McDoug Motors goes racing once more.
Fresh off the dealer lot without even a livery… sorry guys maybe I can slap some stickers on latter.
A tuned turbo under the hood could result in some impressive results

Introducing two high-performance race cars developed by Savoia Corse, the racing division of Savoia Automobili, as they make their public debut for the upcoming racing season.
Savoia Corse 510 GTC
First up is the 510 GTC, a powerhouse designed for the GTC class. This mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive car is equipped with the G50V10BA – a 4,962 cc V10 naturally aspirated engine that delivers 550 horsepower at 7500 RPM and 532.5 Nm of torque. With a 0 to 100 km/h time of just 2.92 seconds and a top speed of 353 km/h, this machine combines raw speed and agility. Its aluminum monocoque chassis and pushrod suspension system provide optimal handling, and its 42% front and 58% rear weight distribution ensures stability even at high speeds.
Savoia Corse Thunderbolt TCD
In the TCD category, Savoia Corse presents the Thunderbolt TCD. Built as a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive racer, the Thunderbolt TCD features the G23L4BT – a 2,262 cc inline-4 turbocharged engine producing 349.8 horsepower at 6900 RPM and 425.3 Nm of torque. This model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.88 seconds, with a top speed of 273 km/h. It’s designed for a balance of power and efficiency, with a fuel economy of 12.5 L/100 km. Featuring an aluminum monocoque chassis and double-wishbone suspension, this car’s 57% front and 43% rear weight distribution maximizes cornering precision.
These two debut models from Savoia Corse embody the pinnacle of Italian engineering, with a focus on speed, control, and innovation. Designed to dominate their respective classes, they mark an exciting chapter in Savoia Automobili’s racing legacy.

The HM61 series Owlsa EX-TCD
Planar’s Owlsa EX-TCD is an odd one, being their V8 Supercars entry modified as little as possible to fit within Cestalis’ TCD regularions.
That results in a car that’s slightly more tame, with a smaller and less powerful engine, as well as added spotlights for extra visibility.
But outside of that, it’s still a very rough-and-ready V8 Supercar at its core. Fibreglass panels, light spaceframe chassis, and rather basic aero are all in this car’s DNA.
Planar’s entering two of these cars for this year’s Cestalis, #77 and #78, and there’s hope they can demonstrate what Aussie race cars are all about.

GTC
Offence: Wheelbase is under 2.5m.
Decision: Entry rejected.
Reason: The car has a wheelbase of 2.45m when the minimum allowed for the GTC class is 2.50m.
Offence: Power is over the maximum allowed.
Decision: 10s penalty on the first stop for cars #57 and #97. Manifold size reduced from 50 to 48 (power goes from 550.7hp to 549.7hp).
Reason: The engine makes more power than allowed, but by less than 1hp.
Offence: Car has no mirrors
Decision: Entry rejected.
Reason: Mirrors are essential for any car.
Offence: Trim and model year aren’t 2006.
Decision: 1 minute stop & go penalty (80s) for cars #51 & #55. Entry denied for car #50. Model and trim year changed to 2006.
Reason: Trim and model year are only off by one year (2005).
Offence: Incorrect trim naming and missing family naming.
Decision: Entry rejected.
Reason: Trim name is named “CIK” and family name doesn’t follow the naming convention. A double rule break is an automatic bin.
Offence: Has a basic AM radio instead of standard or better.
Decision: 1 minute stop & go penalty (80s) for car #10. Entry denied for car #0. Radio changed from basic AM to standard AM.
Reason: Car is fully legal after switching to a standard AM radio.
Offence: Has a basic AM radio instead of standard or better.
Decision: Entry rejected.
Reason: Unlike the previous case, this car goes over the maximum budget when switched to a standard AM radio.
Offence: Power is over the maximum allowed and tyre profile is too low (30 front and rear).
Decision: Entry rejected.
Reason: Tyre related rule breaks are automatic bins. A double rule break is an automatic bin.
TCD
Offence: Has a sport interior instead of race interior.
Decision: 1 minute stop & go penalty (80s) for car #59. Entry denied for car #61. Interior changed from sport to race.
Reason: Car is fully legal after switching to a race interior.
Offence: Tyre diameter is 17’’ instead of 18’'.
Decision: Entry rejected.
Reason: Tyre related rule breaks are automatic bins.
Offence: Car has a 4-door coupe body
Decision: Entry rejected.
Reason: Coupe bodies aren’t allowed in the TCD class.
Offence: Trim and model year aren’t 2006.
Decision: 1 minute stop & go penalty (80s) for car #45. Entry denied for car #41. Model and trim year changed to 2006.
Reason: Trim and model year are only off by one year (2005).
Offence: Tyre diameter is 17’’ instead of 18’'.
Decision: Entry rejected.
Reason: Tyre related rule breaks are automatic bins.
Offence: Tyre profile is too low (30 front, 25 rear).
Decision: Entry rejected.
Reason: Tyre related rule breaks are automatic bins.
Offence: Too much rear toe (+0.8), wheelbase is under 2.40m, only has space for one row of seats and tyre profile is too low (30 rear).
Decision: Entry rejected.
Reason: Three of these rule breaks would be an automatic bin, and having two or more rule breaks is an automatic bin anyways.
Offence: This body can’t fit full seats on the second row and it has a basic AM radio instead of standard or better.
Decision: Entry rejected.
Reason: This body is illegal. A double rule break is an automatic bin.
Offence: Incorrect family naming.
Decision: Entry denied for car #18. Car #17 allowed to race.
Reason: Engine family doesn’t follow the correct naming convention, but otherwise the car would be legal.
Offence: Uses the naming convention for GTC.
Decision: Entry denied for car #49. Car #68 allowed to race.
Reason: Trim and family name have GTC instead of TCD even though this is obviously a TCD. Otherwise the car is fully legal.
