Competitors.db Editing

Alright, a few more updates! Files are on my Google Drive

I’ve made some tweaks to my existing scripts, and added a new delete script which can easily be configured to remove any company’s content from a save file. This way you can more easily add and remove content from the competitors.db or your sandbox file. For example, if you’ve added all the competitor cars to your sandbox file (which I have) now you can easily get rid of them when you want to be able to find your stuff again, or a new version comes out.

There is now a sandbox file on the google drive which contains all the AI competitors! Simply insert it into your game (back up your old one first) if you want to se the AI cars! Like before, opening these generates a LUA error and everything can’t be edited. I’m still not sure why this is. However, I mostly just wanted to see the options the AI cars are using, so this is still good enough for now.

If you’re curious about any specific AI car that is seemingly “too good” or otherwise kicking your ass in campaign, now you can observe and recreate their options directly! I also want to use this information to analyze some mechanics I’m unclear about in the game:

How much time does an AI car take between its design year and when it goes on sale?
I hope to look at a few of these and come to an answer soon.

What determines the final price/affordability of AI cars? Is it similar to human players?
I suspect they are much cheaper…

Are there any bonuses and penalties to the AI’s final stats?
If say, the reliability we see in the campaign mode is different than in the sandbox, we can infer that this simulates the use of the reliability engineering slider.

So, if you think the new AI competitors are cheating, this is your chance to prove it! Or, learn from their design decisions, lol.
