CTC - Car Tycoon Challenge #5 - 2014 [RESULTS]

Is it just me or is the spreadsheet slightly broken?
Anyways, I’m excited to see which 2014 models I can use for this challenge :stuck_out_tongue:

What’s the problem? Please try to be a bit more specific

Nvm, it was just the preview that was broken, which threw me off :stuck_out_tongue:

EDIT:

Well, time to announce my two contenders, they have been in my prototype workshop for awhile and showed potential, time to finish them up and get them ready for the challenge:

The Warrior

“Power to the people”

This car was designed as a potent sportscar, affordable to everyone, cheaper than a GT86, been wanting to do this for awhile and I’m satisfied with how it turned out.

The Venture

“Veni Vidi Vici”

Dragotec’s high-end allrounder for successful businessmen who want some fun too. Weighing in over two tonnes it certainly isn’t a lightweight like the Warrior, but it sure does pack a punch.

these challenges are great, for which we are very thankful, but I believe they will help tremendously in the development of the tycoon aspect of the game.

Here are my two entries for CTC #5.

On the left is the Automobili CiclĂłn. This mid-engine supercar is powered by a 4.2-liter twin-turbo V8 producing in excess of 600 horsepower. A naturally-aspirated 5.2-liter V10 was considered for production, but is still under development. :stuck_out_tongue: Power is routed through a 7-speed double-clutch gearbox and sent to all four wheels. Pricing is not yet announced, but with the Ferrari 458 and McLaren 650S as direct competitors, it will be competitively priced.

On the right is the Seoul Revelation 5.0. This large premium sedan is powered by a 5.0-liter direct-injected V8 producing well over 400 horsepower. Rumors abound of a supercharged version of this engine making its way into production. Insiders say they’ll be available soon, but not before other parts of their product portfolio are completed first. :stuck_out_tongue: Power is routed through a sophisticated new 8-speed automatic gearbox and sent to the rear wheels. The Revelation was designed to nuke sales of the BMW 550i and Cadillac CTS V-Sport so expect similar, if not lower prices.

Because of the way this website displays large images, I thought you had just randomly posted a picture of the sky, completely forgetting that you have to scroll down on the image itself when its in one of those boxes :stuck_out_tongue:

 That was intentional. Sort of like pulling the wrap off a new car at an auto show. Glad you found it though!

That view screams “300ZX” to me.

Introducing the Oravan Medved (bear). Satisfied customers are the reason behind our success, so we let them speak about this latest addition to the prestigious Oravan family instead of us.

“Feels like sitting on a sofa.”
“Better sound than my home theater.”
“11 litres of purring goodness.”
“Makes my Rolls look like a cheap copy.”

For it’s 1st entry in CTC5, MGCC Group has chosen from it’s Mythic Brand. The Olympian - affordable luxury and performance, evoking the golden age of the GT.

It’s 2nd entry is from it’s primary brand. Presenting the Mirage Advantage. The entry level trim spec of their ever popular family car.

Unveil the first submission.

And you’re making money on this car? :open_mouth:

Dude, you’re destroying the market for everyone with this car! Are you making millions of them, because the volumes you’d need to recoup your costs at that price point will be unsustainable… :unamused:

 Best of luck too you; every drift racer in the world has just made your car their new favourite

PS: It’s a good looking entry too

I could be able to sell it also at less than 20.000$… I hope I’ve made a correct guess about the max production

BTW the lack of cheap bodies without safety penalty is disturbing…

Well, my cars are cheaper.

The thing that gets me is just how well these cheap cars sell. In Europe at least it seems that everybody goes for the more upmarket option, especially when you consider how well German cars sell. I know I wouldn’t buy a car with an interior made from flimsy plastics and with a standard equipment list shorter than the word “joking” to your average teenage girl.

I have made two entries myself in an attempt to see if cheaper (my new entries) works better than more premium (my previous entry in CTC #3):

THE EVGENIS CHIONI

Will be a production version of the Evgenis line-up once smaller, modern, city car bodies and 3-cylinder engines arrive.

THE EVGENIS ANEMOS MINUS WAGON

Loses the upmarket interior and becomes far more affordable. Smooth 6-cylinder engine in this one, but reasonable fuel economy.

Most of german cars are leased by companies. Almost noone can afford to buy an Audi A6 or BMW 5 series new.

I beleive i don’t quite get how i’m supposed to name it ingame. It says “nickname” so does that mean i name it with my user name oor what?

The .lua filename must be (in your case) “Noporian” and “Noporian2”.
So the name of the model ingame must be “Noporian” and “Noporian2”.
On the .txt file (named “Noporian” and “Noporian2”) you can input the name of the car model, like in my case “BMMS Blue Marlin GT-Sprint”.
I hope it help.
