Community Question: Pre-order bonuses/loot?

So we’re having a think about our future plans, and we’ll be looking at some kind of pre-order plan.

Pre-orders will be cheaper than the final game and you’ll get to play with more demo content as we work on it (kinda like minecraft)

We are also thinking of a rather cooler “Special Edition” pre-order of some kind, and that leads me the the following question

What kind of cool stuff would people like, an Automation T-shirt with some cool engine internals on it?, In game stuff? A poster? we were maybe even thinking of giving out the rights to name some of the in game AI companies…

Any thoughts for cool stuff that you’d like?

I like this idea.

I’ll take your MX5 :stuck_out_tongue:

On a serious note some in game stuff would be brilliant. Although I wouldn’t turn down the T-Shirt and some stickers

nice ideas.
ill buy a t-shirt.
im waiting with some readies to pre order or what ever route you take.

I got an idea…

Let people who preorder design their own fake company and lineup of car models for release. So if Kubby preorders the special edition he gets to create Cossack Motors. Complete with lineup of cars through the years.

Of course that requires the person pre-ordering to do alot of work, and probaby access to the beta…

(OT) I was also thinking it would be cool to have the companies selectable on game start… so you could choose all parodied versions of real companies, all made up companies, or a mix of both.

That would be quite nice idea. However, i guess that it would be hard to implement it.

I think, that I’ll add the Cossack Company as a mod though.

would the Cossack Company mod include wooden frames? :stuck_out_tongue:

I would like in game stuff most. Maybe special component or alloy/material that could be used in building cars/engines, or a special market perhaps.

Yeah, Building Volvonium indestructible bodies, etc.

Well I don’t think it would be too hard if the player was in the Beta and wanted to spend the time… Also it wouldn’t cost the devs anything either… Plus they will be needing some companies with models and stuff anyways.

that’s an interesting idea… I like it!

A problem I see with beta-tester car companies is that the difficulty probably would be too high. On average someone involved in the beta will probably produce better designs than a newcomer to the game. If it is just for the shape of the cars I would agree though, that could be pretty nifty… but then again: playing the game multiple times and the competitors having the same cars over and over (makes it easy to find open market niches), would probably not be too much fun.

Pre-order= acess to beta testing sounds like a good idea, maybe a few extras on top

i like the idea of pre-order and you get bonus material. Carbon fiber body etc (if not in already)

I’d add cardboard chassis to preorderers.

or Wood?

the problem with ingame stuff is that it shouldnt be THE best option available for the part in the game.

Meaning no super light weight and stiff material for the the frame.

if its THE best in the beginning no prob; but the has to be a regular part in the later stages thats at least as good; else the normal buyers will give you bad PR once they find out…

So cardboard body and wood chassis will do verywell

Yeah, no cheaty ingame stuff

Great idea, I like it!

I wouldn’t worry about that - real car nuts like every kind of cars, not only the best cars.
The first engine I built with the beta was the 1955 Fiat 600 engine - I think even a newbie could build a stronger one. And there are people here who has some weird addiction to small, underpowered vans  - so I don’t think that everyone of us would build only unbeatable supercars.

Anyway, we would make some designs, and the Camshaft guys would choose which ones would be in the game at release.
