The 6 speed manual SUV got approved with no argument. Police cruisers at least in the U.S. don’t have manuals, ever, because an officer needs to do other things while driving. If DCTs get binned for being DCTs, it’s kind of odd that manuals are fine.
I think DCTs get binned more for being a hassle to maintain and not for use. Besides, the Honghu is a DCT, so it’s not an instabin despite what you say.
The Mondo EB10 with a 6 speed manual has no objection, while the Honghu gets a “It also has a dual clutch transmission, which won’t be the best for patrols… or maintanence.” It feels like my car was also binned because of the DCT because it got 40mpg and had a decent 0-60. Maintenance costs and DCT, I guess.
The Honghu I passed more due to everything else it offered, particularly speed that was matched only by one other entry while costing below average by quite a bit. Also manuals being used regularly in a non-North American country, especially nearly a decade ago should be pretty common. Regardless, the majority of the finalists did end up being autos. MPG unfortunately was not my biggest judging item due to locale, had it been elsewhere you most likely would have made it in from that.
I definitely could have marked my judging criteria (and judging rationale) better, but this is my first time hosting so I’ll have to keep that in mind to improve for next time.
Using a DCT to min-max acceleration and fuel econ isnt always the best option, you have to also think of the real world implications of your choice, not just numbers on a spreadsheet. Such as a DCT having pretty poor low speed behavior and elevated service cost because of how they function etc. While manuals are cheap to purchase and maintain.
It was a good CSR, I just had a different idea in mind. I would’ve put a manual in if I knew it wouldn’t be out of the question but that’s my decision.
Same. My America-centric brain went straight to automatic trans
To be honest with you, I did feel an auto would’ve been the better choice as I was retuning. But with the setup I already had going, I felt I would’ve had to make too many sacrifices in important places, sacrifices I didn’t want to make. So in the end I was kinda forced to go manual, despite knowing it could be grounds for a bin. I’m just happy to know it isn’t, at least yet.
Is producing a third Panthera?
Oh my, how lewd
Yeah, I was right at all. Should have get better tyres, suspension and of course, more power.
Yeah, a manual would have given me a $250 lower price, .2 more MPG, 4 reliability points, and only .1 second lost on the 0-60. DCT was the next best thing, because an auto tanked fuel economy and 0-60.
Also, I stacked two as well. Load capacity is only supposed to be 1530 lbs, but ehh. 4250’s fine. Mileage seems to be a bit better than expected.
You need to have your SUV towing the trailer
I agree, unfortunately automation doesn’t have trailer hitches (yet?).
I spied them in the lc3_test beta
Judging Round 3/3
The three police joined back with their Government employed colleague, and reviews were back in business.
Cavalry Sprint @TheEpicRanger6
“We’re starting off cheap this time, Cavalry Sprint coming in at 15570.” Naaji started off the proposal reviews once again.
“Cheap, looks outdated frankly.” Kader remarked.
“You say outdated, it got modern things. Active aero for some reason.” Saab noted from the file. “Magnesium wheels as well”
“Sound like a pain for you.”
“Oh yes.”
“Wasn’t winning me over anyways.” Kader placed Cavalry’s file by the bin. “Let us move on.”
RCM Atlantic PPV @thecarlover
“Here is the RCM Atlantic PPV, coming in at 19148, a bit more on maintenance however at 965” Naaji moved onto the next proposal.
“Looks rather nice, clean but still has a bit of aggressiveness.” Kader commented.
“Looks well constructed from file. Performance a bit lower than many we see. But should be easy drive.” Saab added.
“We do have 8 already approved however, and I feel there has been for the cost there could be better options.” Bousaid pointed out.
“Hmm… that is a good point. Perhaps I’ll keep this as a consideration.” Kader placed the RCM’s file between the bin and the approved pile. “Next.”
Armor Motors Barricade Pursuit @Gasstiresandoil
“Got another SUV for you, Armor Motors Barricade Pursuit. 20582.” Naaji moved to the next proposal.
“Ah, I would say this is the best looking of the SUVs so far.” Kader admired.
“The looks deceive you sir. Inside mostly aluminium, engine also cuts off power.” Saab shook his head.
“Shame, guess we’ve been spoiled by the rest of the SUVs.” Kader placed Armor Motors’ file on the bin.
Hawker Constantine PPV @USDMFTW
“This one is the Hawker Constantine PPV, coming at 18246.ji read off.
“A contender to RCM perhaps? It looks muscular, much like myself, though I would consider myself more of a truck.” Kader said.
“It competes, maybe better.” Saab started. “Steel construction, big V8, also 6 speed auto. Most powerful of sedans.”
“Hmmm… that does sound better. How much power are we talking?”
“373 HP. Not as much as Mondo, but plenty.”
“Sounds like something we should take.” Kader added Hawker’s file to the approved pile.
JHW DMPPV @JohnWaldock
“This one is different. JHW DMPPV, 19992. 775 on maintenance costs.” Naaji read out.
“A Van for cruiser huh? You know, I’m not opposed to that idea. Good looking van as well.” Kader was intrigued.
“A van would be a good choice for practicality.” Bousaid agreed.
“Perhaps, but have to say no to this. DCT, much aluminium, alloys. But fast for van, 6.6 0-100 kph.” Saab said.
“That is quick for a van. Might have to keep this file around for if we need a quick transporter.” Kader put JHW’s file within proximity to the bin.
Letto Bottiglione @LordLetto
“This one is…” Naaji started, his face already showing that it was pricey. “Letto Botti glione. 20978, maintenance of over 1100.”
“That front end, I like some intimidation but that grille looks like a cartoon villian’s car grille. The black isn’t helping.” Kader remarked, not liking the front particularly.
“Costs probably from wheels and tires.” Saab noted.
“Definitely a bit high on costs, for what it offers” Bousaid agreed.
“Finally you gentlemen are on my page.” Naaji exclaimed.
“Yes yes Naaji, finally you got a win. Let us move on.” Kader threw the Letto’s file onto the bin’s pile.
Panliner VC7700 @asami
“This one the Panliner VC7700, costing 18169. Its a big one.” Naaji moved onto the next entry.
“Did we vet these? We’re looking for patrol vehicles not a prison bus.” Kader was confused about this unit on the screen.
“It does say this meets every requirement for our patrol vehicles.” Bousaid flipped through.
“Pretty well built van, might be decent.” Saab added.
“Well, not a great choice for cruiser I would say.” Kader was still staring at the van.
“To be fair sir, you did approve the Shromet and that’s even longer than this.” Bousaid noted.
“Hmmm, fine, it’ll go on my consideration pile.” Kader placed the Panliner’s file with RCM’s. “Let’s move on.”
MBC Wercheg Enforcer @Wachu
“Another wagon, MBC Wercheg, priced at 18400.” Naaji moved on.
“Looks alright, taillights look a bit… low however, won’t you say?” Kader asked.
“They are slightly low sir.” Bousaid agreed.
“Another mostly aluminium DCT vehicle.” Saab stated.
“Another to the big pile then.” Kader dropped MBC’s file on the bin pile.
Starkson Stirling @saddiseased
“And this one is the Starkson Stirling, 19302. Looks rather nice.” Naaji said.
“Yes, yes, but does not look like a police cruiser. Perhaps very unmarked version? A lot of chrome.” Kader asked.
“It does say they have a police version, and the numbers seem to be for the police variant.” Bousaid replied. “Perhaps the wrong picture was sent?”
“Even if for police, don’t want DCT and Alloys.” Saab stated.
“Fair enough.” Kader put the Starkson’s file with the bin.
(You sent me one file that completely passed the requirements, but still had the civilian look in my game so I’m going with that for the picture)
ELECTI Bengal Enforcer @GROOV3ST3R
“Another pricey one, this. Electi Bengal Enforcer, 20840. Maintenance almost at 1200 too.” Naaji said, already disliking this cost.
“It looks fancy, would suit Dalluha.” Kader remarked.
“With that price, it should be fancy.” Bousaid added.
“Wheels definitely too fancy for police. 21” Alloys, will not last. Very good mileage though, 5.9L/100KM.” Saab complimented.
“Its too bad we have all this oil to use, might’ve actually considered it if not.” Kader put ELECTI’s file over the bin.
Keika Kamikaze Police @Mikonp7
“A sportier proposal, Keika Kamikaze costing 19725.” Naaji read out.
“Sports sedan eh? Keika does make some sporty things that I’ve busted in my years, but how would their police cars be?” Kader mused.
“They make sports sedan not cop car, is what. Almost no cargo space, but fast for its power. Also not cop car wheels.” Saab stated. “It look angry though.”
“It is their thing. Too bad being an angry sports sedan is not what makes a cop car.” Kader placed Keika’s file by the bin.
Grehet Skyhold @koolkei
“Another sedan, Grehet Skyhold. This one costing $18739.” Naaji started.
“Rather handsome one I’d say. Not sure about the power bulge on the hood, looks like they wanted one but only partly committed.” Kader comment.
“Inside quite good, reliable construction. Won’t be too hard for repair.” Saab added.
“Hmm… maybe pile or approve pile?”
“I would say maybe for now.” Bousaid answered.
“We do only have three more to go.” Naaji spoke up.
“Let’s go through the last two then.” Kader said.
PKS Rallysport FE @Fayeding_Spray
“This one is a pricey hatchback. Costs 20423, over 1000 to maintain.” Naaji read, surprised at the PKS’ cost.
“It looks pretty good, though maybe under style rearend.” Kader noted.
“Doesn’t meet our specifications though, seating at the rear is only for 2 so it’ll be difficult to get the criminal scum that don’t cooperate in and out.” Bousaid said, seeing the issues. “Also too loud for us.”
“To the bin then.” Kader tossed the PKS’ file to the bin.
Mike85 Motors City Patrol Vehicle @Mike85
“Here’s a cheap one, long name Mike85 Motors City Patrol Vehicle. 16214.” Naaji started.
“Why is this document pre-shredded?” Kader asked, as the pieces of the City Patrol Vehicle files fell out of his folder.
“Not a clue sir.” Bousaid said, finding the same for his own.
“From what I make, engine layout strange. Longitudinal front wheel flat 6. Strange beast. Never seen before.” Saab noted.
“Considering it came preshredded, just means we don’t have to shred it again.” Kader threw the file to the bin, which scattered the pieces all over the bin.
Geschenk Caso Cruiser @racer126
“The last one, Geschenk Caso Cruiser. SUV costing 19999, with low maintenance cost of just over 500.” Naaji started.
“This one looks decent as well.” Kader started. “It’ll have to complete for the last spot however.”
“Mechanically good, body on frame, easy repair.” Saab added.
“This one is the cheapest of the few we had in our maybe pile.” Bousaid noted. “That does come at the price of a worse interior than the rest.”
“Does mean less go wrong. Is not as fast as Skyhold though.”
“None of the other three are as fast as the Grehet though.” Kader looked through the files. “And its not like the Grehet is Honghu fast either.”
“If we go with practicality, the Panliner would be the best.” Bousaid said.
“That van won’t make for a good look as a normal cruiser.”
“If it is normal you want, then the Grehet or RMC would be best.”
“We will go with normal, though some of these perhaps we will see about using at a later date.”
