise 60 and 45).

Lesser suggestions:
Base shouldn’t value performance over comfort.
Performance could value prestige more, perhaps?
Luxury cars in this day and age care more about performance than dead last.
Base 4/5-doors to have at least 5 full seats.

The reason I chose to keep them close is that they are trims and not full performance or Lux cars, I felt it was for the best. Though I definitely see where you’re coming from.

As for the base I felt the market preferred a peppy cheap car over a comfortable one in the 90s.
Luxury variants usually had the performance engine so i agree i should have placed it a bit higher and will take that into consideration for my next event.

As for the base, I didn’t want to make any assumptions on what the vehicle is based on, i wanted to allow full creativity for this. Trucks, Vans, coupes, shooting brakes, sedans, etc.

Car Lore:
Behold the magnificence of CBC autos, the car company that has been on verge of bankruptcy for all their life! with the motto “If you don’t risk everything, you’re not giving your everything”. The problem is, the company doesn’t have much to begin with. But once in a while they create the one thing that might actually be decent. 90’s was a good decade for CBC due to the economy being the most generous for exports! And their “Quest” line was the best of their line ups! Offering a cheap economy car with 27 miles per gallon from an Inline 4 but in a decently size sedan body, the NX is the car for the people. Priced only at $7,150 MSRP at 1996, the car was a popular choice and a good source of income for CBC’s weird projects. The LX, is often described as the weird choice amongst the luxury cars, it’s hard to distinguish it from the NX which surprisingly was a popular choice in eastern markets, because the car was comfortable, and only priced at $37,000,00 MSRP at 1996, it was a steal for major companies to buy these as company vehicle fleets! After that people realized these depreciating luxury sedans came with a powerful V8, making it a favorite amongst broke college students in later years, And lastly, CBC couldn’t prevent themselves making a sporty coupe off the Quest, and with it, the SX trim was born! Redesigning the body to a coupe, using the engine from their LX trim, a 3.2 liter V8 motor, and an advanced all wheel drive system, the car was a pleasant question mark! While being priced at $29,000,00 MSRP at 1996, the car was a favorite GT Cruiser of many and also a favorite of future college kids as their “project car”. The Quest was the best of CBC during 90s, an unreliable but well-liked car of the 96!

Yeah, I know your not a noob. I wanted to clarify incase a new member is joining.

Is there a potential for getting bonus points for being below the budget?

Bugeting will be considered, and may be the difference between winning and losing.*

Not just budget, but theres other specs that i havent mentioned that will help me max the final decision rather than just raw specs or visuals.

(Nothing like persol preference will be included)
