I asked because I’m having trouble with breaking even for the market share I am expecting. On the test almost everyone priced their cars too cheap.
And on this one there will be even more entries.
Was your car Test_Cheapo_Sportscar? ( If it was then don’t be too disheartened. I tried several cars in that last test and the only serious entry not to make a profit was the cheap sports car (well, it was aimed at the track day market but that’s close enough). It was priced at almost double your car’s cost despite having significantly less factory, material and production costs. The graph shows that it is another cheap sports car that just couldn’t make a profit no matter what price it was set at.
One piece of advice we can both take from that test is that both our factories were way too big. Mine could cope with 100000 cars and yours could cope with ~175000 cars, yet we both only sold around 25000 cars. Smaller factories would have saved us both a lot of money which could possibly have given us a bit of profit, but it appears that this market was quite hard to make a profit in with those target group values.
Obviously if that isn’t your car then this post wont help you much

It was mine actually xD. It was not a serious entry though. At least I compensated that with my Test_Luxury_Car then
I guess my advice didn’t help much then
PMP, if you let me know which cars were yours I’ll give you what advice I can.

I had no cars on the test. I’m just using the data to make my cars and pick one for the challenge.
Well i thought i would try my luck and here it is:
The Yuppie mobile, the car best suited for yuppies as it loud, showy and fast. Factory standard in a shiny chrome finish just to show off a little bit more.
Might as well throw my hat into the ring. The Hudson Ridge, a comfortable midsize car rumored to be prized around 25000.
Wish we had a good 4 door car for this era that doesn’t have a tragic safety rating, or wasn’t a hatch. I had to fudge a sports body into something resembling a midsize; at least it has 5 seats.
okay im new here and just wanna try my best
i named it Valore,a little economical car that targeted to everyone who want to buy their first car
Behold, 1800 pounds of fury and recycled soda bottles. Melts only slightly on hot days, a feature we like to call “adaptive styling”.
The Wooden Cog car co has submitted its entry.
In order to keep up with the coolness of the Ford RS2000, EMW has designed the 88Special. Not the most Racey of cars, it is the funest though.
The front trunk even has room for your mom’s groceries, then again, she eats a lot, so it won’t fit. Yes, a your mom joke in an ad… We are trying to reach a certain Demographic
Easy to tune the suspension, this would also be a great track day car!

Everyone please pay a little bit attention to the instructions. The results are generated by an automated script, therefore your .txt file has to be correct. Copy and paste everything in the red (previously black) border (and ONLY that) in the spreadsheet. And yes, it must be a .txt file, not a PDF. I’m not even talking about correct naming of the files.
I know most of you made their entry correctly, but everyone of the 20% incorrect ones costs me 5-10 minutes, depending on the severity of the failures. That should be time spent on the participant’s side, reading the instructions.
Is it cheating if I take a look at the document revisions to find out what people have been calculating there?
I cannot check who looked into that and I haven’t thought about it that you can do that. I don’t like that there is the possibility. I will think of a better way for next challenge.
But on the other hand: If you really think it will help you, go ahead. We’ll see how much of an advantage you can make out of it. I doubt it will be significant.
I did a copy of the document just for me, that way I can put all the cars I made and look at all the numbers to pick one. I already picked one, I’m going to refine it a bit and then I will submit.
Can you tell us how many people have submited already?
See original post.
Here is my Sports Grand Tourer, the FGT-5 (Fast Grand Tourer 5-Seater) features carbon fiber chassis and polymer body.
Carbon fiber? In 88? Wow that must cost the gdp of several small countries.
