Congratulations to the winners, and I gladly hit my goal.
I knew this challenge was a great testing grounds for the game Thanks once again for the competition, Bayer, it makes Automation a better place.

Just as I expected my car did not do so well. I dont think I will use that score thing in the future as it was clearly harmful to my design.
Nice, atleast my car was barely profitable!
Congrats to the winners.
Personally very pleased with the result even despite the balancing issue in track day/supercar segment. Met my target (to make a profit equal to or greater than the engineering costs), plus managed to pick a price point not far off the optimum, and nearly sold out. Not surprised at mer_at and xwingās performance in the sector, but satisfied that the little guy was able not just to survive but thrive in that competitive market!
Iād be happy to help testing the new balance of track/supercar for next round truth be told I basically built for lap times (made 1:15 around Airfield) for whatever I thought I could afford lol. Thanks for running the challenge!
yikesā¦got my first top 3 results and then no profitā¦ handmade alu shelf and the high price broke my neck or the ālowā pice of 100.000 $.
would be interesting how the result would be if all cars would use the suggested optium price tag. maybe a nice feature for the next round, if it isnāt too complex.
Ehhhā¦ I under priced my car too much, oh well Iāll take #1 market share consolation prize I guess, family-rally-hatch for everyone! Actually ā¦ since both cars ahead of me are super cars that sold well in track day, which shouldnāt happen according to Der Bayer ā¦ huh, apply enough twisted logic and whaddya know I actually won this thing!
More seriously well deserved win and profit for xwing and mer.at.
EDIT: Yay I sold more cars than I can produce, another rounding error I guess.
wow a top spot and sold out too (again)
cheers Martin for hosting another fun challenge
crash and burn
Guessing my main problem this time was TOO big of a factory. Looks like I was very close to my best price point for this vehicle (hard to tell because of the resolution of my screen). Oh and I probably also grossly overestimated the number of offroad buyers. That probably didnāt help.
xwingās car would have done really good even without Trackday customers, it just wouldnāt have been so overpowered.
Optimum price tag round is easy to do, yes. But the optimum price tag only is somewhat correct for a single player as long as all of the other prices stay the same. So it just would mix up everything and no pricetag would be perfect again.
This time it went just as I expected. Iām glad I submitted the offroad instead of the SC. Xwing had a very good car. No one went for the true offroads. I sized my factory just right.
Hey that was a joke, if itās within rules itās fair game. Iām happy with my 3rd place.
Wooohoooo, Iām a billionaire! Too bad devs are fixing the too high sportiness (too high? I had over 1500hp and 1:1 hp:kg ratio in 2003, that has to generate some insane sportiness score!), guess I will have to break something else in the game for the next challenge Truth is the car would not be very viable after the next patch fixing reliability, because my engine really likes to burn after a few miles. Or explode. But the windscreen wipers work flawlessly and that is all my customers care about! (I tried increasing the reliability, but it didnāt help my score much and increased costs significantly)
Also surprised I got a lot of GT sales, didnāt expect that. I tried to do a GT first, but found out it was much easier to increase supercar score so I made a dedicated supercar. And then found out about the trackday sales
Iām not sure revealing the score was a good idea. It helped with finding weak spots (found out about the track day score purely by accident just by trying to change some numbers), but I think it took away some of the fun. And I couldnāt force myself not to use it because I though everyone else will be using it to minmax their cars
Strop: your car is actually better on the airfield track, mine makes around 1:18
P.S.: here is the car lua, for everyone to play with
xwing.lua (109 KB)
Lulz, I fucked up. I didnāt even earn anything with my car.
Well, people have been complaining. Itās better for transparency.
Of course it was a good idea. Itās better to have people work there way into the exploits than some random dude with some random car with ZERO sportiness making a top selling hot hatch.
At least this time the winner of the track day has top sportiness.
Also, thanks for the car. I keep making <2000HP cars they never have stats to match.
I showed that there just was no proper Hot Hatch last time. So stop complaining.
And Iām saying that with the scorecalc I would have noticed that before submitting.
Also, having more transparency also help to get everyoneās feedback on the calculations.
Also, since you are reworking the calcs. I have a sugestion. Why not have a separate stat just for transport capacity. Because as is the TP class favors 5 seaters over 2 seaters. Because utility is higher with 5 seaters.
In the future with the pick up body. It wonāt have an high utility but it should be the best transport because it will almost certainly have the biggest cargo capacity.
Also having a transport capacity stat you can tailor de classes even better.
Cargo volume currently is not affected by the number of seats. And you cannot choose 2 seats for example in the van body. I donāt know if it currently would make much sense.
Thanks Der Bayer, it was fun as always.

DāOh!!! Iām gonna fire someoneā¦
Great success for the F.I.L. Citid PT!
One of the best compact cars and transporters.
The owners of a F.I.L. Citid PT can be proud to own one of best and universal cars in the current world of 2003. No3 choice for hot hatch!
@PMP1337: Transport is like a person transporter i say. Not van-transporter or pickup cargo truck.
@Der bayer: thanks for this awesome challenge, good that someone introduced me to here. I will look forward to next!!!
