Like the rear end treatment on that — for a minute I thought those were side exit exhausts.

They’re not, right?

Killer looks. Killer performance.

Fairywind is lethal to the competition.

Let’s say you need to get somewhere really, really, really fast.
A common thing in today’s world, where information can move quicker than you can blink. Oh, we’re doing lunch on the other side of town? Not a problem. Not anymore.

Fairywind now comes in FF1000 guise. What does that mean? One session in the driver’s seat will explain it all. A modern rendition of Ting’s all-American V12, including a unique variable supercharger and sending the power through one tough dual-clutch to exclusively the rear wheels for an experience like no other.

Sure, you can get there any way you like. But there’s no substitute for a complete package of speed, style, modern technology blended with vintage vibes for something all its own. Or the 1,000+ horsepower. That too.

(Make sure you get a funny vanity plate, too. People will be staring at your rear a lot.)

FF1000 model shown may include additional options. Price may vary.

“Alright.”
Maron opened her laptop in her office as sunlight draped on her walls. She held a list in her hand as the laptop booted up.
“‘You have to find which of these impound cars are actually viable for our project,’” Maron facepalmed as she held the list to the sunlight. “I don’t see why Mackenzie can’t do this himself given it’s his idea, but let’s get it over with.”

Zephorus Focoso @Riley

“Hmm,” Maron scrolled on her laptop, “The internet says the Focoso is prone to brake fade and has a billet steel crank? What’s that?” Maron raised an eyebrow as she typed. “Something that’ll be too expensive to replace when it breaks.” She grabbed a pen and crossed the name off the list, “Let’s move on.”

Violations: Has sportiness brake fade, uses race part (billet steel crank).
Verdict: banned.
Reason: Multiple violations is a ban.

Novara Nova Vampire @l0jli

“What’s this called again?” She squinted at the list. “What idiot didn’t put it in our records correctly?” She shook her head as she typed. “Woah, this isn’t street legal. It failed emissions testing for its year. I’m surprised the government hasn’t seized it yet,” She crossed the name off the list. “Plus the company went bankrupt, so finding OEM support will be hard.”

Violations: Submitted with wrong name format, fails emissions.
Verdict: banned.
Reason: Multiple violations is a ban.

Kechler P47 RS @ILIKECARS

“Great, another mismatched record.” Maron typed on her computer. “This one has a whole host of issues. Severe brake fade, weirdly sized tires, and a lot of downforce for a road car.” Maron crossed out the name, “Probably not good for us.”

Violations: Submitted with wrong name format, has sportiness brake fade, tire size does not end in 5, has more than 3 aero fixtures.
Verdict: banned.
Reason: Multiple violations is a ban.

Ibis Osprey GTE/H @nightwave

“Woah!” Maron shot forward. “This one’s way more expensive than the others!” She read her laptop screen, “Even with the technology the company has at its disposal.” She crossed out the name, “At least replacement parts seem common, though.”

Violations: Exceeds maximum in game price of $75,000, exceeds maximum techpool budget.
Verdict: banned.
Reason: Multiple violations is a ban.

DDS Super 4-R @DuceTheTruth100

“This one looks promising,” The blue car shined on her laptop screen. “Wait,” She leaned forward, “Where’s the gas cap?” She scrolled down, “And is that a hatchback?” She raised an eyebrow as her pen hovered over the name, “Better safe than sorry.”

Violations: No gas cap, hatchback body as viewed by the game.
Verdict: banned.
Reason: Single cosmetic error is forgivable, body style violation is a ban.

DCMW Marqaba Superiority Twelve M @moroza

“Seriously, who’s in charge of entering these into our database?” Maron facepalmed. “We should never hire interns ever agai- Ooo!” She shot forward, “This one looks really nice!” She read on, “Wait, this one has one of those billet steel cranks.” She crossed off the name, “We’ll have to pass over it, unfortunately.”

Violations: Submitted with wrong name format, uses race part (billet steel crank).
Verdict: banned.
Reason: Multiple violations is a ban.

Bovos XF9 Omni @Ultimate_Billy

“Another billet steel crank?” Maron dragged her hand down her face as she scrolled on the laptop, “And more brake fade problems?” She crossed the name off the list, “I do like the way this one looks, though.”

Violations: Has sportiness brake fade, uses race part (billet steel crank).
Verdict: banned.
Reason: Multiple violations is a ban.

Sierra Grawler BSR-X @happyfireballman

“What an odd name for a car.” Maron scrolled through the images, “It looks like a supercar, but where’s the gas cap?” She shrugged, “I’m sure it’s somewhere.” She clicked on a website, “I don’t see any other glaring faults with it, so this one stays.”

Violations: No gas cap.
Verdict: Legal.
Reason: Single cosmetic error with no other violations.

OOC commentary

Riley, another fantastic looking car from you that landed in the bin because of a few small errors. The car boasted very strong stats all around, except for a sky high service cost and an abysmal reliability stat. A simple double check may have kept this one legal.

l0jli, one of the few who took the “service cost lore” assignment to heart. The stats on this one were not the best, the most glaring being the bone shattering ride. Using more of the techpool would’ve helped you out.

ILIKECARS, this one had the most errors out of any car sent in. The stats were alright, but the lateral g’s were quite low thanks to its relatively skinny tires. Like with l0jli, using more of the techpool would’ve helped.

nightwave, yours was one of the smaller entries in the field. But, even with using too much techpool, the car was vastly over budget. The stats except for raw performance were below average, as well.

DuceTheTruth100, I was very shocked to discover the game classified yours as a hatchback instead of a sedan. Because of the poll I opened on body style mid way through submissions, I had to let this one go. Your car boasted one of the highest fuel economy stats and I think was the only one sent as a partial space frame.

moroza, another stunning work of art with great numbers, all with an NA setup. But, a billet steel crank is a race part as stated in the rules, so it must go in the bin. A very strong entry none the less.

Ultimate_Billy, you were right in describing this as ‘a lot of car’. It had some of the best performance stats, especially in acceleration. However, the brake fade and billet steel crank cannot be overlooked.

“Hey, Mackenzie.”
Maron held her phone to her ear as she stared out her office window.
“Ah, Maron,” Mackenzie’s voice came through her phone. “Have you looked through that impound list yet?”
“I just finished it now, sir,” The sun glinted off the skyline. “It was dreadful, if I’m honest, but I have a list of cars to pursue.”
“Very good.”
“Do you want me to set up an appointment with the impound lot, sir?”
“Yeah, that’d be nice. Let’s go look at them together.”
“Together, sir?” Maron raised her eyebrow.
“What, you don’t want to go?”
“I wasn’t really counting on it, sir.”
“It’ll be fun, Maron! Where’s your spirit of adventure?”
“It died in middle school, sir.”
“Eh, now’s a great time to get it back. Thanks for looking through them.”
“You’re welcome, sir,” Maron said.
“See you later.”

Hmpf.

Yes, it’s my fault for not reading carefully, but I (and most of us) got used to Race parts being only those with “race” in the name.

“Are you ready for this, Maron?”

Mackenzie lowered his cap brim as he drove down the street, sun poking through the windshield.
“About as ready as I can be, sir,” Maron pushed her glasses up as she looked out the side window.
“Still haven’t found your sense of adventure?”
“No, sir.”
“Think of a visit to the impound lot as a nice break from the stuffy office.”
“Yes, because walking around ex convict cars is my idea of relaxing, sir.”
“You’re too cynical for your own good, sometimes.”
“And you are too angry, sir, with all due respect.”
“Those bandits will get theirs,” Mackenzie gripped the steering wheel, “Believe me.”
Mackenzie turned down a road and stopped before a crossbar.

“I need to see some ID, sir,” An officer leaned out of a toolbooth.
“Captain Nathan Mackenzie,” He held out his badge, “With Sergeant Mia Maron. We’re here to look at some impound cars.”
The officer scanned a clipboard, “I have you two right here, sir. Your cars are sitting in the hangar at the end of the lot.” He stuck his arm out the window, “See it, sir?”
“I didn’t even know we had a hangar here,” Mackenzie stuck his torso out of the car.
“It’s only for the special cars, sir.” The officer opened the gate, “Have a nice time.”
“Thanks, officer.” Mackenzie shifted into first and drove in, “Now let’s see what lies in store!”

Comanche Heron @breadtheloaf

“This looks like a normal sedan, Maron,” Mackenzie walked up to the car.
“Don’t be fooled, sir,” Maron held her laptop on her arm. “This Comanche Heron has a 6.2L V12 and can almost hit 240 MPH.”
“This one looks like it’s been here a while,” Mackenzie kicked a deflated tire.
“Records show it used to belong to a border smuggler. We busted him two years ago.”
“I bet this thing really ‘flies’, doesn’t it?”
Maron grimaced as sunlight bounced off her face.
“Right. What’s the catch with this one?”
“Internet forums report this thing costs a lot to service and it breaks down a lot.”
“Ouch,” Mackenzie winced. “The chief won’t like that when we get the bills for it. Maybe we should leave this one behind.”
“That may be wise, sir.”

Verdict: 10th. Sportiness and drivability were very high, but it scored the worst in reliability and service costs. This one will spend more time in the shop than on the road.

Cairns Brigadier R765 @the-chowi

“Ooo.” Mackenzie rushed to the car. “This one looks muscley.”
“The internet says so, too, sir.” Maron held her laptop, “This Brigadier R765 is a true monster of a machine. We busted this guy for credit card fraud.”
“I bet it’s supercharged,” Mackenzie nodded at the car.
“It is, sir,” Sunlight glinted off of Maron’s glasses. “Like many on our list. It’s also very easy to fix and very reliable.”
“The chief will like that.”
“It’s also cheap and very safe, sir.”
“What’s the downside?”
“It’s on the slower end of our list, sir, and it’s not the sportiest thing in the world.”
“How slow?”
“One of the slowest, sir.”
“Hmm,” Mackenzie stroked the stubble on his chin, “Maybe we hold on this one for now. If we need faster squad cars in the future, maybe we can add this one to the list.”
Maron typed on her laptop, “Yes, sir.”

Verdict: 5th. Very good on service costs, reliability, and price, but a little lagging on the performance front to be a finalist.

Hexe Tamara 2.0 SE @Isabella

“You’re telling me this giant ass thing only has a 2L?” Mackenzie patted the hood.
“That’s correct, sir,” Maron said. “It has something called a compound turbo setup.”
“Then this thing’s relying on its boost to get its performance.”
“It’s got a 260 MPH top speed and supercar acceleration,” Maron read her notes, “Although it’s a bit lacking in the corners, sir.”
“That kind of straight line speed is what we need.”
Maron read her laptop screen, “The internet does say that this car feels dreadful to drive fast.”
“Any other weaknesses besides that?”
“Nothing too glaring besides that. It is very fuel efficient.”
“Hmm,” Mackenzie stroked his chin, “Let’s see if there’s anything better before we get settled on this one. Fuel efficiency being one of the strong suits doesn’t seem right for a car of this caliber.”
“It’s your call, sir.”

Verdict: 4th. A strong scorer in many of the 2 and 1 star stats, but not a heavy enough hitter where it counts to place higher.

Vorsen Roadhawk S

“What is this dreadful looking thing?” Mackenzie grimaced at the car.
“The Vorsen Roadhawk S, sir,” Maron held out her laptop. “It has some seriously impressive performance stats. The archives said this one outran us a few times before we snagged the culprit after he ran out of gas.”
“It looks crosseyed.”
“It’s an interesting styling choice, sir,” Maron’s brown hair rested on her shoulders, “But it is cheap to service and very reliable.”
“I can’t get over this thing’s front,” He glanced behind the car, “And the rear isn’t much better.”
“I take it this one’s a no, sir?”
“Yeah,” Mackenzie dragged his hand down his face. “Let’s look at the next one.”

Verdict: 9th. A grand slam in the three big areas, being one of two to beat the Badger at everything, but the design lets this one down a LOT.

MEPAC Chaser @George

“What the hell is this?” Mackenzie pouted as he walked around the car.
“It’s the MEPAC Chaser, sir,” Maron’s glasses shone in the sunlight.
“But what is it?” Mackenzie patted the long roof. “It’s like some sort of wagon coupe thingy.”
“I couldn’t get an answer from the internet on it,” Maron scrolled through her laptop. “But it has the fastest quarter mile time of all the cars.”
“That could come in handy. How are the rest of the stats?”
“Very strong, sir. Except it’s a bit light.”
“That won’t do well for us,” Mackenzie shook his head. “We need to be able to rough up the bandits.”
“It’s also very expensive and it scored low on its safety tests.”
“Then I say we move on.”
“Agreed, sir.”

Verdict: 7th. A great blend of drivability and sportiness, but the most expensive by far. Other cars offer better value.

Kurosake R-GT @David_Herrera

“This thing is tiny,” Mackenzie walked towards the grey coupe.
“The Kurosake R-GT is known for its agility, sir,” The laptop fan whirred as Maron read from the screen. “This one used to belong to a tax dodger.”
“Does it have the chops to keep up with the others?” He peered inside the driver’s window.
“No, sir,” Maron read from her laptop. “It’s on the slower end of the rides.”
“And it doesn’t look too heavy, either,” Mackenzie kicked the tire. “That won’t help us in a slug fest.”
“Compared to the other cars, sir, this one doesn’t have much going for it,” Maron scrolled through her notes. “The only standout stat here is the fuel economy.”
“I don’t think it’s up to snuff,” Mackenzie brushed past her.
“Me neither, sir,” Maron followed him.

Verdict: 11th. Being one of the slowest cars and only having a strong fuel economy stat, this one is outclassed by nearly every other car.

Durand Imperius DSE @Nebulon

“This thing is massive,” Mackenzie walked around the car. “It’s the size of an aircraft carrier!”
“This Durand is known for being very tame to drive, among other good things.”
“Like what?” Mackenzie leaned on the roof.
“Cheap to service, high safety ratings, very practical.”
“Anything this size will be practical.”
“Maybe that’s why the mafia boss we arrested bought it, sir.”
“I’m sure he had many uses for this,” Mackenzie turned his ballcap as he peered through the window.
“It’s also in the top half performance wise, sir,” Maron scrolled on her laptop, “And it’s fun to drive.”
“The design’s pretty sick, too.” Mackenzie pointed at the car, “I like this land yacht. “Write it down as one of our contenders.”
“Yes, sir.”

Verdict: Moves on to the finals.

Sesia Leonov @Vanilla

“This one looks sleek,” Mackenzie ran his finger down the side of the car.
“It’s the Sesia Leonov, sir,” Maron said. “This one has one of the highest cornering g’s on the list.”
“What else does it have going for it?”
“Cheap to service, reasonably comfortable, easy to push to the limits, and in the faster half of our list of cars.”
“And the downsides?”
“It’s a bit light, sir.”
“I’m intoxicated by this thing,” Mackenzie patted the hood.
“Do you and it need some time alone, sir?”
“Oh shut up,” Mackenzie brushed past her. “This is another one of our contenders. Add it.”
Maron typed on her laptop, “Yes, sir.”

Verdict: Moves on to the finals.

Shinxa Ikari 5.6 X @HyperskiesSM

“This one’s got a loooong hood,” Mackenzie walked to the car.
“Yet it’s only got a V8 inside,” Maron read her laptop, “Which apparently runs like someone’s dropped gravel into it.”
“I like this thing!” Mackenzie crossed his arms and grinned. “Tell me more about it.”
“This Shinxa Ikari is the cheapest to buy, cheap to service, and very quick, even for these types of cars.” Maron adjusted her glasses, “This design looks iffy to me, sir.”
“Oh come on! It’s fast and you know it!”
“I never contested that, sir.”
“Add it to the list,” Mackenzie waved his hand.
“Yes sir,” Maron grumbled.

Verdict: Moves on to the finals.

Seminole Panthera GT @lilphilyiv

“Haven’t we seen this one before?” Mackenzie raised an eyebrow.
“We haven’t, sir,” Maron pushed up her glasses. “This is the Seminole Panthera GT. You’re thinking of the Kurosake R-GT.”
“Those names aren’tt confusing at all,” Mackenzie shook his head.
“Not in the slightest, sir.” Maron read her laptop, “This is overall the best performer of the cars here, and it’s also pretty cheap.”
“But?”
“It drives like a pig and it’s very uncomfortable, sir.”
“I’m not sure we want that tradeoff for this kind of performance,” He crossed his arms as dust settled on the car.
“Not when we have other cars that have similar performance, sir.”
“Let’s move on,” Mackenzie cocked his head to the side.
“Yes, sir.”

Verdict: 6th. The best performance of all the cars here comes saddled with dead last driveability and sportiness. Even its cheap price couldn’t save it.

Ting Fairywind FF1000 @supersaturn77

“This thing looks like it came straight out of Bullet.” Mackenzie walked around the car.
“The Ting has almost 1100 HP,” Maron stood by the hood. “It’s the most powerful car here.”
“A big old brick of muscle and sinew!” Mackenzie patted the roof.
“It’s comfortable and cheap to service,” Maron scanned her laptop screen, “But it chews through gas and is one of the slower cars on the list.”
“Even with all that power?” Mackenzie raised an eyebrow. “It must spend it all spinning the wheels.”
“It is RWD, sir.”
“Aw, man,” Mackenzie kicked a rock. “I wanted to use this one.”
“Because it looks like it’s from the 60s, sir?”
“Because we’d look classy and-!” His words bounced off of Maron’s blank face. “You know what, nevermind. Let’s move on.”

Verdict: 8th. Lots of power but it can’t use it effectively, plus below average on a few key stats.

Sierra Grawler BSR-X @happyfireballman

“Now THIS is a sports car!” Mackenzie grinned.
“It’s the only mid-engined vehicle on the list,” Maron stared at her notes. “That would make it a super car.”
“And it looks mean!” Mackenzie furrowed his brow as he walked around the back, “But the rear looks outdated.” He looked up, “I bet it’s fast!”
“Believe it or not, sir,” Maron scanned her screen, “No. It’s the slowest of all the cars on my list.”
“Are you sure?” Mackenzie peered at the screen.
“The numbers don’t lie, sir,” Maron turned her head. “It’s also very light, sir, and costs a lot to run.”
“That won’t help us against the giant ass wagon the bandits have or the chief.” He crossed his arms, “I guess we’ll have to look past this one.”
“And I still can’t find that gas cap,” Maron grumbled.
“What was that?”
“Those bandits are asshats, sir.”
Mackenzie balled his hands into fists, “I’m aware.”

Verdict: 12th. The Grawler placed dead last in many stats, including overall performance. The only mid engined vehicle stays at the bottom of the pack.

10:57 AM

“Well, Maron,” Mackenzie drove down the road, “How’d you like it?”

“I had a good time, sir,” She stared out the windshield.
Mackenzie glanced over, “Then tell your long face.”
“I’m glad we have some leads to pursue, sir,” Maron turned her head.
“So looking at all those beautiful rides did nothing for you?”
“I’m not a car person, sir, you know this. I’m for the plan, though, since it can solve one of our biggest problems.”
Mackenzie’s grip tightened around the wheel, “Those bandits will have it coming to them when we’re done. Just you watch!” He shook his head as he passed a van, “Who’s the guy in charge of the driving academy again?”
“That’s Captain Fartar, sir.”
“Give him a call. Tell him we’ll have some new rides coming his way.”
Maron grabbed her phone, “Yes, sir.”

Short OOC

Comanche Heron - NA V12 power sadly got outclassed on the service cost and reliability front by a LOT. Its other stats weren’t enough to compensate for the two fat goose eggs in the 3 star stats.

Cairns Brigadier R765 - My personal favorite of the lot and a great placement with its RWD powertrain, but sadly not good enough to displace the top contenders.

Hexe Tamara 2.0 SE - Still don’t know how a car this big moves with a 2L I4. It was just shy of a podium placement, despite its terrible sportiness.

Vorsen Roadhawk S - This one was one of the best performers, but was severely held back by its poor design. Perhaps try a collab in the future, eh?

MEPAC Chaser - The absolute gonads to send in a shooting brake. An excellent blend of stats but not strong enough where it mattered. Still, at long last, you’re not last place.

Kurosake R-GT - Too small for its own good. It didn’t have the brawn or the stats to place high.

Seminole Panthera GT - This one almost crashed my game a few times when opening it. Even its strong performance couldn’t make up for its bottom of the pack drivability and sportiness.

Ting Fairywind FF1000 - The most powerful entrant with tasteful retro inspired styling, but it scored too low in many areas for it to place higher.

Sierra Grawler BSR-X - I’m sure you knew you wouldn’t place high for being so last minute, but kudos to being the only mid engined car here.

To be continued…

F-f-finals??? M-ME?

A-anyways… I have just a small thing to add to this, when you’ll create the final points list (all contenders) please write the car name next to the points and person, its quite annoying to scroll up and down to “which car did this person make again?”.

Anyways, im super happy!
