CSC75 - SWINGIN' SIXTIES. DAVALOS DESIGN CHALLENGE 1962

CSC 75 - The swingin’ sixties

Design a 2 or 4 door Davalos sedan for the year 1962. Davalos has only had 1 family car lineup, the full-size Sycamore, which will continue production into the 1960s - you can choose to design the next-generation full-size Sycamore or you can experiment with mid-size and compact models. The American brand has gained a reputation for conservative, understated design, but would like to break out of their stoic image with a flashy design that’ll attract customers to showrooms and help define other Davalos designs throughout the 1960s.

Woho, finally a CSC that feels interesting to join for me, it was a while ago last time.

So just to clarify should it be luxurious or more like a base model? To get a general direction.

Davalos is a mainstream mass-market company that’s operating in the same price range as Ford, Plymouth, Chevrolet, Pontiac, etc. Like any company, they have premium aspirations but still want to appeal within the affordable price range.

In the latter case, the resulting car will serve as a cheaper, smaller complement to the next Sycamore.

Would you also have a picture or shape for the Logo or is it just Davalos written out? Thx:)

I know i’m late but would it be okay to take the coupe version of this body, since it just has a better roofline? Because i would still consider this a plausible option( given that only styling matters), and its not all that different?

Styling is the only thing being judged this challenge, you may use any body you’d like. There are of course very small or very large bodies that I personally would think don’t fit the brief but I don’t want to limit the creativity of entrants.

Davalon Sycamore

Dear Staff of Davalos,

I would like to present my approach for a new Fullsize Davalon Model for the 60s to arrive. It presents modern styling in an elegant manner.

Some smart text here

I have enclosed several images of my design to showcase its styling from all angles. I hope you find this look as sharp and ready for the future as I do.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Respectfully yours, l0jli

Making something based on the '63 Road Runner/Coronet-style body set look like a Euro-inspired proposal has resulted in your best builds, period.
