YES! Number One on sales per car!
Although, I aimed this car at overall profits…but good enough for me
And the 10 min supercar did amazingly well, for something that took me 9 min between starting the car and sending the file to Bayer

I didn’t quite reach the sales goal for the Bubblegum Pop (the dealers won’t be too happy with all that excess inventory they’re sitting on, LOL). But I’m amazed at how accurate the sales numbers are. I sold about 160k cars - which is identical to the production numbers for the Isetta 300, the “performance” benchmark. Incredible! I did at least win top 3 in the compact category - the “loss leader” strategy worked well this time around, but I grossly overestimated the market size.
Predictably, the GMW 587 was profitable, though not enough to make up for the Bubblegum Pop. Definitely had fun as always!
Amen!
You’re not the only one. I overestimated as well, and I know others did too. We were assuming we’d have closer to 60 entries like last time, and not fewer than 50. If I had any inkling of that, I’d have dropped total production probably 300-400k between the two models. Don’t know if it would have put me in the black overall, but it would have been better.
I overestimated the market size (thought there will be 60-70 cars), and underestimated the other cheap-crap cars
At least ME Overkill did ok.
too big factories for too less buyers…should have aimed for max production of 400k each. but the silvercould take 3 times the 3rd place ( CS, MS and OR$$ ) and gained a profit of 31% with 367k untis sold. the SFTC gained a loss of 1% with 228k units sold.
a scaling factor/guideline for the size of the market regarding participants would be nice for the future. steps per 10 entrants should be feasible.
@Der Bayer: page 2 of the results pdf shows CTC #5 marketshare

Yeah me too, at least my cheap ass model didn’t wipe out all the profits from my comfy coupe. I Shan’t be chasing the cheap ass market next time (or will I).
The Wooden Cog Car Co proves once again it can deliver. Production was lowered in anticipation of a smaller market this year because of the Korean War and due to the change of operations profit margins have never been better ever.
Both the Road Sofa 9001 and the Pax Americana were successful. Apparently my dad was one of the 55ish people who bought it as a family car (you might laugh but my dad had a HUGE car when I was a kid).

And then you end up in a prisoner’s dilemma sort of situation trying to estimate how many entries we’ll have.
Do you:
I’ll probably just stick to #5 , but the question does bring up an important topic for when the Tycoon part of the game is being worked on. How do we, like real-life car manufacturers, estimate potential sales volume, and create sales/production budgets?
Updated, thanks!
Here you go:
Do you:
wait to the last minute to submit that way you can get a better idea as to how many entries there will be? (of course, if everyone did this, you’d still have a poor estimation)
wait 1 week, and then estimate how many entries are likely to be submitted (still run the risk of a flood of last minute entries, throwing off your numbers)
take an average of the total submissions across all CTC’s and stick to that number
some combination of the above
forget about estimating entirely, and just play the game for fun LOL
know how many competitors there are and still be f’ed because all are in your target group and you didn’t know that.

Yup, didn’t think about that! Although that is part of what makes this challenge so much fun - the “insecurity of what rivals will throw on the market” - being one the main features.
Thanks, Guess I judged the price/factory size pretty well
I think, I#m Mr. Taxi Marketshare guy… bankruptcy but happy
Saltsa failed. Petra is almighty! Overall reasonable. I’m happy with that, but perhaps I should stop making cheap cars now
Good thing I was conservative with my cheap car, it turned a profit! And the supercar did well, although I’m sad I did not get best profit/car or best profit overall, I just got used to the winning streak. At least I got best return on sales, so still on top, kind of
will the next challenge start today? hehe
I’m very happy with my GT/SC. Because I built the car I wanted with an engine too big that was only that big to have big HP and to have the filter sticking out the scoop and I manage to maintain those things and still make a profit.
The Bracara was built to cover the potential loses of the 8600GT, but I bet on a car that would traverse several target groups, 4th most profit and 6th overall marketshare, I’m happy too.
Didn’t had much images showing up but still good.
I tried the same tactics last challenge but the stupid van caught me by surprise, so my offroad didn’t cover the SC loses and made loses of it’s own too.
Too much competitors in the same nieche or not enough entry made me expectation on sales a bit more optimistic. For 40.000 units my Z847-55 went no profit.
I’m happy for the results of the Z5055. For once I should have done the car cheaper to gain more total profit XD. Someone choose it as transport vehicle… i guess some classy luxurious-home-delivery-catering with cook and kitchenware for VIP private party… or political taxi for gulags.
