I can probably get my car together sometime in the next 2 days, will that be soon enough?
After going through the entire Fore Gen IV lineup from eco box to touring hot hatch, I decided to submit something like an R++ version of the current modern hot hatch competitors, meaning sports interior, standard entertainment. And a lot of FF powaaaaaa
And also… @abg7 Sorry for the shorter review but every issue someone will have a ‘main’ review and others have shorter reviews. Next week it could be you!
Here is the 2015 CMT Renegade. The Golf class was occupied by the CMT Commuter V that became a whole model family between BMW 1 and 3. It had RWD and was a very unique choice since 2009.
But yeah, demand for an FWD car was there and CMT built one that fits the image of something like “German Dodge”, aggressive design, enough power, but high quality.
The Renegade GT as shown here uses an engine of a rather unusual size of 1700 ccm. It’s 220 HP are enough to let it break the magic 250 kmh-limit, an acceleration of unter 7 seconds to 100 is still competetive.
It’s design is not that what everyone likes, the Renegade is a car that should be more individual than the Defiant that was built for the mass market.
And yes, CMTs have never been a real bargain, but it’s not overpriced in relation to comparable VW Golf.
