Centauri Industries 2006 Buffalo and TracPac released!

The Sprite has been reworked.

The next design being worked on is a throwback idea, once upon a time America loved it’s station wagons and we here at Centauri think they still do. We are creating on a working man’s wagon, built along the lines of the cult classic AMC Eagle Scout, while not yet ready for the public eye we can tell you a few details. Power is coming from a newly designed, long stroke 3.5 liter OHV V8, roughly 150 hp and 200 ft lbs go through a automatic gearbox to all four wheels. With seating for 5, good cargo room, load capacity and very decent off road capabilities make this a strong contender with the Subaru lineup. The economy is still being worked out but we are expecting to finish near 36 mpg / 6.5L/100k. Pictures and stats should go up tonight after work.

A new flagship sedan, born from the Ultimate FWD contest the comet has been reborn in it’s production dress, sporting a 350hp 4.0 liter V8 routed though a AWD 7 speed automatic this sedan is user friendly and returns 20mpg despite tipping the scales at over 2 tons.

Due to flagging sales we have revised the Centauri Sprite, featuring reworked body panels and a reworked engine, the new model will come in a base option which will soon appear in cheeseman’s small car comparison, and this the hot hatch RS model. They share the same basic underpinnings of, suspension, engine block, and design, the body is the same style however the metal used has been lighted and treated to better protect the frame, in addition the RS boasts a functional hood scoop, retuned suspension, uprated interior, a 16 valve head with asubstantial power gain to 166hp from the same naturally aspirated 1.5 liter block as the base Sprite as well as an astronomical 9000rpm redline.

Currently in development is a remake of the Phoenix, a low budget midengine sports car, with a planned 7 trim levels! Prices are expected to range from $20,000-$30,000US and give modern competition to everything from a Toyota MR2, Porsche boxter, and even as high as a lotus exige. Utilizing a single engine family of all aluminum, multipoint fuel injected, DOHC 16v 4 cylinders displacing between 1.8 to 2.5 liters the Phoenix will be open to aftermarket engine swaps between trims.
Projected lineup
Phoenix “S” base trim/ featuring rwd and 5 speed open diff, Approx 130 HP

Phoenix “RS” sport trim/ uprated version of the S mounting the same engine but with Awd and a viscous diff.

Phoenix “GT” performance trim/ uprated brakes, interior, suspension, and a larger more powerful engine approx 170hp awd 6 speed viscous diff

Phoenix “GTS” premium trim/ same as GT but with a focus on comfort, different suspension, interior, quieter exhaust, active wing and flaps, AWD 6 speed auto, viscous diff

I look forward to continuing our feud!

Looking for a collaborator, My current project car is “The Paladin” originally designed for the 1978 “Touch of class” challenge I have made a 2015 version, but I’d like someone to help with styling and suspension tweaks. This is a premium muscle car designed with cost, comfort, and reliability in mind. 0-60 in 5.2, the quarter mile in the mid 13’s, 30mpg us, reliability over 70, all with a 6 speed automatic and a total cost just over 13k. anyone want to give it a try?

After the boys from CPV were so kind as to provide GG with some “experimental” engine builds, we would be more than happy to return the favour with suspension tuning +/- styling tweaks. Just PM me a brief and I’ll cook up something.

I’m no good at suspension tuning (but I’ll have a go anyway  ) but I’ll happily try and do a re-style of your car if you’d like… PM the files and I’ll give it a whirl

The files are on my last post, it’s a 4 seat muscle car so styling should not be subtle but it’s no hypercar either, so in clarkson terms it should look loud but not overly shouty.

Would you like the result PM’d to you or placed in this thread?

Here is fine, I’m going to be on mobile for a few days.

Here are my finished images…

The front quarter…

The rear quarter…

I’ve gone for a subtle, yet high performance, style without any attempt at flashiness. I apologise that it looks similar to cars of my own but I like subtle performance so the designs will ultimately look closely related!
Your design wasn’t bad in the first place so it’s only in the details where I was able to (IMO) make any improvements.

I wasn’t able to see any glaring flaws in your chassis setup which means that Strop will most likely find some speed but I did notice that your brakes have fade… For not much cost that can be easily remedied using carbon items or better balanced vented items; I prefer a car with imperfect front:rear balance and trustworthy brakes!

I’m very impressed with your engine design; getting a 6.3L pushrod six to actually work is a feat in itself!

It looks good thanks for the tweaks, the more in depth details strop asked for included keeping the comfort and driveability high without sacrificing service costs I’m not sure what carbon ceramic brakes add but it didn’t quite fit with my image of a sub $40k daily driver muscle car, which was why I stuck with the vented disc and less aggressive pads. My benchmark was the camaro ss, but cheaper. I’ll download it when I can and see how the numbers work out, as for the engine thank you, I’ve played around with big straight 6’s in the past http://automationgame.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=3684&p=41538#p41538 with the same kind of power curve but this is the first one in the post steam release.

As for the looks I’m kind of glad you did away with my hood scoops, I’ve been adding them a lot of late and your choice to enlarge the louver vents instead makes it look far more refined.

edit while I had this model set at the camaro SS once I get home and look over the various tweaks and pointers the two of you give it will likely be the middle part of a trifecta including a low boost base model, targeting the v6 pony cars, hopefully priced at $24-25k (total cost ~9000) and a high boost performance model which will likely have those carbon brakes as standard targeting the range topper sport trims like zl-1 and scatpack 392 priced around $45-50k (total cost ~17000). And maybe if I’m feeling particularly insane the hellcat or gt500 uber boost trim in the $60k range (total cost ~20000) I’m not looking for this to be a spine shattering track car like the gt350 or z/28 so it will always favor drivability and comfort over sportiness and cornering G’s.

I’m glad I could help!

Ha! So it seems, without meaning to, I’ve almost made a diesel pickup motor. Here’s the power graph from a 6.7 Cummings straight 6 out of a 2010 dodge ram.

I do like this ludicrous torque that’s going on here, it tempts me to do things.

Either way, here’s some pictures of my own mild tweak of the styling. Note that I hid a wing in the rear lip, if you were wondering what was going on with the aero settings!

Also niall, unfortunately my engine tweaks may not have saved judging by what I saw when I re-opened my files. Do let me know if it’s identical to the original. I sacrificed a smidge of fuel economy for higher torque and top end power to nudge the car’s top speed to 305km/h.

My work has been short handed this month so I’m pulling 6 day weeks, I’ll get to it when I can thank you for the work, nice detail with the T-top. As for the engine I have had a 600 lbft 450hp and a 650lbft 500hp version of it since I first started playing around with it, though economy has suffered a bit, I’ll see what saved and what didn’t and let you know. You’re free to use the engine if you want to do something crazy.

In the mid 2000’s the Knight was facing increasing pressure to update it’s look, 2005 marked the facelift of the model, still sporting it’s simple struts upfront/solid bar out back suspension it’s handling had been tuned for a more predictable and sporting ride. this facelift also moved foward in terms of engines, gone was the oldschool v8 of yesteryear, this new knight sported a debored and understroked version of the 5.5 quad cam of the supercar prototype, now displacing 5 liters this engine still produces 352hp, good enough to propel the 1550 kilo car down the quarter mile just ahead of the rival Ford mustang GT, though it trails it by half a second to 60.
